摘要
毛泽东研究是世界范围内的重要课题。从20世纪20年代至今,海外毛泽东研究已有90多年的历史,出现了众多的研究学派和思潮。澳大利亚学者尼克·奈特从中国马克思主义发展史的角度对海外毛泽东研究进行了历史考察和全面透视,围绕工人阶级和农民阶级在中国革命中的地位,意识能动和经济力量在中国社会变革中的关系,马克思主义和中国传统文化在马克思主义中国化中的主次问题,理想主义和实用主义在毛泽东思想形成发展过程中的变化问题,普遍性和特殊性在马克思主义中国化过程中的逻辑等争论较大的问题,进行了客观分析,提出了自己的见解。尼克·奈特在毛泽东研究中注重文本解读、进行学术批评、开展比较研究等方法也值得我们借鉴。
Studies on Mao Zedong have been an important subject worldwide.The past 90 years from the 1920 s to the present saw many schools of thought emerging amid the numerous studies overseas.From the perspective of the evolution of Marxism in China,Nick Knight,an Australian scholar,conducted a chronological and comprehensive research into the overseas studies on Mao Zedong,focusing on some controversial topics,such as the status of the working class and the peasant class in the Chinese revolution,the roles of conscious initiative and economic factors in China’s social transformation,the priority issue between Marxism and traditional Chinese culture in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context,the change of idealism and pragmatism in the shaping and development of Mao Zedong Thought,the logic of universality and particularity in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context.He gives an objective analysis on these issues and puts forth some original opinions on them.His academic attitude and methodology,attaching importance to textual interpretation,academic criticism,and comparative research,set a good example for us.
