Flame Retardant and Pyrolytic Behaviors of Polyamide 6/Montmorillonite Nanocomposite 被引量:2

Na +-montmorillonite(Na +-MMT) was converted to organic montmorillonite(OMMT) using modifier which was synthesized at authors’ laboratory. PA6/OMMT nanocomposite was prepared via in situ intercalative polymerization. The limiting oxygen index (LOI), UL 94V flame retardancy and thermal stability of PA6/OMMT using thermal gravity analysis (TGA) were measured. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) technique was used to analyze the pyrolytic residuum and the cone calorimeter (CONE) was applied to determine a number of combustion parameters which were closely related to fire safety, including heat release rate, mass loss rate, effective combustion heat, total heat release, specific extinction area and the time of ignition. In addition, the elemental composition of the surface pyrolytic residuum and the corresponding X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data were obtained, and the morphology of the residuum from CONE measurement was examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM). 展开更多

Three types of mine gas samples were used in the solutions of tetrahydrofuran(THF),sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)and THF-SDS with/without MMT respectively to investigate the effect of montmorillonite(MMT)on separation characteristics of methane recovered from mine gas based on hydrate method.The partition coefficient,separation factor and recovery rate were used to evaluate the effects of MMT,and the selection factor was primarily proposed to define the selectivity of mine gas hydrate in the relative target gases.The experimental results indicate that MMT could improve the following factors including hydration separation factor,the selection factor,the partition coefficient,and the recovery rate.Furthermore,the effect of SDS on the function of MMT is analyzed in the process of hydration separation.Finally,due to the results of the experiment,it is concluded that MMT hydration mechanism explores the effect of MMT enrichment methane from mine gas. 展开更多

The effects of the cell parameter and chemical composition on the surface charge properties of five kinds of different colour montmorillonites were studied. The results indicate that the surface isoelectric point(IEP) of the montmorillonite shows positive correlation with the mass fractions of Fe203 and K20, but it has little relation to the mass fractions of other chemical compositions. At around pH=6.8, the surface zeta potential of the montmorillonite shows the negative relationship with the mass fractions of Fe203 and MgO, but it does not linearly correlate to the mass fractions of other chemical compositions. Cell parameter(bo) of the montmorillonite expresses negative linear relationship with mass fractions of K2O and Na2O, so does cosinβ with mass fractions of SlOE and Fe2O3. And there is no specific relationship between bo and IEP of different montmorillonites, but there is positive correlation between cosinβ and IEP of different montmorillonite samples. 展开更多

In this paper,organic montmorillonite(OMMT)was added into crumb rubber modified asphalt(CRMA)to improve its high temperature performance,anti-aging performance and storage stability.The effects of different OMMT content on properties of CRMA were studied.The rutting factor obtained by dynamic shear rheological(DSR)test was adopted to evaluate the high-temperature performance.The creep stiffness and m value determined by the bending beam rheometer(BBR)test were employed to evaluate the low-temperature performance.The softening point,ductility,rutting factor before and after rolling thin film ovens test(RTFOT)and pressure aging vessel test(PAV)were compared to characterize the aging properties.Moreover,the segregation test after being reserved for 48 h and 7 d was conducted,and the softening point and rutting factor of upper and lower layers of segregation pipe were adopted to evaluate the storage stability.The results indicated that the high-temperature performance and anti-aging performance were developed with the increasing content of OMMT,while the low-temperature performance deteriorated.The storage stability was improved with the increasing content of OMMT before the content exceeded 4%,after which the storage stability declined.Taking account of all factors,it is suggested that the optimum content of OMMT is 3%−4%. 展开更多

Na-montruorillonite (Na-MMT) was exchanged with three quaternary atkylphosphonium salts: decyl tributylphosphonium bromide (DTBPBr), dodecyl tributylphosphonium bromide (DDTBPBr) and hexadecyl tributylphosphonium bromide (HDTBPBr), to investigate the effects of phosphonium salts species and relative molecular mass on the characteristics, morphology, thermal stability and long-acting antibacterial property of phosphonium montmorillonites. The resulting modified montmorillonites were characterized by the FTIR, XRD, TEM, and TG/DTG techniques. And minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was used to investigate antibacterial activity. The results show that the phosphonium salts are intercalated into Na-MMT, and the basal spacing of P-MMTs is enlarged with the increase of phosphonium salt content or the growth of alkyl chain length. DDTBP-MMT-3 with 19.83% (mass fraction of dodecyl tributylphosphonium salts, displays excellent thermal stability and long-acting antibacterial activity. 展开更多

