The coupling simulation was performed in a fluid and solid domains under three different fouling conditions: fouling inside the tube, fouling outside the tube, and fouling inside the shell. The flow field, temperature, and pressure distributions in the heat exchanger were solved numerically to analyze the heat transfer performance parameters, such as thermal resistance. It is found that the pressure drop of the heat exchanger and the thermal resistance of the tube wall increase by nearly 30% and 20%, respectively, when the relative fouling thickness reaches 10%. The fouling inside the tube has more impact on the heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger, and the fouling inside the shell has less impact.展开更多

As well, the relation between pore pressure and soil stress was evaluated. The model tests show the vibrations of pore pressure and soil stress as a result of mining activities. The simulation model tells of the response characteristics of pore pressure after mining and its distribution in the sand aquifer. The comparative analysis reveals that pore pressure and soil stress vibration are activated by unexpected events occurring in mines, such as collapsing roofs. An increased pore pressure zone always lies above the wall in front or behind the working face of a mine. Both pore pressure and vertical stress result in increasing and decreasing processes during movements of the working face of a mine. The vibration of pore pressure always precedes soil stress in the same area and ends with a sharp decline. Changes in pore pressure of sand aquifer are limited to the area of stress changes. Obvious changes are largely located in a very small frame over the mining face.展开更多

By using the well measured effective coupling α_(s)^(g)1)(Q) defined from the Bjorken sum rules as a basis, we suggest a novel self-consistency way to fix the αs at all scales: The QCD light-front holographic model is adopted for its infrared behavior, and the fixed-order p QCD prediction under the principle of maximum conformality(PMC) is used for its high-energy behavior. Using the PMC scheme-and-scale independent perturbative series, and by transforming it into the one under the physical V scheme, we observe that a precise αs running behavior in both the perturbative and nonperturbative domains with a smooth transition from small to large scales can be achieved.展开更多

The coil is placed close to the plasma between the vacuum vessel and the blanket to reduce its design power and improve its mitigating ability. The coil works in a high-temperature,high-nuclear-heat and high-magnetic-field environment. Due to the existence of outer superconducting coils, the coil is subjected to an alternating electromagnetic force induced by its own alternating current and the outer magnetic field. The design goal for the ELM coil is to maintain its structural integrity in the multi-physical field. Taking as an example the middle ELM coil(with flexible supports) of ITER(the International Thermonuclear Fusion Reactor), an electromagnetic–thermal–structural coupling analysis is carried out using ANSYS. The results show that the flexible supports help the three-layer casing meet the static and fatigue design requirements. The structural design of the middle ELM coil is reasonable and feasible. The work described in this paper provides the theoretical basis and method for ELM coil design.展开更多

Beam collimators are arranged on both sides of the beam channel for absorbing the divergence beam during the beam transmission process in the EAST-NBI system. The gas baffle entrance collimator(GBEC) is a typical high-heat-flux component located at the entrance of gas baffle. We generated random wave loads based on frequency-domain wave load transfer functions and the Joint North Sea Wave Project (JONSWAP) wave spectrum, designed program codes to solve the motion equations, and then simulated the coupled heave-pitch motion responses of the platform in the time domain. We then calculated and compared the motion responses in different sea conditions and separately investigated the effects of 2nd-order random wave loads and transient wave elevation. The results show that the coupled heave-pitch motion responses of the platform are primarily dominated by wave height and the characteristic wave period, the latter of which has a greater impact. 2nd-order mean wave loads mainly affect the average heave value. The platform's pitch increases after the 2nd-order low frequency wave loads are taken into account. The platform's heave is underestimated if the transient wave elevation term in the motion equations is neglected.展开更多

Using the PMC scheme-and-scale independent perturbative series, and by transforming it into the one under the physical V scheme, we observe that a precise αs running behavior in both the perturbative and nonperturbative domains with a smooth transition from small to large scales can be achieved.

文摘"Generalized mobility"is used to realize the unification of tube flow and seepage in form and the unification of commonly used linear and nonlinear flow laws in form, which makes it possible to use the same form of motion equations to construct unified governing equations for reservoirs of different scales in different regions.Firstly,by defining the generalized mobility under different flow conditions, the basic equation governing fluid flow in reservoir coupling generalized tube flow and seepage is established.Secondly, two typical well test analysis models for coupling tube flow and seepage flow are given,namely,pipe-shaped composite reservoir model and partially open cylindrical reservoir model. The log-log pressure draw-down type-curve of composite pipe-shaped reservoir model can show characteristics of two sets of linear flow. The log-log pressure drawdown plot of partially opened cylindrical reservoir model can show the characteristics of spherical flow and linear flow,as well as spherical flow and radial flow. The pressure build-up derivative curves of the two models basically coincide with their respective pressure drawdown derivative curves in the early stage, pulling down features in the late stage, and the shorter the production time is,the earlier the pulling down feature appears. Finally, the practicability and reliability of the models presented in this paper are verified by three application examples.

