摘要
英语语音教学不仅包含基础的单个语音(音段)的教学,而且涵盖语调、重音、节奏、语速等韵律特征(即超音段音位特征)。在这些韵律特征中,语调地位独特,是非常重要的一部分。与汉语相比,英语语调有其独有的特征、结构和功能。语调的重要性固然容易理解,但实际的语调教学却并非易事。文章旨在介绍作者在教学实践中成功应用的几种英语语调的教学方法,并且强调,只有坚持在教学实践中融入语调理论,使二者相互促进,这样的教学过程才能帮助中国学生习得令人满意的英语语调。
The teaching of English pronunciation not only includes the teaching of individual sounds(segmental phonemes),which is the basis for pronunciation,but also covers some prosodic features(suprasegmental phonemes).Of these prosodic features,intonation is a very important part,and holds a special position.Compared with Chinese,English intonation has its unique feature,structure and function.The importance of intonation is easy to understand,but the practical teaching of intonation is no easy matter.In this article,the authors would like to make a presentation of the ways of teaching English intonation which have been proved successful in the practical teaching,and it would also emphasize that if teachers persist in this mutually facilitating process of teaching practice and intonation theory,it would be very helpful for students to acquire a satisfactory English intonation eventually.
