Novel green ceramic pigments Y_(3)Ga_(3)MgSiO_(12)∶xCr^(3+)(x=0−0.2)were successfully synthesized via the conventional solid-state approach.The properties of the pigments were studied by XRD,FE-SEM,UV-Vis spectroscop...Novel green ceramic pigments Y_(3)Ga_(3)MgSiO_(12)∶xCr^(3+)(x=0−0.2)were successfully synthesized via the conventional solid-state approach.The properties of the pigments were studied by XRD,FE-SEM,UV-Vis spectroscopy,XPS,and chromaticity analysis.The findings reveal that the trivalent chromium ions occupy the[Ga1O6]octahedral sites within the garnet lattice,and the relatively weak crystal field environment provided by the matrix endows the pigments with green characteristics.The samples prepared by calcination at 1400℃exhibit the most excellent performance in terms of phase purity,morphology,and color properties.The chromaticity values for the representative sample Y_(3)Ga_(3)MgSiO_(12)∶0.05Cr^(3+)are L^(*)=81.16,a^(*)=−12.53,and b^(*)=12.71,and the color remains stable after the stability test.Moreover,when glazed with Y_(3)Ga_(3)MgSiO_(12)∶xCr^(3+)(x=0−0.2)pigments,the smooth glaze surfaces exhibit vivid and saturated green tones,demonstrating their remarkable coloring capabilities and promising potential as a practical pigment for medium-temperature applications.This research underscores the vast application prospects of Y_(3)Ga_(3)MgSiO_(12)∶Cr^(3+)as an innovative green ceramic pigment.展开更多

The coating morphol...A novel kind of waterborne epoxy coating pigmented by nano-sized aluminium powders on high strength steel was formulated. Several coatings with different pigment volume content (PVC) were prepared. The coating morphology was observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the electrochemical properties were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Immersion test and neutral salt spray test were also conducted to investigate the corrosion resistance of the coating. It is demonstrated that the critical pigment volume content (CPVC) value is between 30% and 40%. The coating with PVC of 30% exhibits good corrosion resistance in 3.5% (mass fraction) NaCl solution.展开更多

Comparison of the level of elements between cholesterol andpigment gallstones revealed that Ca, Na, Fe, Cu, S, and Zn were higher inpigment gallstones than those in the cholesterol gallstones. Cholesterol stones aredivided into three subtypes: pure, mixed and combinated cholesterol stone.There were no significant difference among element contents. The levels of Ca,P, S, Li, and Ba in gallbladder biles were obviously higher in control groupthan in gallstone group. The relationships among HTT, carbon content and volume resistivity of the ...Abstract: PAN (Polyacrylonitrile)-based carbonaceous fibers were prepared at the heat treatment temperature (HTT) range of 650 to 900 ℃. The relationships among HTT, carbon content and volume resistivity of the carbonaceous fibers were investigated. The carbonaceous fibers/PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) antistatic coatings were prepared by the spraying technology and the effects of carbonaceous fibers and pigments on surface resistivity of the coatings were systematically discussed. Micrographs provide insight into the antistatic mechanism of the coating. The results show that carbon content of the carbonaceous fibers increases from 68.8% to 74.8% (mass fraction) and the volume resistivity decreases drastically from 1.94× 10^-3 to 8.27× 10 ^-2.cm. The surface resistivity of the antistatic coating is adjustable between 10^5 and 10^8Ω2 to fit the different antistatic materials. Static is dissipated by a conductive network of short fibers and the tunneling effect between the neighboring fibers and conductive pigments. Conductive pigments make the conductive network more perfect and improve the antistatic ability, but insulating pigments acting as barriers for the formation of conductive channel increases the surface resistivity of the coatings. The influence of pigments on the surface resistivity drops gradually with the decrease of the carbonaceous fibers volume resistivity.展开更多

The structure, morphology and hue of the powder were characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX) and CIE chromaticity. The optimum synthesis conditions were obtained and reaction mechanism was further analyzed as well. The results show that molar ratio of S to Se, pH value and hydrothermal reaction conditions have great effects on the hues of the pigments. Pigments with vivid hues are obtained under the conditions that pH value is about 13.0, hydrothermal reaction condition is at 140 ℃ for 4 h or at 160 ℃ for 6 h. The reaction mechanism is that Se2- of Cd(S1-xSex) substitutes S2- of CdS and then forms a continuous solid solution.展开更多

The results showed that the pigment had a high resistance to heat and it′s stability seemed to be affected greatly by pH, and red pulp plum was suitable to be applied for making acid food. Several kinds of metallic ions including Na + 、Zn 2+ had an effect of reinforcement on its tone, however Fe 3+ had a disruptive effect. Sucrose had no undesirable effect, but vitamin C had a significant undesirable effect. Also the preservative of sodium benzoate had a definite undesirable effect. The pigment showed strong resistance to reducer sodium sulfite but was very weak in resistance to oxidizer hydrogen peroxide.展开更多
