Based on the route r...In order to indicate the performances of a large-scale communication network with domain partition and interconnection today, a kind of reliability index weighed by normalized capacity is defined. Based on the route rules of network with domain partition and interconnection, the interconnection indexes among the nodes within the domain and among the domains are given from several aspects. It is expatiated on that the index can thoroughly represent the effect on the reliability index of the objective factor and the subjective measures of the designer, which obeys the route rules of a network with domain partition and interconnection. It is discussed that the defined index is rational and compatible with the traditional index.展开更多
This paper presents a methodology for automatically generating risk scenarios for dynamic reliability applications in which some dynamic characteristics(e.g.,the order,timing and magnitude of events,the value of relev...This paper presents a methodology for automatically generating risk scenarios for dynamic reliability applications in which some dynamic characteristics(e.g.,the order,timing and magnitude of events,the value of relevant process parameters and initial conditions) have a significant influence on the evolution of the system.The main idea of the methodology is:(i) making the system model "express itself" through simulation by having the model driven by an elaborated simulation engine;(ii) exploiting uniform design to pick out a small subset of representative design points from the space of relevant dynamic characteristics;(iii) for each selected design point,employing a depth-first systematic exploration strategy to cover all possible scenario branches at each branch point.A highly dynamic example adapted from the literature(a chemical batch reactor) is studied to test the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.展开更多
The normalized weighted capacity reliability index of a sub-domain interconnection large scale communication network is defined and a new algorithm to calculate the reliability index is proposed, The proposed algorith...The normalized weighted capacity reliability index of a sub-domain interconnection large scale communication network is defined and a new algorithm to calculate the reliability index is proposed, The proposed algorithm can be performed using logical or algebraic operation by means of computer-aided programming and the correctness of each key step is validated in detail. This paper takes the sub-domain interconnection symmetrical topologi- cal network for a typical example to calculate the network reliability index and verifies the correctness of the proposed algorithm us- ing the real measured statistical data. The real measured results are well in accordance with the results obtained by the proposed algorithm. The result shows that the proposed algorithm is a valid means to estimate the reliability index of a sub-domain intercon- nection large-scale communication network.展开更多

Although work on the use of switched stack tuners has been reported for fault detection, ...The use of non-power frequency components for protection measurements in an area that has received relatively little attention. Although work on the use of switched stack tuners has been reported for fault detection, the sensitivity of switched arrangements is limited by scnsitivity of directional detectors for switching purposes. This paper presents an alternative non-switching scheme which is relatively simple.A simplified typical 400kV system with the line trap, stack tuner, coupling capacitor and bus capacitance to earth is considered. Fault studies by using the EMTP have been carried out, frequency-dependent pararnctcrs are used for the line representation. Arcing faults have also bccn investigated and the results show a great promise of the scheme.展开更多
