With the passage of time, it has become important to investigate new methods for updating data to better fit the trends of the grey prediction model. The traditional GM(1,1) usually sets the grey action quantity as a constant. Therefore, it cannot effectively fit the dynamic characteristics of the sequence, which results in the grey model having a low precision. The linear grey action quantity model cannot represent the index change law. This paper presents a grey action quantity model, the exponential optimization grey model(EOGM(1,1)), based on the exponential type of grey action quantity; it is constructed based on the exponential characteristics of the grey prediction model. The model can fully reflect the exponential characteristics of the simulation series with time. The exponential sequence has a higher fitting accuracy. The optimized result is verified using a numerical example for the fluctuating sequence and a case study for the index of the tertiary industry's GDP. The results show that the model improves the precision of the grey forecasting model and reduces the prediction error. 展开更多

The decision-making and optimization of two-echelon inventory coordination were analyzed with service level constraint and controllable lead time sensitive to order quantity.First,the basic model of this problem was established and based on relevant analysis,the original model could be transformed by minimax method.Then,the optimal order quantity and production quantity influenced by service level constraint were analyzed and the boundary of optimal order quantity and production quantity was given.According to this boundary,the effective method and tactics were put forward to solve the transformed model.In case analysis,the optimal expected total cost of two-echelon inventory can be obtained and it was analyzed how service level constraint and safety factor influence the optimal expected total cost of two-echelon inventory.The results show that the optimal expected total cost of two-echelon inventory is constrained by the higher constraint between service level constraint and safety factor. 展开更多

The authors demonstrate the importance of the simulation of the water quantity exchange between river water and groundwater to a better understanding of the hydrologic relations between a river and nearby aquifer where groundwater is pumped extensively but only seasonally. And MODFLOW is used to design the stream aquifer model in which the pumpage of more than 1000 wells was simulated. The river gaining and river losing processes were analyzed. Simulation results suggest that continuation of over extraction of groundwater will gradually increase the depletion volume in the river year after year and more depletion will occur in later years. The exchange manner between groundwater and the Platte River differs from place to place. The Platte River loses water to the adjacent aquifer in the west part of the study area, and gains water from the adjacent aquifer in the east part of the study area. 展开更多

A mathematical model,method theory and calculation steps are given. Error analysis results show that this method can be applied accurately to practical engineering projects. In a case study of energy-saving quantity assessment before and after retrofitting on a certain hospital in Shanghai,with energy simulation software TRNSYS,detailed application of this method is introduced and analyzed. The method is applied to the case of energy-saving quantity assessment to a hospital in Shanghai before and after retrofitting with the energy simulation software TRNSYS. 展开更多

In the light of the production process of open pit, the functional relationships between investment, mining cost and mining quantity have been defined based on the process of mining and loading so that the relation of the life cycle cost and mining quantity can be set up. And what’s more, in order to obtain the maximum economic profit of mining enterprises in life cycle, the planning model of mining quantity has been established based on the life cycle cost. The rational distribution of mining quantity will have been found on the condition of obtaining optimal solution about the planning model so as to determine scientifically the production scale of mining enterprises from the point of view of the sustainable development. 展开更多

The technique employed is essentially different from usual ones. The recursive formula for computation of critical point quantities is linear and then avoids complex integral operations. This study aims to examine the usability of environmentally harmless vegetable oil in the minimum quantity of lubrication(MQL)system in face milling of AISI O2 steel and to optimize the cutting parameters by different statistical methods.Vegetable oil was preferred as cutting fluid,and Taguchi method was used in the preparation of the test pattern.After testing with the prepared test pattern,cutting performance in all parameters has been improved according to dry conditions thanks to the MQL system.The highest tool life was obtained by using cutting parameters of 7.5 m cutting length,100 m/min cutting speed,100 mL/h MQL flow rate and 0.1 mm/tooth feed rate.Optimum cutting parameters were determined according to the Taguchi analysis,and the obtained parameters were confirmed with the verification tests.In addition,the optimum test parameter was determined by applying the gray relational analysis method.After using ANOVA analysis according to the measured surface roughness and cutting force values,the most effective cutting parameter was observed to be the feed rate.In addition,the models for surface roughness and cutting force values were obtained with precisions of 99.63%and 99.68%,respectively.Effective wear mechanisms were found to be abrasion and adhesion. 展开更多

