The paleogeography of Late Jurassic, early and late stage of Early Cretaceous, includ-
ing the divisions of paleogeographical districts and their volcanoclastic rocks and sedimen-
tary district, paleomountains, marine sedimentary district. and their representatives of the
stratigraphical units and various fossil assemblages, fauna, flora are described (Table
ll).
On the basis of above materials, the author suggested on the regularity of the origin,
development, flourish, decline and disappearance of the famous and special Jehol (Rehe)
biota in Eastern Asian Paleocontinent (EAP) and distribution of its spread and migration
. and then proposed the top and the bottom boundary of Jehol biota at geological column.
in 1983 the author reported that the Jehol biota originated from Northern China Pale-
ocontinent (NCP ) and Northern Hebei--western Liaoning area (or called Yanliao area ) was
its original center, then it spreaded and migrated to other places, including Mongolia,
Sibiria and Eastern Transbaikalia and formed an unique Jehol biota, distributed at about
longitude 90~130°and latitude 25~27°.
In 1985, 1986, 1990 the author reported and discussed the original problem of Jehol
biota.
In 1990 Dr. Wang Si'en supported and quoted this view of above Jehol biota origin in
his academic paper-- 'Origin, evolution and mechanrsm of the Jehol fauna '.
The original vlew of Jehol biota may help us to trace the origin, evolution, develop-
ment and geological and geographical distributions of various fossils of Jehol biota in EAP.