Different composites of organomodified montmorillonite(OMMT)/bitumen were prepared by melt blending with hexadecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium modified montmorillonite(HBM) and double octadecyl dimethyl ammonium modified montmorillonite(DOM).The structures of two kinds of montmorillonite modified bitumen were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD).The effects of different montmorillonites on the dynamic rheological properties of the modified bitumens were investigated by dynamic shear rheometer(DSR).The XRD results show that DOM modified bitumen forms an intercalated structure,whereas the HBM modified bitumen forms an exfoliated structure.DSR results indicate that OMMT modified bitumens exhibit higher complex modulus,lower phase angle than pristine bitumen,which means that the resistance to rutting at high temperatures of pristine bitumen is improved due to the introduction of OMMT.Compared with DOM modified bitumen,HBM modified bitumen shows better rutting resistance,which is contributed to the formation of exfoliated structure in HBM modified bitumen. 展开更多

Organic montmorillonite(OMMT) modified bitumen nanocomposites was prepared by melt blending.The effects of thin-film oven test(TFOT) and pressure ageing vessel(PAV) on rheological properties of pristine bitumen and OMMT modified bitumen were investigated by dynamic shear rheometer(DSR).The results show that complex modulus(G*) increases,phase angle(δ) decreases and rutting factor(G*/sin δ) is enhanced for the pristine bitumen after TFOT,whereas G*,δ and G*/sin δ of OMMT modified bitumen have a little change before and after TFOT.Besides,the pristine bitumen exhibits a large increase of G* and a great decrease of δ after PAV aging.However,the changes in G* and δ of OMMT modified bitumen are small before and after PAV.Compared with the pristine bitumen,OMMT modified bitumen presents a lower fatigue factor(G*sin δ) after PAV.As a consequence,resistance to thermal-oxidative aging of bitumen is remarkably improved due to the introduction of OMMT. 展开更多

The interlayer region of clay minerals not only provides storage space for organic matter, but also possesses solid acid sites; and these acid sites were proposed to be involved with the transformation of organic matter into liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons. However, the effect of the organic matter storage in the interlayer space of clay minerals on the hydrocarbons generation has not been made clear. In this study, the interlayer complex of 12-aminolauric acid (ALA) and Na+-montmorillonite (Na+-Mt), labeled as ALAinter-Mt (Na), was synthesized to investigate the role of the interlayer space of montmorillonite in hydrocarbon generation. Simply mixed ALA-Mt complex [ALA-Mt (Na)] was also prepared for comparison. Organoclays synthesized with small organic cations can effectively adsorb hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs), and the hydrophobic siloxane surfaces of clay minerals have been considered as the main adsorption sites for HOCs. Therefore, reducing charge density of clay minerals which can effectively increase the exposed siloxane surface areas has been generally used to enhance the adsorption capacity of organoclays towards HOCs. In this work, we will present a new method to increase the exposed siloxane surface areas of the synthesized organoclays and enhance their adsorption capacity. Firstly, the original inorganic cations on montmorillonite were exchanged with Li+, and then part of the Li+ (i.e., 20% to 60% of the montmorillonite’s CEC) were further exchanged with tetramethylammonium cation (TMA). After that ,the samples were heated at 200 ℃ for 12 h to make sure most of the Li+ were transferred to montmorillonite layers. With this method the layer charge of montmorillonite can be effectively reduced while the layered structure of montmorillonite will be preserved by pre-exchanged TMA. Finally, the remaining Li+ cations were further exchanged with TMA. The structural and adsorptive characteristics of the resulting organoclays were compared with those synthesized using traditional method (i.e., first reducing the charge density and then exchanging TMA). 展开更多