The ability of a wet swale,constructed in an area of poor soil permeability,to manage runoff from a roadway was monitored through 27 storm events over a period of 8 months.During the monitoring period,the wet swale reduced the total runoff volume by 50.4%through exfiltration and evapotranspiration.The wet swale significantly decreased the influent pollutant concentrations,and the effluent mean concentrations of total suspended solids,total phosphorus,chemical oxygen demand,ammonium,oxidized nitrogen,and total nitrogen in the effluent were 31 mg/L,0.10 mg/L,29 mg/L,0.52 mg/L,0.35 mg/L and1.28 mg/L,respectively.Pollutant loads were also substantially reduced from 70%to 85%.Plant uptake played an important role in nutrient removal in the wet swale.Approximately half of the nitrogen(53.8%)and phosphorus(51.5%)that entered the wet swale was incorporated in above-ground plants.It is shown that wet swales are useful for managing runoff from roads in areas of poor soil permeability. 展开更多

In the present study,the effect of reduction of cutting fluid consumption on the surface quality and tool wear was studied.Mathematical models were developed to predict the surface roughness using response surface methodology(RSM).Analysis of variance(ANOVA)was used to investigate the significance of the developed regression models.The results showed that the coefficient of determination values(R^2)for the developed models was 97.46%for dry,89.32%for flood mode(FM),and 99.44%for MQL,showing the high accuracy of fitted models.Also,under the minimum quantity lubrication(MQL)condition,the surface roughness improved by 23%−44%and 19%−41%compared with dry and FM,respectively,and the SEM images of machined surface proved the statement.The prepared SEM images of tool rake face also showed a considerable decrease in adhesion wear.Built-up edge and built-up layer were the two main products of the adhesion wear,and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX)analysis of specific points on the tool faces helped to discover the chemical compositions of adhered materials.By changing dry and FM to MQL mode,dominant mechanism of tool wear in machining aluminum alloy was significantly decreased.Breakage wear that led to early failure of cutting edge was also controlled by MQL technique. 展开更多

Numerical simulation combined with experimental test was carried out to analyze the pre-stretching process of the 7075 aluminum alloy sheet,from which the stress variation curves and residual stress of aluminum alloy sheet in different stretch rates were obtained.The results show that the residual stress in length direction is released after unloading the stretch force,while the residual stress in width direction is released during the stretching process.The study of residual stress elimination is beneficial for optimizing stretch rate on the basis of residual stress distribution law.By comparing the variation principle of residual stress in length direction,the size range of three deformation areas and elimination percentage of residual stress were obtained.The residual stresses of clamping area and transition area are not eliminated effectively,so sawing quantity should be the sum of both the areas.The elimination rate of residual stress in even deformation area could reach 90% after choosing a proper stretch rate,which is verified by both simulation and experiment. 展开更多

Under the condition of the market competition becom in g more and more drastic, the demands of market take on some new features such as individuation, diversification, small batch, unstableness and quick delivery et c. The Make-to-Stock mode is usually adopted by many enterprises to improve th e balance and stableness of production process. In such enterprises, order batch , production batch and sales batch are the important factors, which affect the s atisfaction of clients, efficiency and benefit of the enterprise. It takes purch ase, production and sales into account respectively when optimizing product batc h in traditional way. However, it ignored the influences of relations between ea ch links of whole system. It is assumed that the consumption and market demand a re continuous process whereas the factual demands are batched when economic batc h is determined. So there exist some deviations between the economic batch deter mined by traditional way and that by integral optimization. Through the integral analysis of Logistics in the production system, we know that from materials are purchased, then manufactured, finally sold, the material changed in appearance and value, it still exist in different links of production system. The amount of materials occupied varies just in different status, from stock status to produc tion status, then to waiting-be-sold status, there is not any substantial chan ge in quantity until they are sold. So we must comprehensively analyze the relat ions among each link based on integral production system, to optimize the materi al batch and cut short production cycle in order to optimize the whole system. In this paper, the production system is taken as a global entity, and in which m aterials variation law and their relations of each link are analyzed; To optimiz e the whole materials flow, a new model of multi-product systems’ economic orde r batch, economic production batch and optimal sale lot multi-product syste ms’ is developed which based on the limit of capitals and stock area. 展开更多

A mathematical model to determine the optimal production lot size for a deteriorating production system under an extended product inspection policy is developed. The last-K product inspection policy is considered so that the nonconforming items can be reduced, under which the last K products in a production lot are inspected and the nonconforming items from those inspected are reworked. Consider that the products produced towards the end of a production lot are more likely to be nonconforming, is proposed an extended product inspection policy for a deteriorating production system. That is, in a production lot, product inspections are performed among the middle K1 items and after inspections, all of the last K2 products are directly reworked without inspections. Our objective here is the joint optimization of the production lot size and the corresponding extended inspection policy such that the expected total cost per unit time is minimized. Since there is no closed form expression for our optimal policy, the existence for the optimal production inspection policy and an upper bound for the optimal lot size are obtained. Furthermore, an efficient solution procedure is provided to search for the optimal policy. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate the proposed model and indicate that the expected total cost per unit time of our product inspection model is less than that of the last-K inspection policy. 展开更多
