In this study, the techniques of high-temperature gas chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry equipped with an electrospray ionization source were applied to reveal the chemical composition of typical heavy oils from western, central, and eastern China. The results indicate that these heavy oils display significant variations in their bulk properties, with initial boiling points all above 200℃. Utilizing pre-treatment and ESI high-resolution mass spectrometry, an analysis of the molecular composition of saturated hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, acidic oxygen compounds, sulfur compounds, basic nitrogen compounds, and neutral nitrogen compounds within the heavy oil was conducted. Ultimately, a semi-quantitative analysis of the molecular composition of the heavy oil was achieved by integrating the elemental content. In recent years, it was reported that surface hydrophobicmodified nanoparticles have important applications in crude oil flow modification. In this work, four kinds of core-shell hybride nanoparticles by grafting poly(octadecyl, docosyl acrylate) and poly(acrylate-α-olefin) onto the surface of nano-sized SiO_(2) were synthesized by grafting polymerization method. The chemical structure of nanoparticles was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The rheological behaviors of crude oil and precipitation of asphaltenes in the presence of nanoparticles were studied by measuring the viscose-temperature relationship curve, the cumulative wax precipitation amount, and morphology of waxes and asphaltenes. The results indicate that the docosyl polyacrylate@SiO_(2) nanoparticle(PDA@SiO_(2)) can reduce the cumulative wax precipitation amount of crude oil by 72.8%, decline the viscosity of crude oil by 85.6% at 20℃, reduce the average size of wax crystals by 89.7%, and inhibit the agglomeration of asphaltene by 74.8%. On the basis of the liquid viscosity dependent model of the particle’s restricted Brownian motion with theFax´en correction taken into account, the liquid viscosity and optical trap stiffness were determined by fitting the theoreticalprediction with the measured power spectral densities of the particle’s displacement and velocity that were derived from thedual-frequency-band particle tracking data. When the SiO2 beads were employed as probe particles in the measurements ofdifferent kinds of liquids, the measurement results exhibit a good agreement with the reported results, as well as a detectionuncertainty better than 4.6%. This kind of noninvasive economical technique can be applied in diverse environments forboth in situ and ex situ viscosity detection of liquids.展开更多

To investigate the key factors that affect the online measurement of refined slag using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS), this study examined the effects of slag composition and temperature on the intensity and stability of the LIBS spectra. The experimental temperature was controlled at three levels: 1350℃, 1400℃, and 1450℃. The results showed that slag composition and temperature significantly affected the intensity and stability of the LIBS spectra. Increasing the Fe content and temperature in the slag reduces its viscosity, resulting in an enhanced intensity and stability of the LIBS spectra. Additionally, 42 refined slag samples were quantitatively analyzed for Fe, Si, Ca, Mg, Al, and Mn at 1350℃, 1400℃, and 1450℃.The normalized full spectrum combined with partial least squares(PLS) quantification modeling was used, using the Ca Ⅱ 317.91 nm spectral line as an internal standard. The results show that using the internal standard normalization method can significantly reduce the influence of spectral fluctuations. Meanwhile, a temperature of 1450℃ has been found to yield superior results compared to both 1350℃ and 1400℃, and it is advantageous to conduct a quantitative analysis of the slag when it is in a “water-like” state with low viscosity.展开更多

However, there remains a dearth of understanding regarding the complex molecular composition inherent to heavy oil. In this study, we employed high-resolution mass spectrometry in conjunction with various chemical derivatization and ionization methods to obtain semi-quantitative results of molecular group compositions of 35 heavy oils. The gradient boosting(GB) model has been further used to acquire the feature importance rank(FIR). A feature is an independently observable property of the observed object. Feature importance can measure the contribution of each input feature to the model prediction result, indicate the degree of correlation between the feature and the target, unveil which features are indicative of certain predictions. We have developed a framework for utilizing physical insights into the impact of molecular group compositions on viscosity. The results of machine learning(ML) conducted by GB show that the viscosity of heavy oils is primarily influenced by light components, specifically small molecular hydrocarbons with low condensation degrees, as well as petroleum acids composed of acidic oxygen groups and neutral nitrogen groups. Additionally, large molecular aromatic hydrocarbons and sulfoxides also play significant roles in determine the viscosity.展开更多

