摘要
                
                    山西平顺金灯寺第5窟建于明弘治年间,窟内基坛造像和四壁浮雕取自明代流行的题材,图像配置严谨,主尊和水陆神祇构成主要图像系统,象征开示觉悟和法界救济,表示修行和救度的观音题材为次要图像系统,起到补充作用,涅槃僧像则是该窟的缘起和点睛。
                
                Cave No.5 of Jindeng Temple in Pingshun County,Shanxi Province,was built in Hongzhi reign of Ming Dynasty.The themes of the base sculptures and the reliefs of the four walls are mostly popular ones during the Ming period,with vivid and precise images.The main figures and the water land gods form the main icons,symbolizing enlightment and charity in Buddhism.The secondary image system consists of Guanyin's practice and salvation,which is additional.The image of the monk who passed away acts as the start and focus of the grotto.
