For utilizing groundwater resource continuably, groundwater vulnerability evaluation is necessary. Useful reference to protect, exploit and utilize on groundwater resource are provided rationally. According to the real condition of Sanjiang Plain, the indexes system is established based on the traditional DRASTIC model. The new system includes the following seven indexes: Depth of Water, Net Recharge, Aquifer Media, Soil Media, Conductivity of the Aquifer, Land Utilizing Ratio and Populace Density. The related analysis appears that the system is rather reasonable. Because traditional methods, such as analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy mathematics theory, can't be avoided human interference in selection of weights, they could lead to an imprecise result. In order to evaluate the groundwater vulnerability reasonably, entropy weight coefficient method is applied for the first time, which provides a new way to groundwater vulnerability evaluation. The method is a model whose weights are insured by the calculation process, so the artificial disturb can be avoided. It has been used to evaluate the groundwater vulnerability in Sanjiang Plain. The satisfied result is acquired. Comparably, the same result is acquired by the other method named projection pursuit evaluation based on real-coded accelerating genetic algorithm. It shows that entropy weight coefficient method is applicable on groundwater vulnerability evaluation. The evaluation result can provide reference on the decision-making departments.展开更多

Due to the lack of sufficient experience in commercial plant operation, HAT cycle has a great demand for modeling and simulation of the system and its components, especially the saturator, to provide reference for system design and optimization. The conventional saturator models are usually based on the theory of heat and mass transfer, which need two accurate coefficients to ensure convincing results. This work proposes a global heat and mass transfer coefficient based on cooling tower technology to model the saturator in small-scale HAT cycle. Compared with the experimental data, the simulation results show that the proposed model well predicts the dynamic humidity and temperature distribution characteristics of saturator at low air pressure and temperature.展开更多

Aiming at the imperfect prior information, this paper proposes an RUL prediction method based on a n...Remaining useful life(RUL) prediction is one of the most crucial elements in prognostics and health management(PHM). Aiming at the imperfect prior information, this paper proposes an RUL prediction method based on a nonlinear random coefficient regression(RCR) model with fusing failure time data.Firstly, some interesting natures of parameters estimation based on the nonlinear RCR model are given. Based on these natures,the failure time data can be fused as the prior information reasonably. Specifically, the fixed parameters are calculated by the field degradation data of the evaluated equipment and the prior information of random coefficient is estimated with fusing the failure time data of congeneric equipment. Then, the prior information of the random coefficient is updated online under the Bayesian framework, the probability density function(PDF) of the RUL with considering the limitation of the failure threshold is performed. Finally, two case studies are used for experimental verification. Compared with the traditional Bayesian method, the proposed method can effectively reduce the influence of imperfect prior information and improve the accuracy of RUL prediction.展开更多

The characteristic model(CM) based all-coefficient adaptive control(ACAC) designed for PPF systems in horizontal and vertical trajectory control is proposed. The method is easy to use and convenient to adjust and test. Just a few parameters are adapted during the control process. In application, vertical and horizontal CMs are designed and ACAC controllers are constructed to control vertical altitude and horizontal trajectory of PPF based on the proposed CMs, respectively. Result analysis of different simulations shows that the applied ACAC control method is effective for trajectory tracking of the PPF systems and the approach guarantees the transient performance of the PPF systems with better disturbance rejection ability.展开更多
In this paper,a feature selection method for determining input parameters in antenna modeling is proposed.In antenna modeling,the input feature of artificial neural network(ANN)is geometric parameters.The selection cr...In this paper,a feature selection method for determining input parameters in antenna modeling is proposed.In antenna modeling,the input feature of artificial neural network(ANN)is geometric parameters.The selection criteria contain correlation and sensitivity between the geometric parameter and the electromagnetic(EM)response.Maximal information coefficient(MIC),an exploratory data mining tool,is introduced to evaluate both linear and nonlinear correlations.The EM response range is utilized to evaluate the sensitivity.The wide response range corresponding to varying values of a parameter implies the parameter is highly sensitive and the narrow response range suggests the parameter is insensitive.Only the parameter which is highly correlative and sensitive is selected as the input of ANN,and the sampling space of the model is highly reduced.The modeling of a wideband and circularly polarized antenna is studied as an example to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.The number of input parameters decreases from8 to 4.The testing errors of|S_(11)|and axis ratio are reduced by8.74%and 8.95%,respectively,compared with the ANN with no feature selection.展开更多

A one-dimensional (l-D) longitudinal model is optimal for the prediction o...The elevated supersaturation of total dissolved gas (TDG) downstream of a high-dam spill has deleterious effects on fish in a large range. A one-dimensional (l-D) longitudinal model is optimal for the prediction of supersaturated TDG dissipation over a long distance. The key issue of the model is to determine the dissipation coefficient accurately. In agreement with field observations and experiment data, dimensional analysis and regression were performed to propose a formula for estimating the dissipation coefficient of supersaturated TDG in various rivers and reservoirs, and it involves the effects of the turbulence intensity, the hydro-pressure and the solid-liquid interface. The friction velocity, water depth, hydraulic radius and Froude number are independent variables in the formula which are easy to determine in practical applications. The 1-D longitudinal model is implemented to calculate the dissipation of TDG in a reach of the Jinsha River. Good agreement is found between the calculated results and field data for both the dissipation coefficient and the dissipation process.展开更多

Few studies have bee n carried out investigating the values of the friction coefficient in grinding, due to the difficulty of direct measurement. In this paper, a mathematical model of the friction coefficient in grinding has been established with the aid of a new grinding parameter C ge, which has close relations to wheel wear rate Z s, metal removal rate Z w, specific energy u and grinding force ratio λ(λ=F n/F t). By monitoring the process forces, C ge can be obtained and used easily for different grinding methods. Heavy grinding with different wheels and also single-grit grinding tests have been conducted for various work materials. The friction coefficients under different grinding conditions have been obtaine d using the model and the experimental results. For most materials tested in pap er, the friction coefficients decrease with the grinding speed. The friction coe fficients in single-grit grinding are 0.61~0.84 at the speed of 0.028 m/s, and 0.09~0.34 at the speed of 67~120 m/s. In single-grit grinding for 45 # a nd 20Cr steels, the friction coefficients decrease with the increase of the grindi ng speed while below a critical speed, and increase slightly with the increase o f grinding speed while above the critical grinding speed. Owing probably to the high surface temperature caused by high power consumption and dry condition, the friction coefficients in heavy grinding are 0.09~0.19, distinctly lower than t h ose of single-grit grinding, and also lower than those of ordinary grinding. Du e to the softening of the metals, the friction coefficients in heavy grinding un der dry condition are lower than that in wet condition. Owing probably to the di fference of hardness and roughness, while using different types of wheel and abr asive, the friction coefficients for the same work material changes even at same grinding speed. The work materials also substantially influence the friction coefficient depending on the properties such as the plasticity, hardness and a lso the tendency of adhesion to the abrasives.展开更多
