To explore the influence of karst cavity pressure on the failure mechanisms of rock layers above water-filled caves, novel blow-out and collapse mechanisms are put forward in this study. The proposed method uses the nonlinear optimization to obtain the failure profiles of surrounding layered rock with water-filled cave at the bottom of the tunnel. By referring to the functional catastrophe theory, stability analysis with different properties in different rock layers is implemented with considering the incorporation of seepage forces since the groundwater cannot be ignored in the catastrophe analysis of deep tunnel bottom. Also the parametric analysis is implemented to discuss the influences of different rock strength factors on the failure profiles. In order to offer a good guide of design for the excavation of deep tunnels above the water-filled caves, the proposed method is applied to design of the minimum effective height for rock layer. The results obtained by this work agree well with the existing published ones. 展开更多

Critical crack tip opening displacement (CTODc) of concrete using experimental and analytical evaluation with seven different compressive strengths ranging from 30 up to 150 MPa was studied based on two types of fracture tests:three-point bending (TPB) and wedge splitting (WS).In the tests,the values of CTODc were experimentally recorded using a novel technique,in which fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors were used,and two traditional techniques,in which strain gauges and clip gauges were deployed.The values of CTODc of tested concrete were also predicted using two existing analytical formulae proposed by JENQ & SHAH and XU,respectively.It is found that the values of CTODc obtained by both experimental measurements and analytical formulae exhibit a negligible variation as the compressive strength of concrete increases,and the test geometry adopted has little impact on the value of CTODc.Regarding the experimental measurement of CTODc,the clip gauge method generally leads to a larger value of CTODc and shows a more significant scatter as compared with the other two methods,while the strain gauge method leads to a slightly lower CTODc as compared with the FBG sensor method.The analytical formula proposed by JENQ and SHAH is found to generally lead to an overestimation,while the analytical formula proposed by XU shows a good accuracy. 展开更多

利用2003年10月北京地区PM10浓度流动观测资料和同期MODIS AOD(Aerosol Optical Depth)高分辨率遥感资料,采用卫星遥感-地面观测变分订正处理方法,综合分析了北京地区PM10浓度的空间分布特征以及机动车排放的影响效应。动态观测试验结... 利用2003年10月北京地区PM10浓度流动观测资料和同期MODIS AOD(Aerosol Optical Depth)高分辨率遥感资料,采用卫星遥感-地面观测变分订正处理方法,综合分析了北京地区PM10浓度的空间分布特征以及机动车排放的影响效应。动态观测试验结果表明:北京城区大部分为轻污染区,北京近郊区PM10浓度高值区沿环路呈环状分布,其中北京西南部、南部和东北部污染较严重,北京城郊街区PM10的空间分布受机动车排放的影响较大。MODIS卫星遥感资料分析表明:北京城区及近郊区AOD值较远郊区高得多,AOD空间分布场中存在虚假高值区,AOD非均匀分布特征不明显。采取点-面结合综合观测研究思路,运用卫星遥感-地面观测综合变分分析方法,可以取得客观订正的显著效果。经地面实测PM10浓度变分订正后的AOD变分场可以较高分辨率信息描述北京地区AOD的非均匀分布特征,弥补地面PM10浓度观测的缺陷。 展开更多

为了解北京城市街区PM10浓度日变化特征及其影响因素,利用2003年10月BECAPEX(Beijing City Air Pollution Experiment)街道、街区及周边小区4个测点PM10浓度的对比观测试验资料和同期街道机动车流量、采样点附近自动气象站风速及探空资... 为了解北京城市街区PM10浓度日变化特征及其影响因素,利用2003年10月BECAPEX(Beijing City Air Pollution Experiment)街道、街区及周边小区4个测点PM10浓度的对比观测试验资料和同期街道机动车流量、采样点附近自动气象站风速及探空资料进行了综合对比分析。通过天气诊断和统计学分析相结合,初步分析了北京市城区街道大气污染物PM10浓度日变化特征及机动车排放污染、气象条件对PM10浓度日变化的影响。结果表明,试验期间北京市城区街道PM10浓度日变化特征存在明显差异,交通源污染物PM10浓度日变化具有单峰与双峰型差异的特殊性。工作日PM10浓度日变化出现双峰,周末PM10浓度日变化仅有单峰出现;交通污染源和气象条件对城市街区PM10浓度日变化特征的影响程度存在空间差异。离交通污染源较近的街区PM10浓度日变化受机动车排放污染的影响程度较大,而离交通源较远的小区PM10浓度受机动车排放污染的影响相对较小;不稳定天气条件下交通污染源影响范围较小,在特定天气条件下,气象条件的影响强度可显著超过交通污染源的影响。 展开更多

