The Liulihe site in Beijing is the capital of Yan state in Western Zhou.A number of gemstones and jades are found in the tombs of the Western Zhou. Most of them are ornaments,a few are traditional jade rituals, and the proportion of gemstones is larger than that of jades.Neither the Yin Dynasty’s inhabitants nor the Zhou Dynasty’s immigrants have the custom of"jade worship"in burial objects, that is to say, they do not reflect the status of the owner of the tomb by the number of jades buried with them.Jade is widely used in the tombs, especially used in the rituals in other states of the Western Zhou. The number and types of jade are closely related to the status of the owner of the tomb, which is obviously different from Yan State.
