Trip generation was predicted based on population expansion, and trip attraction was estimated based on land use intensity coefficient. Congestion pricing includes a branch of TDM strategies; among them, the entry-based cordon pricing, i.e., applying charge on entry, is the most popular because of practicality and social acceptance. Many researchers have investigated different second-best approaches for evaluations of cordon pricing plans, mostly by applying static traffic assignment methods. In this paper,a joint entry-and distance-based scheme is proposed to circumvent the deficiencies intrinsic to each. The optimal joint design is considered as the solution to an optimization problem, in which an equilibrium dynamic traffic assignment model is used to take account of flow variations and represent congestion effects more realistically. The problem is solved for the network of Sioux Falls by using an enumeration algorithm, and the solution is compared with those obtained for distinct entry-and distance-based schemes. Based on the results, the joint tolling has the best performance in reducing the total travel time of the travelers and in alleviating the congestion level inside the cordoned area, while generating a higher level of revenue from tolls. Furthermore, the numerical experiments show the unreliability of the results by static against dynamic modeling approach.展开更多

The operating characteristics of buses and cars under different flow conditions were studied using the simulation model, and the speed-flow models of buses and cars were established based on the simulation results. Finally, the threshold values of traffic flow for the provision of exclusive bus lanes was determined with the target of optimal travel benefits (per capi- ta) , which would provide a basis for the planning and design of exclusive bus lanes on urban roads.展开更多
Travel time estimation is an integral part of Intelligent Transportation Systems, and has been an important component in traffic management and operations for many years. Travel time, being spatial in nature, requires...Travel time estimation is an integral part of Intelligent Transportation Systems, and has been an important component in traffic management and operations for many years. Travel time, being spatial in nature, requires spatial sensors to measure it accurately. Bluetooth is emerging as a promising technology for the direct measurement of travel time, and is reported in a few studies from homogenous traffic conditions. At the same time, there have been no studies on the applicability of Bluetooth for travel time estimation in heterogeneous traffic seen in Istanbul and even that Turkey. Bluetooth data collected from a busy urban road in Istanbul city have been analyzed and the penetration rate was found to be about 5 %. Two wheelers and light motor vehicles have been detected using the Bluetooth sensor and the data have been extrapolated to estimate travel times of other classes of vehicles. The study developed linear relationships between speeds of different classes of vehicles through weighted linear regression methods and were used for the estimation of stream travel time. The results obtained were promising and show that Bluetooth is a cost-effective technology for estimation of travel time for heterogeneous traffic conditions.展开更多
为实现准确的机场流量短期预测,本文建立了基于二次分解方法的分解集成预测模型。首先,应用局部加权回归周期趋势分解(STL,seasonal and trend decomposition procedure based on Loess)算法将原始时间序列分解为趋势项、季节项和余项3...为实现准确的机场流量短期预测,本文建立了基于二次分解方法的分解集成预测模型。首先,应用局部加权回归周期趋势分解(STL,seasonal and trend decomposition procedure based on Loess)算法将原始时间序列分解为趋势项、季节项和余项3个分量,并计算其样本熵。其次,应用遗传算法(GA,genetic algorithm)优化变分模态分解(VMD,variational mode decomposition)参数,对熵值较大的分量进行二次分解。再次,使用极端梯度提升(XGBoost,extreme gradient boosting)对二次分解后的所有分量进行预测,采用加和集成得到最终的预测值。最后,采集国内典型机场实际运行数据进行实例分析。针对北京首都国际机场60 min进场、离场流量时序,本文模型预测的均等系数(EC,equal coefficient)值分别为0.9703、0.9959,相比其他常用模型均有所提高。此外,对于上海浦东、上海虹桥、广州白云3个大型国际机场,本文模型在60 min、30 min统计尺度下进场和离场流量预测的EC值均在0.9700以上,15 min统计尺度下预测的EC值均在0.9500以上。结果表明,本文建立的二次分解集成预测模型具有良好的准确性和普适性,用于机场流量短期预测是可行和有效的。展开更多