我国城镇生活污水处理率低、水体富营养化严重,开发出更为经济合理的污水处理技术,特别是污水现场处理技术,具有重要的现实意义。本研究将常规二级污水处理的氧化沟工艺改造应用于污染湖泊,并用植物浮岛和填料加强,形成一套对被污染的... 我国城镇生活污水处理率低、水体富营养化严重,开发出更为经济合理的污水处理技术,特别是污水现场处理技术,具有重要的现实意义。本研究将常规二级污水处理的氧化沟工艺改造应用于污染湖泊,并用植物浮岛和填料加强,形成一套对被污染的水体及其污染源进行系统处理的工艺。结果表明,本反应器在处理生活污水时,秋冬2个季度COD、SS、TP和NH4+-N的平均去除率分别为70.60%、75.78%、72.60%和52.06%。在夏秋季处理污染的湖水时,进水平均COD、NH4+-N和TP为42.7、13.1和1.09 mg.L-1,出水时降为25.1、6.4和0.38 mg.L-1。本工艺一次性投资低,且节约大量的污水集中费用以及占地费用;而且适应性广,可同时处理污染水体及其污染源废水,可推广应用于具有湖泊、鱼塘、河涌等的污水处理现场,特别是农村乡镇污水处理。 展开更多

We proposed an enhanced image binarization method.The proposed solution incorporates Monte-Carlo simulation into the local thresholding method to address the essential issues with respect to complex background,spatially-changed illumination,and uncertainties of block size in traditional method.The proposed method first partitions the image into square blocks that reflect local characteristics of the image.After image partitioning,each block is binarized using Otsu’s thresholding method.To minimize the influence of the block size and the boundary effect,we incorporate Monte-Carlo simulation into the binarization algorithm.Iterative calculation with varying block sizes during Monte-Carlo simulation generates a probability map,which illustrates the probability of each pixel classified as foreground.By setting a probability threshold,and separating foreground and background of the source image,the final binary image can be obtained.The described method has been tested by benchmark tests.Results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well in dealing with the complex background and illumination condition. 展开更多

Limit analysis of the stability of geomechanical projects is one of the most difficult problems.This work investigates the influences of different parameters in NL failure strength on possible collapsing block shapes of single and twin shallow tunnels with considering the effects of surface settlement.Upper bound solutions derived by functional catastrophe theory are used for describing the distinct characteristics of falling blocks of different parts in twin tunnels.Furthermore the analytical solutions of minimum supporting pressures in shallow tunnels are obtained by the help of the variational principle.Lastly,the comparisons are made both in collapsed mechanism and stability factor with different methods.According to the numerical results in this work,the influences of different parameters on the size of collapsing block are presented in the tables and the limit supporting loads are illustrated in the form graphs that account for the surface settlement. 展开更多

Electrical capacitance volume tomography(ECVT) is a recently-developed technique for real-time,non-invasive 3D monitoring of processes involving materials with strong contrasts in dielectric permittivity.This work is first application of the method to visualization of water flow in soil.We describe the principles behind the method,and then demonstrate its use with a simple laboratory infiltration experiment.32 ECVT sensors were installed on the sides of an empty PVC column.Water was poured into the column at a constant rate,and ECVT data were collected every second.The column was then packed with dry sand and again supplied with water at a constant rate with data collected every second.Data were analyzed to give bulk average water contents,which proved consistent with the water supply rates.Data were also analyzed to give 3D images(216 voxels) allowing visualization of the water distribution during the experiments.Result of this work shows that water infiltration into the soil,wall flow,progress of the unstable wetting front and the final water distribution are clearly visible. 展开更多
