摘要
中医学与西医学产生于两种不同的文化体系,其学术体系、思维方式与诊疗方法各异其趣,似乎有不可通约之感。中医学独特的理论体系借助于中国古典哲学建构其理论基础与学术语言,形成了中医理论医哲交融的独特特征。由于古代中国医者与儒士身份同构,医儒身份同一使得中医学的语言表达极具文学色彩。因而,体系迥异、医哲交融及文学表达构成了中医英译的主要文化障碍。
Originating from different cultural systems, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and western medicine have their distinctive characteristics in academic system, thinking pattern and methods of diagnosis and treatment. Great differences between these two medical systems seem to mean it is impossible for them to communicate in the academic field. Moreover, TCM has a unique feature of blending the thoughts of medicine and philosophy as its theoretical basis and language are built on Chinese classic philosophy. In addition, the fact that most of ancient Chinese doctors were also Confucian scholars leads to the distinctive literary color of the linguistic expression of TCM. Hence, the disparities in theoretical system, blending the medical and philosophic thoughts, and literary expression constitute major cultural barriers in the translation of TCM.
