In this study, a self-consistent two-dimensional nonequilibrium fluid model coupled with an external circuit model is established to reveal the mechanisms related to the discharge modes, including the normal glow, abnormal glow, arc, and glow-to-arc transition modes, with an atmospheric-pressure direct-current(DC) argon discharge as a model plasma system. The modeling results show that, under different discharge modes, the most significant difference between the preceding four discharge modes lies in the current and energy transfer processes on the cathode side. On one hand, the current to the cathode surface is mainly delivered by the ions coming from the plasma column under the glow discharge mode due to the low temperature of the solid cathode, whereas the thermionic and secondary electrons emitted from the hot cathode surface play a very important role under the arc mode with a higher cathode surface temperature and higher ion flux toward the cathode. On the other hand, the energy transfer channel on the cathode side changes from mainly heating the solid cathode under the glow mode to simultaneously heating both the solid cathode and plasma column under the arc mode with an increase in the discharge current. Consequently, the power density in the cathode sheath(P_c) was used as a key parameter for judging different discharge modes, and the range of(0.28–1.2) × 10^(12) W m^(-3) was determined as a critical window of P_c corresponding to the glow-to-arc-mode transition for the atmospheric-pressure DC argon discharge, which was also verified by comparison with the experimental results in this study and the data in the previous literature.展开更多

In this work, we investigate the beam-splitting behaviors of the charge current due to the ZLMs in a three-terminal system. We show that with certain combinations of ZLMs, the incident charge current along the interface between different topological phases can be divided into different polarized currents with unit transmittance in two outgoing terminals. As a result, fully spin-polarized, valley-polarized and spin-valley-polarized electron beam splitters are generated. The mechanism of these splitters is attributed to the cooperative effects of the distribution of the ZLMs and the intervalley and intravalley scatterings that are modulated by the wave-vector mismatch and group velocity mismatch. Interestingly, half-quantized transmittance of these scatterings is found in a fully spin-valley-polarized electron beam splitter.Furthermore, the results indicate that these splitters can be applicable to graphene, silicene, germanene and stanene due to their robustness against the spin–orbit coupling. Our findings offer a new way to understand the transport mechanism and investigate the promising applications of ZLMs.展开更多

By adding staggered on-site gain and loss to the 2D Hermitian array with a trivial phase, the system will emerge degenerate topological corner modes, which are protected by bulk band gap. For such a non-Hermitian model, by adjusting the parameters of the system and introducing the pumping into the cavity at the corner, a single-mode lasing with topological protection emerges.Furthermore, single-mode lasing exists over a wide range of pumping strengths. No matter where the cavity is initially stimulated, after enough time evolution, all the cavities belonging to the topological corner mode can emit a stable laser.展开更多

Both the deterministic method and the Monte Carlo(MC) method can be used to solve the higher-order modes. However, MC method, compared to the deterministic method, faces challenges in terms of computational efficiency and α mode calculation stability, whereas the deterministic method encounters issues arising from homogenization-related geometric and energy spectra adaptation.Based on the higher-order mode diffusion calculation code HARMONY, we developed a new higher-order mode calculation code, HARMONY2.0, which retains the functionality of computing λ and α higher-order modes from HARMONY1.0, but enhances the ability to treat complex geometries and arbitrary energy spectra using the MC-deterministic hybrid two-step strategy. In HARMONY2.0, the mesh homogenized multigroup constants were obtained using OpenMC in the first step, and higher-order modes were then calculated with the mesh homogenized core diffusion model using the implicitly restarted Arnoldi method(IRAM), which was also adopted in the HARMONY1.0 code. In addition, to improve the calculation efficiency, particularly in large higher-order modes, event-driven parallelization/domain decomposition methods are embedded in the HARMONY2.0 code to accelerate the inner iteration of λ∕α mode using OpenMP. Furthermore, the higher-order modes of complex geometric models, such as Hoogenboom and ATR reactors for λ mode and the MUSE-4 experiment facility for the prompt α mode, were computed using diffusion theory.展开更多

文摘We have introduced a new approach to calculate the orbital angular momentum(OAM)of bound states in continuum(BICs)and below-continuum-resonance(BCR)modes in the rotational periodic system nested inside and outside by transforming the Bloch wave number from the translational periodic system. We extensively classify and study these BICs and BCR modes, which exhibit high-quality(high-Q)factors,in different regions relative to the interface of the system. These BICs and BCR modes with a high-Q factor have been studied in detail based on distinctive structural parameters and scattering theory. The outcomes of this research break the periodic limitation of interface state-based BICs,and realize more and higher symmetry interface state-based BICs and BCR modes. Moreover,we can control the region where light is captured by adjusting the frequency, and show that the Q factor of BICs is more closely related to the ordinal number of rings and the rotational symmetry number of the system.

