Additive Manufacturing(AM)can provide customized parts that conventional techniques fail to deliver.One important parameter in AM is the quality of the parts,as a result of the material extrusion 3D printing(3D-P)procedure.This can be very important in defense-related applications,where optimum performance needs to be guaranteed.The quality of the Polyetherimide 3D-P specimens was examined by considering six control parameters,namely,infill percentage,layer height,deposition angle,travel speed,nozzle,and bed temperature.The quality indicators were the root mean square(Rq)and average(Ra)roughness,porosity,and the actual to nominal dimensional deviation.The examination was performed with optical profilometry,optical microscopy,and micro-computed tomography scanning.The Taguchi design of experiments was applied,with twenty-five runs,five levels for each control parameter,on five replicas.Two additional confirmation runs were conducted,to ensure reliability.Prediction equations were constructed to express the quality indicators in terms of the control parameters.Three modeling approaches were applied to the experimental data,to compare their efficiency,i.e.,Linear Regression Model(LRM),Reduced Quadratic Regression Model,and Quadratic Regression Model(QRM).QRM was the most accurate one,still the differences were not high even considering the simpler LRM model. 展开更多

Several researches have been reported about the characteristic of β-Ga_2O_3 nanowires which was synthesized on nickel oxide particle.But indeed,recent researches about synthesis of β-Ga_2O_3 nanowires on oxide-assisted transition metal are limited to nickel or cobalt oxide catalyst.In this work,Gallium oxide(β-Ga_2O_3)nanowires were synthesized by a simple thermal evaporation method from gallium powder in the range of 700-1000℃ using the iron,nickel,copper,cobalt and zinc oxide as a catalyst,respectively.The β-Ga_2O_3 nanowires with single crystalline without defects were successfully synthesized at the reaction temperature of 850,900 and 950℃ in all the catalysts.But optimum experimental condition in synthesis of nanowires varied with the kind of catalyst.As increasing synthesis temperature,the morphology of gallium oxide nanowires changed from nanowires to nanorods,and its diameter increased.From these results,we could be proposed that the growth mechanism of β-Ga_2O_3 nanowires was changed with synthesis temperature of nanowires.Microstructure and morphology of Synthesized nanowire was characterized by HR-TEM,FE-SEM,EDX and XRD. 展开更多

Law level of RRO(Repeatable Run Out),NRRO(Non Repe at able Run Out),and lightweight construction are a major trend in the high-speed HDD(Hard Disk Drive)sytem to reduce track misregestration and to achieve high track density,which lead to succeed in the market.However,it is not easy to r educe RRO,NRRO,and the weight of the spinning disk spindle system efficiently because lightweight construction and or bearing stiffness changes often yields a decrease in the static and dynamic stiffness of the system,and consequently hi gh vibrations may be generated as a results.Therefore,it is of importance to e valuate in advance the accurate dynamic behavior of the high speed spinning disk spindle system of a HDD sysem.This study introduces an optimum design of the high speed spinning disk spindle system of a HDD for minimum RRO,NRRO,and lightweight construction using a gene tic algorithm.The spinning disk,hub,and bearing components of a HDD system ar e modelled as appropriate finite elements respectively and their equations of mo tion are derived to construct the system equations of the whole spinning disk sp indle system of the HDD system.The RRO and NRRO responses of the spinning disk,due to exciting forces arised from ball bearing faults and rotating unbalance,are analyzed.In the design optimation,the hub thickness,the disk thickness,bearing positio ns(or bearing span)and bearing stiffness were set as design variables.The uni que objective function is obtained by multiplying an appropriate weighting facto r by multi-objective functions,such as RRO,NRRO,and the total weight of HDD the system.The constraints are maximum RRO limit,maximum weight linit,and the critical speed limit of the HDD spindle system.Results show that the RRO,NRRO,and weight are reduced by 6%,66.7%and 28%r espectively compared with the initial design of the HDD system.Therefore,thi s present study can be used for an optimum design of the spinning disk spindle s ystem of a HDD for lightweight construction and low vibrations. 展开更多

An Architecture of Computer Aided Process Planning System Integrated with Scheduling Using Decision Support System

Process planning and scheduling are two major plann in g and control activities that consume significant part of the lead-time, theref ore all attempts are being made to reduce lead-time by automating them. Compute r Aided Process Planning (CAPP) is a step in this direction. Most of the existin g CAPP systems do not consider scheduling while generating a process plan. Sched uling is done separately after the process plan has been generated and therefore , it is possible that a process plan so generated is either not optimal or feasi ble from scheduling point of view. As process plans are generated without consid eration of job shop status, many problems arise within the manufacturing environ ment. Investigations have shown that 20%~30% of all process plans generated are not valid and have to be altered or suffer production delays when production sta rts. There is thus a major need for integration of scheduling with computer aide d process planning for generating more realistic process plans. In doing so, eff iciency of the manufacturing system as a whole is expected to improve. Decision support system performs many functions such as selection of machine too ls, cutting tools, sequencing of operations, determination of optimum cutting pa rameters and checking availability of machine tool before allocating any operati on to a machine tool. The process of transforming component data, process capabi lity and decision rules into computer readable format is still a major obstacle. This paper proposes architecture of a system, which integrates computer aided p rocess-planning system with scheduling using decision support system. A decisio n support system can be defined as " an interactive system that provides the use rs with easy access to decision models in order to support semi-structured or u nstructured decision making tasks". 展开更多

Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method, the resampling step, ere novel techniques are also introduced into Bayesian target tracking.
