Spatio-temporal impacts of land use patterns on habitat quality:A multi-scenario development analysis

As a tropical island confronting the dual imperatives of tourism-driven economic growth and ecological vulnerability,Hainan's land-use sustainability critically impacts both regional development and coastal ecosystem security.This study employs a coupled PLUS-InVEST modeling framework to analyze land-use changes and habitat quality dynamics from 2000 to 2020,projecting ecological outcomes under three development scenarios for 2030.Key findings reveal:(1)A persistent bimodal habitat distribution pattern,with high-quality areas concentrated in the central forest zone and degraded areas in coastal peripheries,exhibiting a continuous decline over the 20-year period.(2)Accelerated urbanization between 2010 and 2020 resulted in the conversion of ecological land to construction use,correlating strongly with habitat fragmentation intensity.(3)Baseline projections for 2030 indicate that construction land will dominate new conversions.(4)Ecological protection scenarios demonstrate recoverable habitat potentials,particularly within coastal buffer zones.These findings provide empirical validation of scenario-driven land-use planning as a viable tool for island ecosystems,highlighting the critical need to balance tourism infrastructure development with coastal conservation imperatives in tropical island sustainability management.This methodology advances spatial decision-making for balancing island economic growth with biodiversity preservation,offering replicable strategies for global island ecosystems facing similar sustainability challenges. 展开更多

To address the challenges of complex metallic film coating processes and low integration in single-parameter detection for existing photonic crystal fiber surface plasmon resonance(PCF-SPR)sensors,a dual-parameter sensor based on gold nanowire-integrated bias-core PCF-SPR is proposed.Unlike conventional in-hole coatings or metallic film structures,the gold nanowires are directly attached to the fiber cladding via chemical vapor deposition(CVD),eliminating uneven coating issues and significantly simplifying fabrica-tion.By optimizing the asymmetric bias-core fiber structure and leveraging the strong localized field en-hancement of gold nanowires,the sensor achieves high-sensitivity synchronous detection of temperature(25−60℃)and refractive index(1.31−1.40)in dual-polarization modes.The simulation results demonstrate that the x-polarization mode can achieve 1.31−1.40 refractive index detection with maximum wavelength sensitivity and amplitude sensitivity of 14800 nm/RIU and−1724.25 RIU^(−1),and maximum refractive index resolution of 6.75×10^(−6)RIU.The y-polarization mode achieves refractive index detection range of 1.34−1.40,and the maximum wavelength sensitivity and amplitude sensitivity are 28400 nm/RIU and−1298.93 RIU^(−1),and the maximum refractive index resolution is 3.52×10^(−6)RIU.For temperature sensing,the sensor exhibits a wavelength sensitivity of 7.8 nm/℃and a high resolution of 1.38×10^(−6)℃over the range of 25−60℃.This design synergizes gold nanowires and the bias-core architecture to simplify fabrication while enabling multi-parameter detection.The proposed sensor offers new insights for integrated applications in biochemical mon-itoring,environmental sensing,and related fields. 展开更多

Optical memory behavior of MoS_(2) nanoflakes doped liquid crystals hybrid

The memory behavior in liquid crystals(LCs)that is characterized by low cost,large area,high speed,and high-density memory has evolved from a mere scientific curiosity to a technology that is being applied in a variety of commodities.In this study,we utilized molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))nanoflakes as the guest in a homotropic LCs host to modulate the overall memory effect of the hybrid.It was found that the MoS₂nanoflakes within the LCs host formed agglomerates,which in turn resulted in an accelerated response of the hybrids to the external electric field.However,this process also resulted in a slight decrease in the threshold voltage.Additionally,it was observed that MoS₂nanoflakes in a LCs host tend to align homeotropically under an external electric field,thereby accelerating the refreshment of the memory behavior.The incorporation of a mass fraction of 0.1%2μm MoS₂nanoflakes into the LCs host was found to significantly reduce the refreshing memory behavior in the hybrid to 94.0 s under an external voltage of 5 V.These findings illustrate the efficacy of regulating the rate of memory behavior for a variety of potential applications. 展开更多

