Nonperiodic interrupted sampling repeater jamming(ISRJ)against inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR)can obtain two-dimensional blanket jamming performance by joint fast and slow time domain interrupted modulation,which is obviously dif-ferent from the conventional multi-false-target deception jam-ming.In this paper,a suppression method against this kind of novel jamming is proposed based on inter-pulse energy function and compressed sensing theory.By utilizing the discontinuous property of the jamming in slow time domain,the unjammed pulse is separated using the intra-pulse energy function diffe-rence.Based on this,the two-dimensional orthogonal matching pursuit(2D-OMP)algorithm is proposed.Further,it is proposed to reconstruct the ISAR image with the obtained unjammed pulse sequence.The validity of the proposed method is demon-strated via the Yake-42 plane data simulations. 展开更多

It plays a remarkable role in modification and replacement of most of the propellant(gun and rocket) preparations. In this report we present the comparative strategies involved in the syntheses of HNIW with respect to economical and environmental aspects. Various methods reported in the literature on the purification of the crude HNIW(α-HNIW) to obtain ε-form of HNIW(high dense/more potential) are consolidated. Understanding of the structure, morphology, energetics, thermal behavior and their modification to meet the applicability(decreased impact sensitivity) determines the industrial application of HNIW. A compilation of the available literature on the aforementioned characteristic properties for obtaining a value added ε-HNIW is discussed here. This overview also reports the literature available on newer forms of HNIW including derivatives and cocrystals,which increase the performance of HNIW. 展开更多

Elastic wave on seafloor caused by low frequency noise radiated from ship is called ship seismic wave which can be used to identify ship target. In order to analyze the wave components and the propagating properties of ship seismic wave, the numerical calculation of synthetic seismograms on seafloor aroused by a low frequency point sound source is carried out using a wave number integration technique combined with inverse Fourier transform. According to the numerical example of hard seafloor, the time series of seismic wave on seafloor are mostly composed of interface waves and normal mode waves. Each normal mode wave has a well defined low cut-off frequency, while the interface wave doesn't have. The frequency dispersion of normal mode wave is obvious when frequency is lower than 100Hz, while the interface wave is dispersive only in the infra-sound frequency range. The time series of seismic wave is dominated by the interface wave when the source frequency is less than the minimal cut-off frequency of normal mode wave. 展开更多

First the subimage is obtained through frequency processing is pointed out. The imaging difference of a stationary objects and moving object in the subimage based on the frequency division is analyzed from the fundamental principle. Then the developed method combines the shear averaging algorithm to focus on the moving target in the subimage, after the clutter suppression and the focusing position in each subimage is obtained. Next the observation model and the relative movement of the moving targets between the subimages estimate the moving targets. The theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the method is effective and can not only detect the moving targets, but also estimate their motion parameters precisely. 展开更多

A multi-objective intelligent coordinating optimization strategy based on qualitative and quantitative synthetic model for Pb-Zn sintering blending process was proposed to obtain optimal mixture ratio. The mechanism and neural network quantitative models for predicting compositions and rule models for expert reasoning were constructed based on statistical data and empirical knowledge. An expert reasoning method based on these models were proposed to solve blending optimization problem, including multi-objective optimization for the first blending process and area optimization for the second blending process, and to determine optimal mixture ratio which will meet the requirement of intelligent coordination. The results show that the qualified rates of agglomerate Pb, Zn and S compositions are increased by 7.1%, 6.5% and 6.9%, respectively, and the fluctuation of sintering permeability is reduced by 7.0%, which effectively stabilizes the agglomerate compositions and the permeability. 展开更多

With appropriate geometry configuration, helicopter- borne rotating synthetic aperture radar (ROSAR) can break through the limitations of monostatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on forward-looking imaging. With this capability, ROSAR has extensive potential applications, such as self-navigation and self-landing. Moreover, it has many advantages if combined with the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) technology. A novel geometric configuration and an imaging algorithm for helicopter-borne FMCW-ROSAR are proposed. Firstly, by per- forming the equivalent phase center principle, the separated trans- mitting and receiving antenna system is equalized to the case of system configuration with antenna for both transmitting and receiving signals. Based on this, the accurate two-dimensional spectrum is obtained and the Doppler frequency shift effect in- duced by the continuous motion of the platform during the long pulse duration is compensated. Next, the impacts of the velocity approximation error on the imaging algorithm are analyzed in de- tail, and the system parameters selection and resolution analysis are presented. The well-focused SAR image is then obtained by using the improved Omega-K algorithm incorporating the accurate compensation method for the velocity approximation error. FJnally, correctness of the analysis and effectiveness of the proposed al- gorithm are demonstrated through simulation results. 展开更多

