镜鉴与津梁:庄泽宣与中国比较教育之肇端 被引量:2

Mirror and Bridge: Zhuang Zexuan and the Beginning of the Comparative Education in China

摘要 作为中国比较教育学科的先驱,庄泽宣①从哥伦比亚大学师范学院借鉴并移植了比较教育理论。为了求索"新教育中国化"的道路,庄泽宣将民族性作为比较教育研究的核心内容,运用历史学与文学的方法揭示各国的民族性,探讨民族性与教育制度的相互关系。基于此,他试图建立自然环境、民族性、经济力、社会组织与教育等诸要素之间的互渗关系网络,探求学校之外影响教育的力量。对民族性问题的重视深刻影响了庄泽宣的教育实践,他参与的"言文问题"的论辩和民众教育的推广,均着眼于中国民族性的改良。 As a pioneer of comparative education in China,Zhuang Zexuan borrow ed and transplanted comparative education theory from the Teachers College of Columbia University. In order to seek the path of"the sinicization of new education",he considered national character as the core content of comparative education research. By means of the methods of history and literature,Zhuang Zexuan uncovered the national characters of various countries and further discussed the mutual relation betw een national character and educational system. Based on that,he attempted to build an interpenetrating netw ork of relationships betw een various factors such as natural environment,national character,economic force,social organization and education,w ith w hich he tried to search the pow er outside school influencing education. Zhuang Zexuan’s educational practice w as deeply influenced by his highly valuing of the issue of national character. With the view to the improvement of China’s national character,he participated in the debate on "problem of language and w ords",and the popularization of public education.
