On Xi Jinping’s View of History on the Anti-Japanese War and Its Implications

摘要党的十八大以来,习近平总书记关于中国人民抗日战争的7次重要讲话,集中反映了他的抗战史观.其主要内容除继承以往中共领导人对中国人民抗日战争的相关阐述外,还包括抗战精神、'14年抗战'概念、'南京大屠杀惨案'专门论述、中国人民抗日战争与中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦、中国人民抗日战争与人类命运共同体意识等重要论述.在习近平抗战史观的指导下,党和政府先后采取系列举措,如设立南京大屠杀死难者国家公祭日、'14年抗战'概念进教材等,不仅加强了对中国人民抗日战争历史记忆的构建,提升了世人对中国人民反法西斯战争贡献的认知,提高了中华民族在世界反法西斯战争中的地位,而且宣示了中国走和平发展道路的诚心和决心,在国内外产生了深远影响. Since the Party’s 18th National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has on seven occasions made important remarks on the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,which have embodied his historical view on the War.In addition to the ideas held by the previous Party leaders,Xi adds new contents to it,covering expositions on the spirit of the Resistance War,the concept of the“14-Year War of Resistance”,the“Nanjing Massacre”,the awareness of the relations between the War of Resistance and the Chinese Dream of achieving national rejuvenation,and a community of shared future for mankind,etc.Under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s view of history,the Party and the Government have adopted a series of measures,such as setting up the National Memorial Day for the Nanjing Massacre and adding the concept of the“14-Year Anti-Japanese War”to textbooks,etc.,which have not only reinforced Chinese people’s memory of the history about the War,enhanced the world’s awareness of the Chinese nation’s contributions to and status in the World War against Fascism,and proclaimed China’s sincerity and determination to adhere to the path of peaceful development,hence creating far-reaching implications both home and abroad.
