摘要
《追远寺造像记》造像时间当为北周天和元年。权彦、权景晖兄弟造像的直接动机,是为亡弟景略追福。权氏为天水郡显亲县望族,这个家族世居陇右,代有隽才,并且世代奉佛。自西魏之初,到北周时期,他们在天水境内造像、建塔,留下了很多与佛教有关的遗迹,这与天水作为佛教传播的必经之路直接相关。
The statue was made in the first year of Northern Zhou Dynasty.The direct motive of Quan Yan’s and Quan Jinghui’s brothers was to pursue the fortune of their deceased brother Jing Lue.Quan family was a prominent family in Xianqin of Tianshui county.This family had lived in Longyou for generations,and been worshipping Buddhism for generations.From the beginning of the Western Wei Dynasty to the Northern Zhou Dynasty,they built statues and pagodas in Tianshui,leaving many relics related to Buddhism,which is directly related to Tianshui,the only way to spread Buddhism.
