The Underwater Communication Link(UCL)is a crucial component of Underwater Wireless Optical Communication(UWOC)systems,requiring optimised design to mitigate the high power attenuation inherent in seawater.To ensure t...The Underwater Communication Link(UCL)is a crucial component of Underwater Wireless Optical Communication(UWOC)systems,requiring optimised design to mitigate the high power attenuation inherent in seawater.To ensure the reliability of an optimal UCL design,it is essential to account for the three primary scattering regimes:forward scattering(FSC),backward scattering(BSC),and isotropic scattering(ISC)in seawater channels.This study introduces a new photon-tracking model based on a discrete equation,facilitating Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS)to evaluate how different scattering regimes influence received photon distribution.Three distinct Scattering Regime Contribution Weight(SRCW)probability sets were employed,each representing different UCL operational configurations dominated by specific scattering regimes.The proposed modeling approach enables a comprehensive assessment of the temporal characteristics of received optical pulses,channel loss,and time spread-ultimately defining the optimal UCL design parameters.The key findings of this study include:(1)Enhancing the FSC regime dominance leads to a quasi-light waveguide effect over link spans and small Fields of View(FOV)<25°,significantly improving channel performance in Harbor seawater compared to Coastal seawater.(2)A well-designed UCL with a small FOV(<25°)can minimise channel loss and time spread,ensuring high capacity and efficient performance in both Coastal and Harbor seawaters.(3)When BSC and ISC contributions exceed FSC dominance,the received optical pulse undergoes significant temporal broadening,particularly for larger FOV angles(>25°)and extended link spans.(4)The developed novel MCS-based discrete equation provides a simple yet robust model for simulating photon propagation in both homogeneous and inhomogeneous underwater channels.These insights contribute to developing more efficient and reliable UCL designs with military standards by enhancing UWOC system performance over a longer linkspan for a given limited optical power across various underwater environments.展开更多

An experimental positioning system based on GSM is proposed, and the architecture is described. TOA method based on GSM signals and TDOA method are used in the experimental system. Moreover, the methods are simulated. The performance of the positioning methods is assessed in the simulation environment, and the accuracy for 67% mobile stations (MS) is 70m in urban areas.展开更多

In this paper, the energy consumption sources of the wireless sensor networks are firstly analyzed, with the digital processing and radio transceiver units being emphasized. Then, we introduce the design scheme of our energy-aware wireless sensor network (GAINS). In GAINS, techniques to conserve the energy are exploited including the energy optimization node, software and energy-efficient communication protocol. An approach to find and detect the attacks is the intrusion detecti...An important problem in wireless communication networks (WCNs) is that they have a minimum number of resources, which leads to high-security threats. An approach to find and detect the attacks is the intrusion detection system (IDS). In this paper, the fuzzy lion Bayes system (FLBS) is proposed for intrusion detection mechanism. Initially, the data set is grouped into a number of clusters by the fuzzy clustering algorithm. Here, the Naive Bayes classifier is integrated with the lion optimization algorithm and the new lion naive Bayes (LNB) is created for optimally generating the probability measures. Then, the LNB model is applied to each data group, and the aggregated data is generated. After generating the aggregated data, the LNB model is applied to the aggregated data, and the abnormal nodes are identified based on the posterior probability function. The performance of the proposed FLBS system is evaluated using the KDD Cup 99 data and the comparative analysis is performed by the existing methods for the evaluation metrics accuracy and false acceptance rate (FAR). From the experimental results, it can be shown that the proposed system has the maximum performance, which shows the effectiveness of the proposed system in the intrusion detection.展开更多

The key parameters of the WPT system include self-inductance, resistance, parasitic capacitance, mutual inductance and S-parameters of coils & resonators were analyzed. The impedance matching method was used to optimize load power and transmission efficiency of the multi-resonator WPT system, and the impedance matching method was realized through adjusting the distances between the coils and resonators. Experiments show that the impedance matching method can effectively improve load power and transmission efficiency for middle range wireless power transfer systems with multiple resonators, at distances up to 3 times the coil radius with efficiency more than 70% and load power also close to 3.5 W.展开更多

The deadbands were respectively set up at the sensor to the contro...The stability analysis and stabilization problems of the wireless networked control systems(WNCSs) with signal transmission deadbands were considered. The deadbands were respectively set up at the sensor to the controller and the controller to the actor sides in the WNCS, which were used to reduce data transmission, furthermore, to decrease the network collision and node energy consumption. Under the consideration of time-varying delays and signal transmission deadbands, the model for the WNCS was presented. A novel Lyapunov functional which took full advantages of the network factors was exploited. Meanwhile, new stability analysis and stabilization conditions for the WNCS were proposed, which described the relationship of the delay bounds, the transmission deadband bounds and the system stability. Two examples were used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. The results show that the proposed approach can guarantee asymptotical stability of the system and reduce the data transmission effectively.展开更多
