“■”is the ancient form of“绝”in Shuoren(《说文》),which originated from the glyphs that similiar with“■”on Jin Dynasty Zhongshan Wangqi of the War-ring States;it also uses“■”which is the inverse form“■”as“继”.Contrary to Shuowen(《说文》),“■”on the Chu Bamboo Slips and Silks is the word“绝”,and the.“■”which is the inverse form of“■”is“继”,in Zenghouyi tomb the word“■聂”which usually be seen was read as“麂摄”.During the Warring States Period, the glyph“■”and“■”were not confused in the Chu scripts, among the characters of different famnilies, due to the inconsistency of the corresponding relationship between the font and the type, the confusion occurred. The handed down documents“■”and“■”were mixed.