The hydrated-titanium-oxide/montmorillonite composite samples were prepared using a hydrolysation- intercalation composite method by controlling the amount of TiOSO4·2H2O. The TiO2/montmorillonite composite samples were got after calculated at 700℃ and 1100 ℃. The results show that: when the value of Ti/montmorillonite is 12.5 mmol/g, the c axis of hydrated-titanium-oxide/ montmorillonite composite sample began to disorder, moreover, the crystal size of anatase is just 13.4nm in the TiO2/montmorillonite composite sample calculated at 700 ℃, and after calculated at 1100 ℃, the crystal size of anatase is 55.8 nm, and the relative content of anatase reaches the highest (55.7%). Compared with pure TiO2 nano-particle sample, TiO2/montmorillonite composite sample has a higher phase transition temperature from anatase phase to rutile phase and smaller crystal size of TiO2. Montmorillonite structure layer has a significant blocking effect on TiO2 phase transformation and grain growth, and the blocking effect reaches saturation when the value of Ti/montmorillonite is 12.5 mmol/g. 展开更多

Shale gas, which is derived from organic matters in shale and stored in shale deposits, is an important unconventional gas resource and attracts attention due to its significant requirement in the hydrocarbon production. Methane (CH4) is the dominant component of shale gas, and adsorbed gas is an important reservoir form. Many studies have investigated the adsorption capacities and adsorption mechanisms of CH4 in shale. Organic matters and clay minerals have been proposed to be the two major components for CH4 adsorption. Adsorption of CH4 in organic matters, such as the adsorption capacity and effects of characteristics of the organic matters, has been well investigated. However, studies on CH4 adsorption on clay minerals have mainly focused on evaluating the adsorption capacity, and very little information about the adsorption mechanism has been provided. For example, the adsorption sites and factors influencing CH4 adsorption on clay minerals remain unclear. Three main reasons account for this: (1) the co-existence of organic matters in samples affects the evaluation of CH4 adsorption on clay minerals; (2) the pressures used during adsorption are not representative of actual reservoir pressures; and (3) the clay minerals selected have low swelling capacity and a smaller interlayer distances than a CH4 size, resulting in the misunderstanding of the CH4 adsorption sites. 展开更多

In order to make montmorillonite (MMT) nanosheets disperse in low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with highly homogeneous orientation, alternating voltage is applied to molten LDPE with MMT nanosheets. The effect of electric field on the dispersion of MMT in the solidified LDPE is studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses suggest that the MMT nano- sheets are aligned with high anisotropy to the electric field direction, which is perpendicular to the LDPE film plane. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results reveal that the crystallization degree of the oriented LDPE/MMT composite increases. Moreover, through a broadband dielectric spectroscopy analyzer, it is found that MMT manifests a significantly influence in the dielectric property of the oriented composite: the dielectric constant and loss tangent of the composite both become larger. Analysis shows that the electric field-induced torque caused by the polarization of MMT flakes is the main force inducing the orientation of the MMT flakes. 展开更多

Relation Between Mechanical Constraints and The Hydration Behaviour in the Case of Na-Montmorillonite:Structural Analysis and Elastics Properties

The experimental prediction of the mechanical properties of minerals remains difficult because of their small particle size (typically < 2 micrometers). This work aims at examining, the effect of an applied mechanical constraint on the hydration behaviour in the case of Na rich-montmorillonite and its relation with the elastic properties. The mechanical constraint is created, at the laboratory scale, by applying a monoaxial pressure for unstressed host material (i.e. Na rich montmorillonite). The structural analysis before and after stress is achieved using an XRD profile modeling approach. This investigation allowed us to determine several structural parameters related to the nature, abundance, size, position and organization of exchangeable cation and water molecule in the interlamellar space along the c* axis. In order to evaluate the affected elastic properties, the GULP code have been used to study the structure and the interlamellar organization. Indeed, the bulk modulus and elastic constants of montmorilonite have been calculated from first principles within density functional theory (DFT). The obtained Young’s modulus for Na-montmorillonite interlayer varies from 5 GPa to 16 GPa. According to the interlamellar space configuration the calculated elastic constant tensors indicate that the a direction is slightly more flexible than the b direction. The calculated elastic constant tensor along c is much lower than the constants calculated along a and b. 展开更多

