摘要
To the Editor:In recent years, total joint replacement has become the most effective method to preserve the joint function. However, with the increase in the numbers of surgeries, attention to post-operative complications has increased dramatically. The main complication is loosening of the prosthesis.Loosening can be caused by periprosthetic joint infection(PJI).[1]The histopathology of periprosthetic tissue is one of the commonly used methods for diagnosing PJI.Since neutrophils can reflect the body’s response to infection, the diagnosis of PJI can be determined by the neutrophil counts in the tissues.
