As one of the important sources of historical data in the study of history, nautical charts have gradually become the research object of the scholars under the impetus of Marine history studies.Masakatsu Miyazaki's A World History of Nautical Chart:History Changed by Sea Route,by reviewing of maritime adven-tures,narrates the transition from charts to world maps and the formation of mari-time traffic networks, and reveals the relationship between the expansion of sea routes and the process of world integration. In this book,by focusing on interdis-ciplinary methods, the formation of the sea route network of the world is investiga-ted from a long period of time with a bird-view,thusit reflectedan idea of global history.Although there are some problems, such as insufficient attention to the cultural significance of nautical charts and the changes of cartography,it is differ-ent from the previous perspective of world history studies, and provides a reference for the grand narration of Marine history.