二维纳米填料/聚乙烯醇新型阻湿涂布液的制备及其性能研究

目的制备椰油酰胺丙基甜菜碱(CAB)改性蒙脱土(OMMT)和改性六方氮化硼(M-h-BN)与聚乙烯醇(PVA)混合后的涂布液,研究二维纳米填料种类和比例对复合涂布液性能的影响规律。方法利用X射线衍射仪、傅里叶红外分光光度计、扫描电子显微镜等现... 目的制备椰油酰胺丙基甜菜碱(CAB)改性蒙脱土(OMMT)和改性六方氮化硼(M-h-BN)与聚乙烯醇(PVA)混合后的涂布液,研究二维纳米填料种类和比例对复合涂布液性能的影响规律。方法利用X射线衍射仪、傅里叶红外分光光度计、扫描电子显微镜等现代分析手段对二维填料、复合涂布液及涂布纸进行表征与性能测试。结果MMT和h-BN改性后,其层间距增大,得到的OMMT和M-h-BN在PVA溶液中分散性良好。涂布纸的拉伸强度和断裂伸长率随填料含量的增加,呈现先上升后下降的趋势。当OMMT/M-h-BN复合填料质量分数为4%时,涂布纸的拉伸强度和断裂伸长率最大为35.35 MPa、108.03%。质量分数为4%OMMT/M-h-BN/PVA涂布纸的24 h水蒸气透过率仅为22 g/(m^(2)·d),较纯PVA降低63%。OMMT/M-h-BN/PVA涂布纸的吸湿和放湿率分别稳定在3.77%和2.71%,较纯PVA分别降低48%和54.5%。结论适当的OMMT和M-h-BN添加量可以显著提升涂布纸的拉伸强度、断裂伸长率和阻湿性能,同时复合填料由于OMMT与M-h-BN的协同作用,相比单一填料能更有效地提升涂布纸的综合性能。 展开更多

混凝土表面C_(3)N_(5)/蒙脱石水泥涂层降解有机污染物性能研究

活性中心富氮氮化碳(C_(3)N_(5))负载到蒙脱石MK30表面原位制备得到C_(3)N_(5)/MK30光催化剂。通过X射线衍射(XRD)、傅里叶红外光谱(FT-IR)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)、紫外可见漫反射光谱(UV-vis DRS)、光致发光光谱(PL)和电化学交流阻抗... 活性中心富氮氮化碳(C_(3)N_(5))负载到蒙脱石MK30表面原位制备得到C_(3)N_(5)/MK30光催化剂。通过X射线衍射(XRD)、傅里叶红外光谱(FT-IR)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)、紫外可见漫反射光谱(UV-vis DRS)、光致发光光谱(PL)和电化学交流阻抗谱(EIS)等手段表征了光催化剂的晶型、官能团、元素组成、光谱响应、光电子-空穴复合和电荷传质阻力等。结果表明,MK30作为载体负载后有效促进了C_(3)N_(5)光电子-空穴的分离,电荷转移速率提高,可见光照射60 min实现了对四环素(TC)溶液的高效降解,降解率达到了97.15%,回收C_(3)N_(5)/MK30光催化剂循环使用仍然表现出良好的活性。通过水泥涂层的形式将C_(3)N_(5)/MK30光催化剂涂覆到混凝土表面,C_(3)N_(5)/MK30掺入量为6.5%(质量分数)时表现出最佳的光催化活性。6.5%C_(3)N_(5)/MK30光催化涂层实现了对表面25 mL质量浓度为200 mg/L的TC溶液最高的降解率(92.96%),水泥涂层用高压水枪冲刷干燥后继续循环使用仍表现出91.72%的较高降解率。C_(3)N_(5)/MK30起到了“晶核”的作用促进了水泥的水化和水化产物的生成,生成的大量水化产物可以有效填充孔隙,使得混凝土基体和水泥涂层之间结合更加紧密,使得养护7、28 d混凝土抗压强度分别提高了20.53%和9.26%。 展开更多