文摘Humic acids(HAs)are widely used as filtrate and viscosity reducers in drilling fluids. However, their practical utility is limited due to poor stability in salt resistance and high-temperature resistance.Hightemperature coal pitch(CP)is a by-product from coal pyrolysis above 650℃.The substance's molecular structure is characterized by a dense arrangement of aromatic hydrocarbon and alkyl substituents. This unique structure gives it unique chemical properties and excellent drilling performance, surpassing traditional humic acids in drilling operations.Potassium humate is prepared from CP(CP-HA-K)by thermal catalysis.A new type of high-quality humic acid temperature-resistant viscosity-reducer(Graft CP-HA-K polymer)is synthesized with CP-HA-K,hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile sodium salt(Na-HPAN),urea,formaldehyde,phenol and acrylamide(AAM)as raw materials. The experimental results demonstrate that the most favorable conditions for the catalytic preparation of CP-HA-K are 1 wt%catalyst dosage,30 wt%KOH dosage,a reaction temperature of 250℃,and a reaction time of 2 h,resulting in a maximum yield of CP-HA-K of 39.58%.The temperature resistance of the Graft CP-HA-K polymer is measured to be 177.39℃,which is 55.39℃ higher than that of commercial HA-K.This is due to the abundant presence of amide, hydroxyl, and amine functional groups in the Graft CP-HA-K polymer, which increase the length of the carbon chains, enhance the electrostatic repulsion on the surface of solid particles. After being aged to 120℃ for a specified duration, the Graft CP-HA-K polymer demonstrates significantly higher viscosity reduction(42.12%)compared to commercial HA-K(C-HA-K).Furthermore,the Graft CP-HA-K polymer can tolerate a high salt concentration of 8000 mg.L-1,measured after the addition of optimum amount of 3 wt%Graft CP-HA-K polymer. The action mechanism of Graft CP-HA-K polymer on high-temperature drilling fluid is that the Graft CP-HA-K polymer can increase the repulsive force between solid particles and disrupt bentonite's reticulation structure.Overall, this research provides novelty insights into the synthesis of artificial humic acid materials and the development of temperature-resistant viscosity reducers, offering a new avenue for the utilization of CP resources.

文摘Sustained casing pressure(SCP)is a crucial issue in the oil and gas production lifecycle.Epoxy resins, exhibiting exceptional compressive strength, ductility, and shear bonding strength, have the potential to form reliable barriers. The injectivity and sealing capacity of the epoxy resin is crucial parameters for the success of shallow remediation operations. This study aimed to develop and assess a novel solid-free resin sealant as an alternative to Portland cement for mitigating fluid leakage. The investigation evaluated the viscosity, compressive strength, and brittleness index of the epoxy resin sealant,as well as its tangential and normal shear strengths in conjunction with casing steel. The flow characteristics and sealing abilities of conventional cement and epoxy resin were comparatively analyzed in cracks. The results showed that the application of a viscosity reducer facilitated control over the curing time of the epoxy resin, ranging from 1.5 to 6 h,and reduced the initial viscosity from 865.53 to 118.71 m Pa,s.The mechanical properties of the epoxy resin initially increased with a rise in curing agent content before experiencing a minor decrease. The epoxy resin containing 30%curing agent exhibited optimal mechanical properties. After a 14-day curing period, the epoxy resin's compressive strength reached81.37 MPa,2.12 times higher than that of cement, whereas the elastic modulus of cement was 2.99 times greater than that of the epoxy resin. The brittleness index of epoxy resin is only 3.42,demonstrating high flexibility and toughness. The tangential and normal shear strengths of the epoxy resin exceeded those of cement by 3.17 and 2.82 times, respectively. In a 0.5 mm-wide crack, the injection pressure of the epoxy resin remained below 0.075 MPa,indicating superior injection and flow capabilities.Conversely, the injection pressure of cement surged dramatically to 2.61 MPa within 5 min.The breakthrough pressure of0.5 PV epoxy resin reached 7.53 MPa,decreasing the crack's permeability to 0.02 D,a mere 9.49%of the permeability observed following cement plugging.Upon sealing a 2 mm-wide crack using epoxy resin, the maximum breakthrough pressure attained 5.47 MPa,3.48 times of cement. These results suggest that epoxy resin sealant can be employed safely and effectively to seal cracks in the cement.

文摘An optical-tweezers-based dual-frequency-band particle tracking system was designed and fabricated for liquid viscositydetection. This kind of noninvasive economical technique can be applied in diverse environments forboth in situ and ex situ viscosity detection of liquids.

文摘A simulated oil viscosity prediction model is established according to the relationship between simulated oil viscosity and geometric mean value of T2spectrum,and the time-varying law of simulated oil viscosity in porous media is quantitatively characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)experiments of high multiple waterflooding.A new NMR wettability index formula is derived based on NMR relaxation theory to quantitatively characterize the time-varying law of rock wettability during waterflooding combined with high-multiple waterflooding experiment in sandstone cores. The remaining oil viscosity in the core is positively correlated with the displacing water multiple. The remaining oil viscosity increases rapidly when the displacing water multiple is low,and increases slowly when the displacing water multiple is high. The variation of remaining oil viscosity is related to the reservoir heterogeneity. The stronger the reservoir homogeneity, the higher the content of heavy components in the remaining oil and the higher the viscosity. The reservoir wettability changes after water injection:the oil-wet reservoir changes into water-wet reservoir, while the water-wet reservoir becomes more hydrophilic;the degree of change enhances with the increase of displacing water multiple. There is a high correlation between the time-varying oil viscosity and the time-varying wettability, and the change of oil viscosity cannot be ignored. The NMR wettability index calculated by considering the change of oil viscosity is more consistent with the tested Amott(spontaneous imbibition)wettability index, which agrees more with the time-varying law of reservoir wettability.

