摘要
                
                    目的明确1994年苏拉特鼠疫疫情中分离的鼠疫耶尔森菌系统发育地位及基因组特征,为进一步研究此次疫情暴发的起因提供线索。方法利用比较基因组学方法,将已发表的两株苏拉特暴发株基因组与366个鼠疫全球代表菌株的基因组进行变异鉴定和系统发育重建,并对苏拉特菌株的基因组特征进行解析。结果苏拉特鼠疫菌很可能是20世纪广泛使用的鼠疫减毒活疫苗株EV76的后代。但两株苏拉特基因组中均存在长度为102 kb的毒力岛(称作pgm位点),该毒力岛在其他已知的EV76疫苗及实验室保藏株中缺失。结论引发1994年苏拉特疫情的菌株属于鼠疫菌EV76种系,其引发疫情的能力可能与携带pgm位点有关。
                
                Objective To clarify the phylogenetic position and genomic characteristics of Surat isolates,and to offer clues to the source of the 1994 Surat plague.Methods By using the comparative genomics approach,the published genomes of two Surat Yersinia pestis isolates with 366 global isolates was compared while the genomic characteristics of Surat isolates were analyzed.Results Surat isolates were the most likely the descendants of EV76 strains,which were the widely used live attenuated plague vaccine in the 20 th century.However,unlike all the other known strains of EV76 lineage,these two published Surat genomes carried a 102 kb genome virulence island,named pgm locus.Conclusion EV76 vaccine derivatives are probably the source of the 1994 Surat plague,with a possible scenario of increasing virulence by carrying the pgm locus.