5-amino-4-nitrobenzo[1,2-c:3,4-c']bis([1,2,5]oxadiazole)1,6-dioxide(CL-18)exhibits significant potential as an initiating explosive.However,its current synthesis process remains non-scalable due to low yields and ... 5-amino-4-nitrobenzo[1,2-c:3,4-c']bis([1,2,5]oxadiazole)1,6-dioxide(CL-18)exhibits significant potential as an initiating explosive.However,its current synthesis process remains non-scalable due to low yields and safety risks.In this study,we have developed a simple and safe synthetic route for CL-18.It was synthesized from 3,5-dihaloanisole in a four-step reaction with an overall yield exceeding 60%,surpassing all reported yields in the literature.Subsequently,recrystallization of CL-18 was successfully achieved by carefully selecting appropriate solvents and antisolvents to reduce its mechanical sensitivity.Ultimately,when DMF-ethanol was employed as the recrystallization solvent system,satisfactory product yield(>90%)and reduced mechanical sensitivity(IS=15 J;FS=216 N)were obtained.Additionally,CL-18 is derived from the rearrangement of oxygen atoms on i-CL-18 furoxan,and a comparative analysis of their physicochemical properties was conducted.The thermal stability of both compounds is similar,with onset decomposition temperatures recorded at 186 and 182℃respectively.Similarly,they exhibit 5 s breaking point temperatures of 236 and 237℃.Additionally,we present novel insights into the positional-isomerization-laser-ignition performance of CL-18 and its isomer i-CL-18 using laser irradiation for the first time.Remarkably,our findings demonstrate that i-CL-18 exhibits enhanced laser sensitivity,as it can be directly ignited by a 1064 nm wavelength laser,whereas CL-18 lacks this characteristic. 展开更多

The original nonlinear chirp scaling(NCS) algorithm was extended for high precision processing of the highly squinted curvilinear trajectory synthetic aperture radar(CTSAR).Based on the analysis of slant range model and the frequency spectrum characteristics of the echo signal,a novel nonlinear chirp scaling function and more complex phase compensation factors with both velocity and acceleration parameters were proposed in the new algorithm for accommodation to curvilinear trajectory.The processing flow and computational complexity of modified NCS algorithm were fundamentally the same as the original NCS algorithm.However,the higher order phase compensation,range cell migration correction(RCMC) and range-variant secondary range compression(SRC) caused by the non-linear aperture and the severe range-azimuth coupling were accomplished accurately and efficiently without interpolation.Simulation results show that data acquired with a curvilinear aperture and a squint angle up to about 50° for X-band can be processed with no evident degradation of impulse response function. 展开更多

This paper introduces micromotion parameters into the scattering center model to obtain a hybrid micromotion-scattering center model, and then proposes an optimization algorithm based on the maximal likelihood estimation to solve the model for jointly obtaining target motion and scattering parameters. Initial value estimation methods using targets' ghost images are then presented to guarantee the global and fast convergence. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm especially in high precision estimation and multiple targets processing. 展开更多

There are mainly two kinds of equipment to produce synthetic diamond,namely belt press&cubic press.It has been customary in the industry to regard synthetic diamond produced by cubic press is inferior to that made by belt press.With the on-going improvement in technology,know-how&accumulated experiences,perhaps it’s time for us to review the qualities&performances of synthetic diamond made by the cubic press more objectively.Studies were carried out on the performances of the two kinds of diamond by choosing from top brands&top qualities,with coarser mesh sizes 20/30&30/40.Comparisons were made on parameters,such as TI,TTI,PPC,bulk density,compact,roughness and arealight.And the diamonds chosen were used to produce the relevant diamond core drill bits and saw blades,their respective cutting performances such as cutting efficiency,segments consumption were measured and reported in this paper.The report demonstrates that producing the high quality diamond does not depend on the type of presses(Belt or Cubic)but rather on the know-how,technology and what it is made. 展开更多

In electromagnetic countermeasures circumstances,synthetic aperture radar(SAR)imagery usually suffers from severe quality degradation from modulated interrupt sampling repeater jamming(MISRJ),which usually owes considerable coherence with the SAR transmission waveform together with periodical modulation patterns.This paper develops an MISRJ suppression algorithm for SAR imagery with online dictionary learning.In the algorithm,the jamming modulation temporal properties are exploited with extracting and sorting MISRJ slices using fast-time autocorrelation.Online dictionary learning is followed to separate real signals from jamming slices.Under the learned representation,time-varying MISRJs are suppressed effectively.Both simulated and real-measured SAR data are also used to confirm advantages in suppressing time-varying MISRJs over traditional methods. 展开更多

Synthetic Human Embryo-Like Structure: A New Paradigm for Human Embryology

Recent studies from my laboratory and others haveshown that under suitable culture conditions human pluripotent stem cells ( hPSCs) can undergo intricate morphogenetic eventsand self-organize to form patterned human embryo-like structures in vitro. These synthetic human embryonic tissueshold great promises for advancing human embryology and reproductive medicine. In this talk,I will describe a hPSC-based,synthetic 3D model of human post-implantation development that recapitulates key developmental landmarks successively,including pro-amniotic cavity formation,amniotic ectoderm-epiblast patterning,primordial germ cell specification,and developmentof the primitive streak with controlled anteroposterior polarity ( Fig.1) . We further show that the amniotic ectoderm,as the first lineage that segregates from the epiblast upon implantation of the human embryo,functions as a signaling centerto trigger primitive streak development in the epiblast. Together,our research has developed a powerful synthetic embryologicalmodel and provided new understandings of previously inaccessible but critical embryogenic events in human development. 展开更多