文摘Rapid online analysis of liquid slag is essential for optimizing the quality and energy efficiency of steel production. Meanwhile, a temperature of 1450℃ has been found to yield superior results compared to both 1350℃ and 1400℃, and it is advantageous to conduct a quantitative analysis of the slag when it is in a “water-like” state with low viscosity.

文摘Tungstated zirconia(WO_(3)/ZrO_(2))solid acid catalysts with different WO_(3) contents were prepared by a hydrothermal method and then used in the catalytic aquathermolysis of heavy oil from Xinjiang. The WO_(3)/ZrO_(2) solid acid catalyst was characterized by a range of characterization methods, including X-ray diffraction,NH3-temperature programmed desorption, and pyridine infrared spectroscopy. The WO_(3) content of the WO_(3)/ZrO_(2) catalysts had an important impact on the structure and property of the catalysts. When the WO_(3) mass fraction was 20%,it facilitated the formation of tetragonal zirconia, thereby enhancing the creation of robust acidic sites.Acidity is considered to have a strong impact on the catalytic performance of the aquathermolysis of heavy oil. When the catalyst containing 20%WO_(3) was used to catalyze the aquathermolysis of heavy oil under conditions of 14.5 MPa,340℃,and 24 h,the viscosity of heavy oil decreased from 47266 to 5398 mPa·s and the viscosity reduction rate reached 88.6%.The physicochemical properties of heavy oil before and after the aquathermolysis were analyzed using a saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes analysis, gas chromatography, elemental analysis, densimeter etc. After the aquathermolysis, the saturate and aromatic contents significantly increased from 43.3%to 48.35%and 19.47%to 21.88%,respectively,with large reductions in the content of resin and asphaltene from 28.22%to 25.06%and 5.36%to 2.03%,respectively.The sulfur and nitrogen contents, and the density of the oil were significantly decreased. These factors were likely the main reasons for promoting the viscosity reduction of heavy oil during the aquathermolysis over the WO_(3)/ZrO_(2) solid acid catalysts.

文摘In the present work, the focus has been shifted to the relationship between the PANI morphology and the physicochemical properties, controlled by the amount of added ionic liquids,of the polymerization medium instead of focusing on the structure of the ionic liquids as used to be in the litterature. For that reason,PANI has been synthesized in different weight ratio of[Pyrr][PTS]/water following the standard experimental process. The addition of[Pyrr][PTS]into the polymerization medium controls the morphology of PANI without affecting its structure. Moreover,[Pyrr][PTS]promotes a viscous reaction system without the need of an external source. The viscosity of the polymerization system restricts the diffusion of species that leads to the predominance of the homogeneous nucleation mode during the course of polymerization and, thus, nanostructuring of PANI morphology. As for the ionic conductivity,it reflects the mobility of the ions of the polymerization medium and, thus, the way of its interference with the formed PANI that affects the arrangement and the shape of formed PANI fibers. This relationship between PANI morphology and the physicochemical properties, adjusted by adding ionic liquids,of the polymerization medium is prelaminar and promising. The effect of the ionic liquids on the viscosity as well as on the mobility of the polymerization medium have to be taken into consideration to choose the ionic liquids, which lead to the PANI with desired morphology.

文摘The primary impediment to the recovery of heavy oil lies in its high viscosity, which necessitates a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing its dynamic behavior for enhanced oil recovery. Additionally, large molecular aromatic hydrocarbons and sulfoxides also play significant roles in determine the viscosity.

文摘Hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymers (HPAP) have been synthesized from acrylamide(AM), acrylate (AA), 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) and hydrophobic monomer (AP) in aqueous solution by radical polymerization. New polymer drilling fluids are made up of HPAP, which is used as viscosifiers and encapsulation agents. Properties of this system are reported in this paper. Results indicate that this system has a high value of yield point to plastic viscosity (YP/PV≥0.7), high viscosity at a low-shear rate (LSRV≥30000mPa·s), excellent shear thinning behavior, good solid-carrying behavior, resistance to shear, good thermal stability (as high as 140℃) and salt resistance. The system has excellent behavior in high-density solution of NaCl and in calcium and magnesium rich saline solutions. Hence, HPAP also can be used in saltwater polymer drilling fluids.
文摘Aim To study the relationships between average molecular mass and intrinsic viscosity of polyanhydrides. Methods With chloroform as solvent and petroleum ether as the precipitating agent polyanhydride was separated into a series of grades with different average molecular mass. The absolute average molecular mass (M) and intrinsic viscosity ([]) of every grade were measured. Results and Conclusion The relationships between [] and M of three typical polyanhydrides were obtained from bi-logarithm coordinate plotting of [] versus M.
