时间的处理在威廉·福克纳的杰作、意识流经典小说《喧哗与骚动》中起着至关重要的作用。该小说中人物截然不同的时间意识塑造了个性鲜明的人物形象,深化了作品的主题。关注时间的处理既有助于更好地理解该小说,也有助于把握作者的时间观。
The treatment of time plays a vital role in The Sound and The Fury, an outstanding classical stream-of-consciousness novel by William Faulkner. The markedly different time consciousnesses of the main characters in the novel have shaped the sharply different images and also deepened the theme of the novel. Thus, bearing the time treatment in mind will help better understand not only the novel, but also the author's time concept.