The acquisition,tracking,and pointing(ATP)system is widely used in target tracking,counter-UAV operations,and other related fields.As UAV technology develops,there is a growing demand to enhance the tracking capabilities of ATP systems.However,in practical applications,ATP systems face various design constraints and functional limitations,making it infeasible to indefinitely improve hardware performance to meet tracking requirements.As a result,tracking algorithms are required to execute increasingly complex tasks.This study introduces a multi-rate feedforward predictive controller to address issues such as low image feedback frequency and significant delays in ATP systems,which lead to tracking jitter,poor tracking performance,low precision,and target loss.At the same time,the pro-posed approach aims to improve the tracking capabilities of ATP systems for high-speed and highly maneuverable targets under conditions of low sampling feedback rates and high feedback delays.The method suggested is also characterized by its low order,fast response,and robustness to model parameter variations.In this study,an actual ATP system is built for target tracking test,and the proposed algorithm is fully validated in terms of simulation and actual system application verification.Results from both simulations and experiments demonstrate that the method effectively compensates for delays and low sampling rates.For targets with relative angular velocities ranging from 0 to 90°/s and angular accelerations between 0 and 470°/s^(2),the system improved tracking accuracy by 70.0%-89.9%at a sampling frequency of 50 Hz and a delay of 30 m s.Moreover,the compensation algorithm demonstrated consistent performance across actuators with varying characteristics,further confirming its robustness to model insensitivity.In summary,the proposed algorithm considerably enhances the tracking accuracy and capability of ATP systems for high-speed and highly maneuverable targets,reducing the probability of target loss from high speed.This approach offers a practical solution for future multi-target tracking across diverse operational scenarios. 展开更多

A phase-domain blind estimator of symbol duration based on Haar wavelet transform(HWT) is proposed.It can estimate the symbol duration of phase modulated signals,such as M-ary phase-shift keying(MPSK) signals and polyphase coded signals.The closed form of the spectrum of HWT is derived.Theoretical analysis shows the frequency of the first spectral peak is equal to the symbol rate,which is the reciprocal of symbol duration.Thus the symbol duration can be extracted from the spectrum.Subsequently,the optimum wavelet scale is determined according to the maximum output signal to noise ratio(OSNR) criterion.MAT-LAB simulations show that this algorithm can blindly estimate the symbol duration without any prior knowledge.This estimator need not estimate the carrier frequency and has the characteristics of low computation complexity and high accuracy. 展开更多

When detecting deletions in complex human genomes,split-read approaches using short reads generated with next-generation sequencing still face the challenge that either false discovery rate is high,or sensitivity is low.To address the problem,an integrated strategy is proposed.It organically combines the fundamental theories of the three mainstream methods(read-pair approaches,split-read technologies and read-depth analysis) with modern machine learning algorithms,using the recipe of feature extraction as a bridge.Compared with the state-of-art split-read methods for deletion detection in both low and high sequence coverage,the machine-learning-aided strategy shows great ability in intelligently balancing sensitivity and false discovery rate and getting a both more sensitive and more precise call set at single-base-pair resolution.Thus,users do not need to rely on former experience to make an unnecessary trade-off beforehand and adjust parameters over and over again any more.It should be noted that modern machine learning models can play an important role in the field of structural variation prediction. 展开更多

Super-resolution reconstruction of synthetic-aperture radar image using adaptive-threshold singular value decomposition technique

A super-resolution reconstruction approach of (SVD) technique was presented, and its performance was radar image using an adaptive-threshold singular value decomposition analyzed, compared and assessed detailedly. First, radar imaging model and super-resolution reconstruction mechanism were outlined. Then, the adaptive-threshold SVD super-resolution algorithm, and its two key aspects, namely the determination method of point spread function (PSF) matrix T and the selection scheme of singular value threshold, were presented. Finally, the super-resolution algorithm was demonstrated successfully using the measured synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) images, and a Monte Carlo assessment was carried out to evaluate the performance of the algorithm by using the input/output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Five versions of SVD algorithms, namely 1 ) using all singular values, 2) using the top 80% singular values, 3) using the top 50% singular values, 4) using the top 20% singular values and 5) using singular values s such that S2≥/max(s2)/rinsNR were tested. The experimental results indicate that when the singular value threshold is set as Smax/(rinSNR)1/2, the super-resolution algorithm provides a good compromise between too much noise and too much bias and has good reconstruction results. 展开更多

