摘要
选美助赈是一项在短时间内实现快速募款的义赈活动,最初出现在上海。从20世纪20年代末至40年代末期,选美筹款活动出现了从私人领域到公共参与、从昙花一现到常规化赛事的转变。选美比赛在逐步成为义赈活动的重要募捐手段的同时,其自身也发生了许多具有新兴意味的变化,其中交织着传统与现代、本土与西方等各种因素的碰撞。筹赈选美活动形塑与演进的历程,一方面反映出选美娱乐活动日渐适应近代中国社会文化生活的发展需要;另一方面也显著体现了义赈社会化救灾的发展样态。
Beauty pageant fundraising is a charity event that achieves rapid fundraising in a short period of time first appeared in Shanghai.From the late 1920s to the 1940s,beauty pageants transformed from a private sphere to public participation,from a flash in the pan to a regular event.While beauty pageants gradually became an important means of fundraising for relief activities,they also underwent many changes of their own with emerging implications,in which various factors,such as tradition and modernity,local and Western collided and presented a structure of complex development.The process of shaping and evolving beauty pageants reflects the gradual adaptation of beauty pageants to the development needs of modern Chinese social and cultural life on the one hand;on the other hand,it also significantly reflects the development pattern of socialized disaster relief for charity relief.