文摘In a fusion reactor, the edge localized mode(ELM) coil has a mitigating effect on the ELMs of the plasma. The work described in this paper provides the theoretical basis and method for ELM coil design.

文摘The world's first full Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak(EAST) is designed with the auxiliary heating method of neutral beam injection(NBI)system. Beam collimators are arranged on both sides of the beam channel for absorbing the divergence beam during the beam transmission process in the EAST-NBI system. The gas baffle entrance collimator(GBEC) is a typical high-heat-flux component located at the entrance of gas baffle. An efficient and accurate analysis of its thermodynamic performance is of great significance to explore the working limit and to ensure safe operation of the system under a high-parameter steady-state condition. Based on the thermo-fluid coupled method, thermodynamic analysis and simulation of GBEC is performed to get the working states and corresponding operating limits at different beam extraction conditions. This study provides a theoretical guidance for the next step to achieve long pulse with highpower experimental operation and has an important reference to ensure the safe operation of the system.

文摘In this study, the coupled heave-pitch motion equations of a spar platform were established by considering lst-order and 2nd-order random wave loads and the effects of time-varying displacement volume and transient wave elevation. The platform's heave is underestimated if the transient wave elevation term in the motion equations is neglected.

文摘The heavy water-moderated molten salt reactor(HWMSR)is a newly proposed reactor concept,in which heavy water is adopted as the moderator and molten salt dissolved with fissile and fertile elements is used as the fuel.Issues arising from graphite in traditional molten salt reactors, including the positive temperature coefficient and management of highly radio-active spent graphite waste, can be addressed using the HWMSR.Until now, research on the HWMSR has been centered on the core design and nuclear fuel cycle to explore the viability of the HWMSR and its advantages in fuel utilization. However, the core safety of the HWMSR has not been extensively studied. Therefore,we evaluate typical accidents in a small modular HWMSR,including fuel salt inlet temperature overcooling and overheating accidents, fuel salt inlet flow rate decrease, heavy water inlet temperature overcooling accidents, and heavy water inlet mass flow rate decrease accidents, based on a neutronics and thermal-hydraulics coupled code. The results demonstrated that the core maintained safety during the investigated accidents.

文摘The safety and durability of lithium-ion batteries under mechanical constraints depend significantly on electrochemical, thermal, and mechanical fields in applications.Characterizing and quantifying the multi-field coupling behaviors requires interdisciplinary efforts. Here,we design experiments under mechanical constraints and introduce an in-situ analytical framework to clarify the complex interaction mechanisms and coupling degrees among multi-physics fields. The proposed analytical framework integrates the parameterization of equivalent models,in-situ mechanical analysis, and quantitative assessment of coupling behavior. The results indicate that the significant impact of pressure on impedance at low temperatures results from the diffusion-controlled step, enhancing kinetics when external pressure, like 180 to 240 k Pa at 10℃,is applied. The diversity in control steps for the electrochemical reaction accounts for the varying impact of pressure on battery performance across different temperatures. The thermal expansion rate suggests that the swelling force varies by less than 1.60%per unit of elevated temperature during the lithiation process.By introducing a composite metric,we quantify the coupling correlation and intensity between characteristic parameters and physical fields, uncovering the highest coupling degree in electrochemical-thermal fields. These results underscore the potential of analytical approaches in revealing the mechanisms of interaction among multi-fields,with the goal of enhancing battery performance and advancing battery management.

文摘This paper aims to clarify the influence of system spatial variability on train–track interaction from perspectives of stochastic analysis and statistics.Considering the spatial randomness of system properties in geometry, physics and mechanics, the primary work is therefore simulating the uncertainties realistically, representatively and efficiently. With regard to the track irregularity simulation,a model is newly developed to obtain random sample sets of track irregularities by transforming its power spectral density function into the equivalent track quality index for representation based on the discrete Parseval theorem, where the correlation between various types of track irregularities is accounted for.To statistically clarify the uncertainty of track properties in physics and mechanics in space,a model combining discrete element method and finite element method is developed to obtain the spatially varied track parametric characteristics,e.g.track stiffness and density, through which the highly expensive experiments in situ can be avoided. Finally a train–track stochastic analysis model is formulated by integrating the system uncertainties into the dynamics model.Numerical examples have validated the accuracy and efficiency of this model and illustrated the effects of system spatial variability on train–track vibrations comprehensively.
