Lacuna and Universal Model provides a new terminology and classification for the factors behind the success and failure of cross-cultural media content,and thus forms an analysis framework for the study of the cross-cultural audiences'need.According to this model,the audience will dislike or not select foreign media content under these circumstances:(1)audiences find that the content is irrelevant or unsuitable;(2)audiences cannot comprehend the content;3)they do not like the style of such content.This model also argues that cross-cultural media content is successfully spread under these circumstances:(1)the media content shows attractive attribute to cross-cultural audience;(2)the media content is open to alternative readings. 展开更多
