This study investigates the differences in microstructural control between cryogenic forging combined with pre-deformation(PCF)and traditional thermal forging(TTF)for 7050 aluminum forgings intended for aerospace applications.The PCF process,utilizing cryogenic deformation,significantly refines the coarse grains at the surface of the forgings,resulting in a finer and more uniform microstructure,thereby effectively addressing the issue of surface coarse grains associated with traditional methods.The findings indicate that the PCF process can accumulate higher stored energy,facilitating static recrystallization(SRX)during subsequent heat treatment and enhancing the microstructural uniformity.Utilizing various analytical techniques,including optical microscopy(OM),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).This study reveals the superiority of the PCF process in terms of strain accumulation,dislocation density,and grain refinement.In conclusion,this method offers advantages in enhancing the performance and microstructural uniformity of 7050 aluminum forgings,presenting new opportunities for applications in the aluminum forging industry. 展开更多

The selective laser melting(SLM)processed aluminum alloys have already aroused researchers’attention in aerospace,rail transport and petrochemical engineering due to the comprehensive advantages of low density,good corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.In this paper,an Al-14.1Mg-0.47Si-0.31Sc-0.17Zr alloy was fabricated via SLM.The characteristics of single track at different process parameters,and the influence of hatch spacing on densification,microstructural features and tensile properties of block specimens were systematically studied.The hatch spacing has an influence on the overlap ratio of single track,and further affects the internal forming quality of printed specimen.At a laser power of 160 W and scanning speed of 400 mm/s,the densification of block specimen increased first and then decreased with the increase of hatch spacing.The nearly full dense specimen(98.7%)with a tensile strength of 452 MPa was fabricated at a hatch spacing of 80μm.Typical characteristics of dimple and cleavage on the tensile fracture of the AlMgSiScZr alloy showed the mixed fracture of ductility and brittleness. 展开更多

The new forming process of AA6061 alloy tube, including solution treatment, granule medium internal high-pressure forming and aging treatment, was developed. The AA6061 alloy tube via heat treatment satisfied the forming requirement, and the granule medium internal high pressure forming method for AA6061 alloy tube was also realized by using convenient implementation with low requirement of equipment and flexible design of product. At a solution temperature of 560℃ and time of 120 min, the elongation of the AA6061 extruded tube increases by 300% and the strength and the hardness dramatically decrease too. Therefore, the AA6061 alloy tube meets the requirement of internal high-pressure forming because of the improvement of formability. The experiments shows that the strength and hardness of AA6061 alloy workpiece recover to that of the as-received alloy at an aging temperature of 180℃ and time of 360 min, and the strength of AA6061 alloy workpiece is equal to the base alloy. The typical parts of convex ring tube, stepped shaft tube and hexagonal tube were successfully produced in lab by using the present forming method. The forming tests show that the maximum expansion ratio(MER) of the AA6061 extruded tube increases by 25.5% and the material properties of formed AA6061 alloy tube reached the performance of as-received alloy. 展开更多

A two-pass annealing/quenching internal spinning process with small-end rotations is proposed to form a curved generatrix conical thin-walled shell.That is,annealing at 360°C for 2 h followed by the 1st pass spinning,and finally quenching in ice water after holding for 1 h at 498°C followed by the 2nd pass spinning.ABAQUS finite element software is used to simulate the internal spinning process of the products formed under different forming parameters.The distribution laws of spinning force,the stress and strain under different forming processes were compared and analyzed.The mechanical properties and microstructure of the products are subsequently analyzed.The results show that the strain and the residual stress in the skin area of the formed products under two-pass spinning process more uniform,and the hardness and the mechanical performance are improved.The microstructure of the products formed with the 0.15 mm thickness reduction at the 2nd pass is excellent.And the second phase grain size distributed uniformly in the range of 36μm.Whereas,the second phase particles are broken seriously and the size distribution inhomogeneity is increased when the thickness reduction in the skin area is greater than 0.20 mm at the 2nd pass spinning process. 展开更多

