Certain post-translational modifications are required for proteins quality control and intracellular transportation. Here, Yuan et al. found that S-palmitoylation played an important role in the intracellular transport of CLDN3, a tight junction protein involved in ovarian cancer progression. Mechanistically, ZDHHC12-mediated S-palmitoylation is prerequisite for CLDN3 transporting to the cell membrane.
