Highly dispersive nanospheres of MnFe204 are prepared by template free hydrothermal method. The nanospheres have 47.3-nm average diameter, narrow size distribution, and good crystallinity with average crystallite size about 22 nm. The reaction temperature strongly affects the morphology, and high temperature is found to be responsible for growth of uniform nanospheres. Raman spectroscopy reveals high purity of prepared nanospheres. High saturation magnetization (78.3 emu/g), low coercivity (45 Oe, 10e = 79.5775 A.cm-1), low remanence (5.32 emu/g), and high anisotropy constant 2.84 × 10^4 J/m3 (10 times larger than bulk) are observed at room temperatures. The nearly snperparamagnetic behavior is ~ spin due to comparable size of nanospheres with superparamagnetic critical thameter Dcr spm The high value of Keff may be due to coupling between the pinned moment in the amorphous shell and the magnetic moment in the core of the nanospheres. The nanospheres show prominent optical absorption in the visible region, and the indirect band gap is estimated to be 0.98 eV from the transmission spectrum. The prepared Mn ferrite has potential applications in biomedicine and photocatalysis. 展开更多

In the present paper, the concentration effect of near-infrared quantum cutting of Tm3+ ion in (Y1-xTmx)3Al5Ol2 powder phosphor is studied by means of experiments and calculations. In addition, the absorption spectra, visible-to-near- infrared excitation and emission spectra, and fluorescence lifetimes are measured. It is found that (Y1-xTmx)3Al5O12 powder phosphor has a strong four-photon near-infrared quantum cutting luminescence of 1788.0-nm 3F4 →3H6 fluores- cence of Tm3+ ion, when excited by 357.0-nm light. It is also found that the up-limit of the four-photon near-infrared quantum cutting luminescence efficiency of (Yo.700Tmo.300)3Al5 O12 powder phosphor is approximately 302.19%. To the knowledge of the authors, this is the first time that a near-infrared quantum cutting efficiency up-limit exceeding 300% has been reported. The results of this manuscript are valuable in aiding the probing of the new generation Ge solar cell. 展开更多

The magnetocaloric effect(MCE) of RT Si and RT Al systems with R = Gd–Tm, T = Fe–Cu and Pd, which have been widely investigated in recent years, is reviewed. It is found that these RT X compounds exhibit various crystal structures and magnetic properties, which then result in different MCE. Large MCE has been observed not only in the typical ferromagnetic materials but also in the antiferromagnetic materials. The magnetic properties have been studied in detail to discuss the physical mechanism of large MCE in RT X compounds. Particularly, some RT X compounds such as Er Fe Si,Ho Cu Si, Ho Cu Al exhibit large reversible MCE under low magnetic field change, which suggests that these compounds could be promising materials for magnetic refrigeration in a low temperature range. 展开更多

TiNi-based shape memory alloys have been extensively investigated due to their significant applications,but a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of electronic structure and electrical transport in a system with martensitic transformations(MT) is still lacking.In this work,we focused on the electronic transport behavior of three phases in Ni_(50-x)Fe_xTi_(50)across the MT.A phase diagram of Ni_(50-x)Fe_xTi_(50) was established based on x-ray diffraction,calorimetric,magnetic,and electrical measurements.To reveal the driving force of MT,phonon softening was revealed using first-principles calculations.Notably,the transverse and longitudinal transport behavior changed significantly across the phase transition,which can be attributed to the reconstruction of electronic structures.This work promotes the understanding of phase transitions and demonstrates the sensitivity of electron transport to phase transition. 展开更多

The Hierarchical Path Computing Element (H-PCE) is a semi-central architecture for computing inter-domain path. To facilitate H-PCE in inter-domain path computing, this paper proposed a topology aggregation scheme to abstract the edge nodes and their connected inter-domain link as one vertex to achieve more optimal paths and confidentiality guarantee. The effectiveness of the scheme has been demonstrated on solving wavelength routing in multi-domain Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) network via simulation. Simulation results show that this scheme reduces at least 10% inter-domain blocking probability, compared with the traditional Domain-to-the-Node (DtN) scheme. 展开更多

The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effects (MCE) of HoNiGa compound are investigated systematically. The HoNiGa exhibits a weak antiferromagnetic (AFM) ground state below the Neel temperature TN of 10 K, and the AFM ordering could be converted into ferromagnetic (FM) ordering by external magnetic field. Moreover, the fie/d-induced FM phase exhibits a high saturation magnetic moment and a large change of magnetization around the transition temperature, which then result in a large MCE. A large -△SM of 22.0 J/kg K and a high RC value of 279 J/kg without magnetic hysteresis are obtained for a magnetic field change of 5 T, which are comparable to or even larger than those of some other magnetic refrigerant materials in the same temperature range. Besides, the μ0H2/3 dependence of |△SPKM| well follows the linear fitting according to the mean-field approximation, suggesting the nature of second-order FM-PM magnetic transition under high magnetic fields. The large reversible MCE induced by metamagnetic transition suggests that HoNiGa compound could be a promising material for magnetic refrigeration in low temperature range. 展开更多
