摘要
维特根斯坦关于语言、理解、概念、认知、心智、数学基础和机器思维等话题的哲学思考都可以从人工智能的视角来加以探讨。在20世纪50年代到80年代的自然语言处理发展进程中,维特根斯坦的哲学对计算语言学中的某些发展产生了实质影响,这种影响是经由其学生麦斯特曼及其领导的剑桥语言研究小组而发生的。详细考察这段特殊的历史,藉此探究维特根斯坦的哲学究竟是如何实际上对计算语言学发生影响的,由此呈现出哲学如何能影响人工智能中的一些特定领域。
Wittgenstein’s thought on language,understanding,concepts,cognition,mind,mathematical foundations,and machine thinking can be discussed in the context of AI.In the development of the natural language processing,from the 1950s to the 1980s,Wittgenstein’s philosophy had a substantial influence on some developments in computational linguistics.It was through his student Magret Masterman and the CLRU led by her that this influence occurred.This paper will explore this special history in detail so that we can make sure how Wittgenstein’s philosophy actually influenced computational linguistics.Finally,it shows how philosophy could influence certain areas of AI.
