摘要
新发现胡林翼手书《祭李迪庵先生文》碑文拓本,将其与《湖南文征》本《祭李迪庵先生文》比对,可以确定系同一篇祭文,但文字上有若干处不同。据清人傅耀琳《李文忠公年谱》载,咸丰八年(1858)十二月二十三日,李迪庵丧过武昌时,胡林翼"自为文以祭"。此一"自为"之文应当就是《祭李迪庵先生文》的最初版本。新发现的《祭李迪庵先生文》系胡林翼手书碑文拓本,说明祭文后又被泐石为碑。碑立于何处呢?《清史稿·李续宾传》载,李迪庵战殁后,咸丰帝下旨褒恤,着在湖北、江西、安徽及湖南湘乡本籍各建专祠。其中一座专祠在湖北武昌建立,《祭李迪庵先生文》碑即当立于武昌专祠之内。此祠早已湮没不存,但却辗转留下了此碑文拓本,亦颇难得。《湖南文征》本《祭李迪庵文》与此拓本的几处不同或讹误,恰好可以说明它的抄本性质,而从文献学的角度看,胡林翼手书碑文拓本的文本价值高于《湖南文征》本。
A comparison of the newly-discovered stele rubbing of Mr.Li Di’an’s Epitaph hand-written by Hu Linyi and the Mr.Li Di’an’s Epitaph copy collected in Hunan shows that these two versions,despite a few differences in wording,are actually the same.According to Chronicle of Li Di’an compiled by Fu Yaolin of the Qing Dynasty,on the 23 rd day of the 12 th month in the reign period of Emperor Xianfeng(1858),when Li Di’an’s corpse passed Wuchang,Hu Linyi"hand-wrote an epitaph in memory of Li".The"hand-written"epitaph should be the original version of Mr.Li Di’an’s Epitaph.The newly-discovered version is a stele rubbing,indicating that the epigraph was later engraved on a stele.Where is the stele now?Draft History of the Qing Dynasty:Biography of Li Xubin records that after he died in the battlefield,Emperor Xianfeng decreed that he be honorable buried and that special memorial temples be built in his name in Hubei,Jiangxi,Anhui and his birthplace–Xiangxiang in Hunan.One of these was located in Wuchang of Hubei,and the stele with the epitaph was erected in it.This temple was destroyed long ago,but this highly valuable stele rubbing was left behind.The few differences or errors in the text between the rubbing version and the version collected in Hunan illustrate the copy nature of the latter.From the perspective of philology,the rubbing has higher textual value than the copy collected in Hunan.