After analyzing the instan- taneous frequency and instantaneous bandwidth to deduce the relation between the window length and deviation of the Gaus- sian window, high-order statistics is used to select the appropriate window length for STFT and get the optimal SNR with the right time-frequency resolution according to the signal characteristic under a fixed sampling rate. An alternative elliptical and circle air-hole-assisted Al_(0.24)Ga_(0.76)As photonic crystal fiber(PCF)was proposed for generating broadband high-coherence mid-infrared supercontinuum,and the dispersion,effect-ive mode area and nonlinear coefficient were investigated by using finite element method(FEM),the evolu-tion of optical pulses propagating along the fiber was simulated,and the supercontinuum and the coherence were analyzed and evaluated under different pumping conditions.The results show that a supercontinuum spectrum with a spectral width of 4.852μm can be obtained in the proposed fiber with d_(1)/Λof 0.125,d_(2)/Λof 0.583 and the zero-dispersion wavelength of 3.228μm by pumping with a Gaussian pulse with a peak power of 800 W and a full width at half maximum(FWHM)of 20 fs at wavelength of 3.3μm.When the fiber is pumped by the pulse with the peak power of 2000 W,the FWHM of 80 fs at the wavelength of 4.0μm in the in the anomalous dispersion region,the modulation instability is obviously suppressed,and the high-coher-ence supercontinuum spectrum spanning from 1.1μm to 8.99μm is observed.A part of the pulse energy is transferred to the anomalous dispersion region when pumped at the wavelength of 2.8μm in the normal dis-persion region and a broadband high-coherence supercontinuum spectrum extending from 0.8μm to 9.8μm is generated in the 10 mm proposed fiber.This paper introduces elliptical air holes in the Al_(0.24)Ga_(0.76)As photonic crystal fiber,which enhances flexibility for tailoring the performance of supercontinuum,ultimately achieving the broadest supercontinuum spectrum with the shortest fiber length to date. 展开更多

With the development of global position system(GPS),wireless technology and location aware services,it is possible to collect a large quantity of trajectory data.In the field of data mining for moving objects,the problem of anomaly detection is a hot topic.Based on the development of anomalous trajectory detection of moving objects,this paper introduces the classical trajectory outlier detection(TRAOD) algorithm,and then proposes a density-based trajectory outlier detection(DBTOD) algorithm,which compensates the disadvantages of the TRAOD algorithm that it is unable to detect anomalous defects when the trajectory is local and dense.The results of employing the proposed algorithm to Elk1993 and Deer1995 datasets are also presented,which show the effectiveness of the algorithm. 展开更多

Local quotient image (LQI) is an efficient illumination preprocessing method for face recognition systems. An illumination model and a face model were developed,and their use in the new method was analyzed. Analysis of the method's computational complexity showed it to be efficient. Experimental results on Yale Face Database B showed that the method can effectively eliminate the effects of differences in illumination and provides considerable improvement in recognition rates. 展开更多

In order to improve the performance of multi-objective workflow scheduling in cloud system, a multi-swarm multiobjective optimization algorithm(MSMOOA) is proposed to satisfy multiple conflicting objectives. Inspired by division of the same species into multiple swarms for different objectives and information sharing among these swarms in nature, each physical machine in the data center is considered a swarm and employs improved multi-objective particle swarm optimization to find out non-dominated solutions with one objective in MSMOOA. The particles in each swarm are divided into two classes and adopt different strategies to evolve cooperatively. One class of particles can communicate with several swarms simultaneously to promote the information sharing among swarms and the other class of particles can only exchange information with the particles located in the same swarm. Furthermore, in order to avoid the influence by the elastic available resources, a manager server is adopted in the cloud data center to collect the available resources for scheduling. The quality of the proposed method with other related approaches is evaluated by using hybrid and parallel workflow applications. The experiment results highlight the better performance of the MSMOOA than that of compared algorithms. 展开更多

To find out all dependency relationships in which metaphors probably exist between syntax constituents in a given sentence,a dependency tree matching algorithm oriented to Chinese metaphor processing is proposed based on a research of unordered tree inclusion matching.In this algorithm,the pattern library is composed of formalization dependency syntax trees that are derived from large-scale metaphor sentences.These kinds of metaphor sentences are saved in the pattern library in advance.The main process of this algorithm is up-down searching and bottom-up backtracking revising.The algorithm discovers potential metaphoric structures in Chinese sentences from metaphoric dependency pattern library.Finally,the feasibility and efficiency of the new matching algorithm are further testified by the results of a series of experiments on dependency pattern library.Hence,accurate dependency relationships can be achieved through this algorithm. 展开更多