文摘Lithium iron phosphate batteries have been increasingly utilized in recent years because their higher safety performance can improve the increasing trend of recurring thermal runaway accidents. However, the safety performance and mechanism of high-capacity lithium iron phosphate batteries under internal short-circuit challenges remain to be explored. This work analyzes the thermal runaway evolution of high-capacity LiFePO_(4) batteries under different internal heat transfer modes, which are controlled by different penetration modes. Two penetration cases involving complete penetration and incomplete penetration were detected during the test, and two modes were performed incorporating nails that either remained or were removed after penetration to comprehensively reveal the thermal runaway mechanism.A theoretical model of microcircuits and internal heat conduction is also established. The results indicated three thermal runaway evolution processes for high-capacity batteries, which corresponded to the experimental results of thermal equilibrium, single thermal runaway, and two thermal runaway events. The difference in heat distribution in the three phenomena is determined based on the microstructure and material structure near the pinhole.By controlling the heat dissipation conditions, the time interval between two thermal runaway events can be delayed from 558 to 1417 s,accompanied by a decrease in the concentration of in-situ gas production during the second thermal runaway event.

文摘Tearing modes may play an important role in the density limit disruption. The Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)code CLT with impurity modules is used to study the tearing mode excited and driven by impurity radiation. The impurity radiation can lead to plasma contraction and local enhancement of the current density. When the locally enhanced region of the current density approaches to the resonance surface, the tearing mode can be excited, even if the tearing mode is stable in the initial equilibrium.Through a scan of the initial atomic number(Z)and impurity concentrations,it is found that impurities with different Z values exhibit similar behaviors in the radiation-driven tearing mode. The impurity radiation can drive tearing mode growth through temperature cooling near the resonance surface, and there exists a linear relationship between the temperature perturbation caused by impurity radiation and the linear growth rate of the tearing mode.Additionally, the impurity can promote the growth of magnetic islands through the radiation cooling inside the magnetic island, and there exists a correlation between the initial parameters of impurity and the width of the saturated magnetic island.

文摘Higher-order modes of the neutron diffusion/transport equation can be used to study the temporal behavior of nuclear reactors and can be applied in modal analysis, transient analysis, and online monitoring of the reactor core. Furthermore, the higher-order modes of complex geometric models, such as Hoogenboom and ATR reactors for λ mode and the MUSE-4 experiment facility for the prompt α mode, were computed using diffusion theory.

文摘This work introduces special states for light in multimode fibers featuring strongly enhanced or reduced correlations be-tween output fields in the presence of environmental temperature fluctuations.Using experimentally measured multi-tem-perature transmission matrix,a set of temperature principal modes that exhibit resilience to disturbances caused by tem-perature fluctuations can be generated.Reversing this concept also allows the construction of temperature anti-principal modes, with output profiles more susceptible to temperature influences than the unmodulated wavefront.Despite changes in the length of the multimode fiber within the temperature-fluctuating region, the proposed approach remains capable of robustly controlling the temperature response within the fiber. To illustrate the practicality of the proposed spe-cial state,a learning-empowered fiber specklegram temperature sensor based on temperature anti-principal mode sensi-tization is proposed. This sensor exhibits outstanding superiority over traditional approaches in terms of resolution and accuracy. These novel states are anticipated to have wide-ranging applications in fiber communication, sensing, imaging, and spectroscopy, and serve as a source of inspiration for the discovery of other novel states.

文摘With the advancement of more electric aircraft(MEA)technology, the application of electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs)in aircraft actuation systems has become increasingly prevalent. This paper focuses on the modeling and mode switching analysis of EHA used in the primary flight control actuation systems of large aircraft, addressing the challenges associated with mode switching.First,we analyze the functional architecture and operational characteristics of multi-mode EHA,and sumarize the operating modes and implementation methods.Based on the EHA system architecture,we then develop a theoretical mathematical model and a simulation model.Using the simulation model,we analyze the performance of the EHA during normal operation. Finally, the performance of the EHA during mode switching under various functional switching scenarios is investigated. The results indicate that the EHA meets the performance requirements in terms of accuracy, bandwidth, and load capacity.Additionally, the hydraulic cylinder operates smoothly during the EHA mode switching, and the response time for switching between different modes is less than the specified threshold. These findings validate the system performance of multi-mode EHA,which helps to improve the reliability of EHA and the safety of aircraft flight control systems.

文摘A nonlinear saturation mechanism for reversed shear Alfvén eigenmode(RSAE)is proposed and analyzed, and is shown to be of relevance to typical reactor parameter region. The saturation is achieved through the generation of high-frequency quasi-mode due to nonlinear coupling of two RSAEs,which is then damped due to coupling with the shear Alfvén continuum, and leads to the nonlinear saturation of the primary RSAEs.An estimation of the nonlinear damping rate is also provided.
文摘A more accurate analysis method on working modes is proposed by considering the winding terminal voltage and the eondueting power device as state parameters. For the three-phase hybrid excitation doubly salient machine (HEDSM) motor and its three-phase full-bridge inverter, in the proposed analytical method, all possible working modes are generally listed. Then, with the H_PWM-L_ON control strategy, the working modes are detailed with eorresponding equivalent circuits. Experimental results verify the robustness of the analysis.
