A Comment on schema theory and the teaching of reading

摘要 从应用语言学和心理语言学的角度,分析了国内外语教学的历史及现状,对图示阅读理论进行了阐述,对该理论在阅读教学中的应用及教师所应采取的策略等几个方面进行了初步的探讨。 Reading is an important way to acquire knowledge and information. The purpose of teaching reading is to develop and enhance the students' reading ability. How should an English teacher deal with teaching of reading so as to help the students really read most effectively? After analyzing both the history and present standing of foreign language teaching at home, this paper makes a profound understanding and elaboration to schema reading theory from the point of view of applied linguistics and psycholinguistics. Meanwhile, the paper also discusses such topics as how to apply this theory in teaching reading and what strategies language teachers should use.