Recently we have synthesized a novel small retinoid molecule WYC-209 that can effectively inhibit proliferation of malignant murine melanoma tumor-repopulating cells(TRCs).The molecule can induce 100%TRCs apoptosis at 10μM concentration.However,how WYC-209 induces TRCs apoptosis is still elusive.Here we demonstrate that WYC-209 at>6μM concentration started to induce TRCs apoptosis primarily via the caspase 3 pathway by releasing cytochrome c from mitochondria.Interestingly,we found that at concentrations<6μM WYC-209 induced TRCs to elevate dormancy marker COUP TF1 but induced no changes in apoptosis marker P53.Furthermore,proliferation markers Ki67 and PCNA decreased with the increase of WYC-209 concentrations,suggesting that low concentrations of WYC-209 inhibit TRCs growth by inducing cell dormancy instead of causing apoptosis.In addition,TRC traction forces were almost abolished when WYC-209 concentration was at 5μM,preceding the initiation of apoptosis.Our findings demonstrate that inhibition of TRCs by anti-cancer molecule WYC-209 is concentration-dependent and WYC-209 inhibits cellular force generation of the tumor-repopulating cells before inducing apoptosis. 展开更多

With the growth of capacity of high voltage direct current(HVDC) transmission lines,the ratings of thyristor valves,which are one of the most critical equipments,are getting higher and higher.Verification of performance of thyristor valves particularly designed for HVDC project plays an important role in the handover of products between the manufacturer and the client.Conventional test facilities based on philosophy of direct test cannot meet the requirements for modern thyristor valves.New test facilities with high ratings are necessarily built based on philosophy of synthetic test.Over the conventional direct test circuit,the later is an economical and feasible solution with less financial investment and higher test capability.However,the equivalency between the synthetic test and the direct test should be analyzed technically in order to make sure that the condition of verification test in a synthetic test circuit should satisfy the actual operation condition of thyristor valves existing in a real HVDC project,just as in a direct test circuit.Equivalency analysis is focused in this paper,covering the scope of thyristor valves' steady state,and transient state.On the basis of the results achieved,a synthetic test circuit of 6 500 A/50 kV for operational tests of thyristor valves used for up to UHVDC project has newly been set up and already put into service in Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co.,Ltd.(XIHARI),China.Some of the results have been adopted also by a new national standard of China. 展开更多

The preparation of a synthetic pitch from aromatic monomers could easily regulate structure orientation at the molecu-lar level,which would be useful in fabrication.An isotropic synthetic pitch was prepared by a chlorine-and/or nitrogen-induced sub-stitution polymerization reaction method using aromatic hydrocarbon precursors containing Cl and N,which for this study were chloromethyl naphthalene and quinoline.This method was verified by investigating the structural changes under different synthesis conditions,and the synthesis mechanism induced by aromatics containing Cl was also probed.The result shows that the pyridinic N in quinoline contains a lone pair of electrons,and is an effective active site to induce the polymerization reaction by coupling with aromatic hydrocarbons containing Cl.The reaction between such free radicals causes strong homopolymerization and oligomeriza-tion.A higher reaction temperature and longer reaction time significantly increased the degree of polymerization and thus increased the softening point of the pitch.A linear molecular structure was formed by the Cl substitution reaction,which produced a highly spinnable pitch with a softening point of 258.6℃,and carbon fibers with a tensile strength of 1163.82 MPa were obtained.This study provides a relatively simple and safe method for the preparation of high-quality spinnable pitch. 展开更多

Characterization and synthetic biology elements of nonmodel bacteria,Acetobacteraceae

Acetobacteraceae has garnered significant attention because of its unique properties and the broad applications of the bacterial cellulose it produces.However,unlike model strains,Acetobacteraceae have few synthetic biology applications because they are difficult to manipulate genetically and have insufficient genetic regulatory elements,among other factors.To address this limitation,this study characterized the fundamental properties and synthetic biology elements of three commonly used bacterial cellulose-producing strains.First,the basic characteristics of the three strains,including their cellulose film production ability,division time,antibiotic susceptibility,and plasmid features,were analyzed.Two inducible promoters(pTrc and pLux101)were subsequently characterized within the three strains.The inducibility of the pTrc promoter was relatively low across the three strains(induction ratio:1.98–6.39),whereas the pLux101 promoter demonstrated a significantly greater level of inducibility within the three strains(induction ratio:87.28–216.71).Finally,through gene knockout experiments,this study identified four genes essential for bacterial cellulose film production in the genome of the Gluconacetobacter hansenii ATCC 5358 strain.This study not only enriches the library of synthetic biology elements in nonmodel strains,but also lays the foundation for the synthetic biology applications of Acetobacteraceae. 展开更多
