To investigate the influence of opening high speed railway on attracting foreign investment in China, this paper took the perspective of the“high speed railway opening”policy and uses the difference-in-difference(DID)model to perform regression testing. The analysis shows that the external policy of high-speed railway opening strengthens regional economic ties and improves production factor flow efficiency. After the opening of the high speed railway, the amount of foreign investment has increased significantly. The robustness test further confirms the stability and accuracy of the above conclusions:The opening of multiple high speed rail stations in a region will further promote spatial accessibility and factor flow efficiency, and this superimposed effect will further increase the scale of foreign investment. The placebo test also indicates that the change in the amount of foreign investment comes from the external policy of the opening of high speed railway. After replacing the foreign investment indicators, the results are still significant, once again verifying that the opening of the high speed railway significantly promotes the level of foreign investment in multiple dimensions.
