少卿山遗址位于昆山市千灯镇东北。据清代《昆新两县续修合志》记载:"吴淞江自吴门至干墩浦,江南北有墩一千,故谓干墩。明永乐中,大理少卿袁复被旨浚千墩浦,乡民便之,号少卿墩"。少卿山(墩)
The Shaoqingshan site is situated northeast of Qiandeng town,Kunshan city,occu- pying an area of 40,000 sq m.In 1997,a rescuring excavation was carried out on the site,which resulted in the discovery of a house-foundation and six tombs.The unearthed remains fall into two categories be- longing to the Songze and Liangzhu cultures respectively.Among the Liangzhu culture objects,the pot- tery includes mainly the jar,yan steamer,ding tripod and dou stemmed vessel,and also the vat,urn and cup in a smaller amount.Stone and jade artifacts occur in a small number.Above a plot of deposits of the early Liangzhu culture,an earth platform and related remains were found to be 1,600 sq m in area and 6m in height and to belong to the Liangzhu culture.The platform was a cemetery and at the same time an altar for sacrifice to ancestors.
