Abstract Western Han Tomb of Nanyuewang (king of Nanyue)in Guangzhou and ManchengTomb both are important tombs which have been excavated scientifically, The authour di-vides the unearthed and well-preserved jade vessels into three groups:funeral vessels, deco-ration vessels and vessels for daily use, and then make a comparative study on them.Concerning with funeral vessels, in Tomb of Nan yuewang there are a silk-thread-woven jade clothes and a Gem-inlaid Ru(襦),which prevailed form Eastern Zhou to the EarlyPeriod of Western Han; while in Tomb of Mancheng, there are two gold-thread-woven jadeclothes; More decoration vessels, such as jade Huang(璜)and sets of jade Pedents are discov-ered and Die-shaped jade pedent, jade dancer and jade Bi(壁)with Cut DecorationMancheng, They fully exhibit the fashion of Early Period of Western Han; About jade vesselsfor daily use, also there are difference in the shape of seals and craft of Jade hood between thetwo tombs. Jade vessels Tomb in Mancheng belong to typical Han Jades and present the art style ofmidde Han; Tomb of Nanyuewang is of middle Han too, but some jade vessels form it bearthe style of per-Qin and trait of Early Period of Westen Han, The possible reason for this isthat kingdom Nanyue located far form central area and was lagged behind culturally at thattime
