This paper introduced a compact high flux polarized neutron beam generator scheme,which used air as the working medium and had low energy consumption.The neutron beam generator adopted a linear three compartment configuration,sequentially using nitrogen nucleus tandem near range accelerated polarization target spallation nuclear reaction technology,neutron multiplication technology,neutron beam polarization and near range acceleration technology,neutron focusing and shooting control technology.Through design and equivalent verification,it has been proven that the total length of the device does not exceed 5 m,the effective range can reach several hundred kilometers,the neutron flux at the muzzle is not less than 10^(25) n·cm^(-2)·s^(-1),which attenuates to 10^(10) n·cm^(-2)·s^(-1) at a distance of several 100 km,and this flux can effectively strike the target.It can be used as a defensive directed energy weapon with high energy density and has broad application prospects. 展开更多

Numerical simulation on the combustion characteristics of scramjet at high Mach number

To investigate the problem of ethylene jet mixing and combustion in the scramjet at high Mach number(Ma = 8), numerical simulations were carried out for different equivalent ratios at cold and combustion conditions, in which three-dimensional steady compressible RANS and k-ω SST turbulence model were adopted. It demonstrates that as the equivalence ratio increases from 0.42 to 1.08, the combustion becomes more intensified, and the higher backpressure pushes flame to propagate upstream. The supersonic combustion region in the combustor decreases from 92% to 85% with the increase of equivalence ratio from 0.42 to 1.08, resulting in the transition of the combustor from scram-mode to dual-mode. Both mixing and combustion efficiencies decrease by 35% and 16% respectively when the equivalence ratio increases from 0.42 to 1.08, indicating that the high equivalence ratio is unfavorable to the mixing and combustion processes. Combustion mode analysis reveals that the flame in the cavity under the high Mach number is dominated by non-premixed flames, i.e., more than 95% behaves as non-premixed mode, and the heat release is also mainly contributed by non-premixed flame. Increasing the equivalence ratio is beneficial to the thrust performance. Although the viscous force hardly changes with equivalence ratio, the percentage of pressure force used to balance the viscous force increases gradually,which limits the engine performance. 展开更多

High speed photography technique is potentially the most effective way to measure the motion parameter of warhead fragment benefiting from its advantages of high accuracy,high resolution and high efficiency.However,it faces challenge in dense objects tracking and 3D trajectories reconstruction due to the characteristics of small size and dense distribution of fragment swarm.To address these challenges,this work presents a warhead fragments motion trajectories tracking and spatio-temporal distribution reconstruction method based on high-speed stereo photography.Firstly,background difference algorithm is utilized to extract the center and area of each fragment in the image sequence.Subsequently,a multi-object tracking(MOT)algorithm using Kalman filtering and Hungarian optimal assignment is developed to realize real-time and robust trajectories tracking of fragment swarm.To reconstruct 3D motion trajectories,a global stereo trajectories matching strategy is presented,which takes advantages of epipolar constraint and continuity constraint to correctly retrieve stereo correspondence followed by 3D trajectories refinement using polynomial fitting.Finally,the simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately track the motion trajectories and reconstruct the spatio-temporal distribution of 1.0×10^(3)fragments in a field of view(FOV)of 3.2 m×2.5 m,and the accuracy of the velocity estimation can achieve 98.6%. 展开更多

Analyzing the mass of behind-armor debris (BAD) generated by Rolled Homogeneous Armor (RHA) subjected to normal penetration of variable cross-section Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP) is the purpose of this paper. So theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental data are combined to analyze the influence of variable cross-section characteristic on the time history of crater radius. Moreover the relationships between time history of crater radius (as well as mass of BAD) and the thickness of RHA (from 30mm to 70 mm) and the impact velocity of EFP (1650 m/s to 1860 m/s) are also investigated. The results indicate that: 1) being compared to the variable cross-section characteristic is ignored, the theoretical time history of crater radius is in better agreement with the simulation results when the variable cross-section characteristic is considered;2) being compared to the other three conditions of plug, the theoretical mass of BAD is in the best agreement with the simulation results when the shape of plug is frustum of a cone and the angle between generatrix and bottom is 45- and the axial length of mushroom is considered. 展开更多

To study the shock initiation process of NTO-based polymer bonded explosive JEOL-1(32%octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine(HMX), 32... 3-nitro-1,2,4-tri-azol-5-one(NTO) is a high energy insensitive explosive. To study the shock initiation process of NTO-based polymer bonded explosive JEOL-1(32%octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine(HMX), 32% NTO, 28% Al and 8% binder system), the cylinder test, the gap experiments and numerical simulation were carried out. Firstly, we got the detonation velocity(7746 m/s) and the parameters of Jones-Wilkins-Lee(JWL) equation of state(EOS) for detonation product by cylinder test and numerical simulation. Secondly, the Hugoniot curve of unreacted explosive for JEOL-1 was obtained calculating the data of pressure and time at different Lagrangian positions. Then the JWL EOS of unreacted explosive was obtained by utilizing the Hugoniot curve as the reference curve. Finally, we got the pressure growth history of JEOL-1 under shock wave stimulation and the parameters of the ignition and growth reaction rate equation were obtained by the pressure-time curves measured by the shockinitiation gap experiment and numerical simulation. The determined trinomial ignition and growth model(IG model) parameters can be applied to subsequently simulation analysis and design of insensitive ammunition with NTO-based polymer bonded explosive. 展开更多
