摘要
本文基于2012年和2014年中国劳动力动态调查数据,利用二元Logistic、WLS和分位数回归方法探讨了相貌对于青年劳动力就业表现的影响及其性别差异。研究发现:第一,总体来看,"颜值"对于青年劳动力就业表现具有一定影响,这其中主要体现在对于收入水平的显著作用;第二,对于男性劳动力来讲,相貌对于其就业与否和收入水平有着显著正影响,对于女性而言,相貌良好有利于其创业和增加劳动供给,相貌对于兼职则没有太大影响;第三,相貌对于收入水平的影响存在显著性别差异,相貌每增加一单位会使得男性收入增加6.13%,而这项数值是女性的5.28倍;第四,男性相貌对于收入水平影响的分位数系数变化呈现"扁平U型",而女性则体现为"攀升型",相貌每提升一单位会使得中低收入男性收入提升5.1%~12.3%,使得高收入女性收入提升7%,身材等其他影响因素对于劳动力就业产生了不同的效应并存在一定性别差异。劳动力市场中由于相貌引起的就业男女差异和性别歧视等问题值得关注。
Based on 2012 and 2014 China Labor-force Dynamics Survey data,this paper uses Logistic,WLS and quantile regression methods to explore the impact of appearance on the employment performance of young laborers and their gender differences.The study found that:Firstly,overall,"beauty value"has a certain impact on the employment performance of the labor force,which is mainly reflected in the significant role of income level;Secondly,for the male labor force,the appearance has a significant positive impact on employment or not and income level.For female labor force,good looks are conducive to their entrepreneurship and increased labor supply.The appearance does not have much impact on part-time work.Thirdly,there are significant gender differences in the impact of appearance on income levels.When score of appearance increase 1%,it will increase male income by 6.13%,and this figure is 5.28 times that of female.Fourthly,the impact of appearance on income of male shows a"flat U-shaped"change in the income level,while female’s shows"climbing".The increase of appearance will increase the income of low-and middle-income men by 5.1%~12.3%,which will increase the income of high-income female by 7%.Other factors such as body shape have different effects on labor employment and there are certain gender differences.Issues such as employment gender differences and gender discrimination in the labor market due to appearance are worthy of attention.