As the support mechanism of space-borne antennas,space deployable antenna mechanism belongs to complex multi-closed-loop coupling mechanism,configuration design and dynamic analysis are more difficult than general parallel mechanism.In this paper,an unequal-length scissors mechanism(ULSM)is proposed by changing the position of the internal rotational joint through a basic scissors mechanism.A scissors hoop-rib truss deployable antenna mechanism(SHRTDAM)is constructed by replacing the parabolic rib with the ULSM.Kinematic analysis of SHRTDAM is conducted,and the degree of freedom(DOF)of the whole antenna mechanism is analyzed based on screw theory,the result showed that it has only one DOF.Velocity and acceleration characteristics of SHRTDAM are obtained by the screw derivative and rotation transformation.Based on Lagrange equation,dynamic model of this mechanism is established,the torque required to drive the mechanism is simulated and verified by Adams and MATLAB software.In addition,a ground experiment prototype of 1.5-m diameter was fabricated and a deployment test is conducted,which demonstrated the mobility and deployment performance of the whole mechanism.The mechanism proposed in this paper can provide a good reference for the design and analysis of large aperture space deployable antennas. 展开更多

Based on the traditional hydraulic bulging process,an improved hydraulic bulging process with axial feeding in the bulging process was proposed.The finite element simulation and experiment of bellows formed by the traditional and improved hydraulic bulging processes were conducted.The grid strain measurement system analysis results of strain and wall thickness distribution of the metal bellows,obtained from simulation and experiment,show that the maximum thinning rates of the wall thickness under the traditional and improved processes were 15%and 10%,respectively.And the wall thickness distribution of the metal bellows formed with improved process was more uniform.The strain values from the root to crown of the waveform increased gradually.However,the strain values were smaller than those of traditional process due to the axial feeding of the improved process in bulging process. 展开更多

The forming performance of sheet metals in the deep-drawing process with ultrasonic vibrations can be improved by the surface effect between the sheet metal and the die.A sheet metal friction test with ultrasonic vibrations is performed to explore the cause of the surface effect.The frictional characteristics are investigated,and the corresponding friction expressions are established based on the contact mechanics and the elastic–plastic contact model for rough surfaces.Friction is caused by the elastic–plastic deformation of contacting asperities under normal loads.The actual contacting region between two surfaces increases with normal loads,whereas the normal distance decreases.The normal distance between the contacting surfaces is changed,asperities generate a tangential deformation with ultrasonic vibrations,and the friction coefficient is eventually altered.Ultrasonic vibrations are applied on a 40Cr steel punch at the frequency of 20 kHz and the amplitude of 4.2μm.In the friction tests,the punch is perpendicular to the surface of the magnesium alloy AZ31B sheet metals and is sliding with a relative velocity of 1 mm/s.The test results show that the friction coefficient is decreased by approximately 40%and the theoretical values are in accordance with the test values;Ultrasonic vibrations can clearly reduce wear and improve the surface quality of parts. 展开更多

In order to reveal the force transmission features of the granules in the solid granule medium forming(SGMF) technology,the frictional characteristics of the non-metallic granule medium(NGM) under high pressure were investigated by tests and simulations.And the relevant changing curves of the internal friction coefficient of the granular system under different normal pressures were obtained by self-designed shear test.By the granule volume compression test,the accurate discrete element simulation parameters were obtained,based on this,the discrete element method(DEM) was adopted to reveal the evolution law of the NGM granules movement in the sample shear process from the microscopic view.Based on the DEM,the influence of granule diameter,surface friction coefficient,normal pressure and shear velocity on the internal friction coefficient of the granular system were studied.And the parameters were conducted to be dimensionless by introducing the inertia coefficient.Finally,the expression showing power-law relationship of inertia coefficient,surface friction coefficient and internal friction coefficient is obtained. 展开更多
