摘要
目录版本学界对“书之称本”的由来主要有三种说法,三说均有不妥。“本”用以计量书籍的量词用法,其语源应当符合量词来源的整体规律。量词“本”最初是用以计量丛生植物的集体量词,中古时期始用于计量书籍。其量书的用法乃源自计量植物的引申,与卷子装的装帧、放置方式密切相关。
There are three main arguments explaining the origin of the term“Book is called Ben”in bibliography,all three of which are inappropriate.The origin of“Ben”to measure books is a quantitative usage,and its etymology should be consistent with the overall law of quantitative origin.The word“Ben”was originally a collective quantifier used to measure plants and was first used to measure books in the medieval period.The usage of book measurement is derived from the plant measurement and is closely related to the binding and placement of the volumes.
