Independent cascade(IC)models,by simulating how one node can activate another,are important tools for studying the dynamics of information spreading in complex networks.However,traditional algorithms for the IC model ...Independent cascade(IC)models,by simulating how one node can activate another,are important tools for studying the dynamics of information spreading in complex networks.However,traditional algorithms for the IC model implementation face significant efficiency bottlenecks when dealing with large-scale networks and multi-round simulations.To settle this problem,this study introduces a GPU-based parallel independent cascade(GPIC)algorithm,featuring an optimized representation of the network data structure and parallel task scheduling strategies.Specifically,for this GPIC algorithm,we propose a network data structure tailored for GPU processing,thereby enhancing the computational efficiency and the scalability of the IC model.In addition,we design a parallel framework that utilizes the full potential of GPU's parallel processing capabilities,thereby augmenting the computational efficiency.The results from our simulation experiments demonstrate that GPIC not only preserves accuracy but also significantly boosts efficiency,achieving a speedup factor of 129 when compared to the baseline IC method.Our experiments also reveal that when using GPIC for the independent cascade simulation,100-200 simulation rounds are sufficient for higher-cost studies,while high precision studies benefit from 500 rounds to ensure reliable results,providing empirical guidance for applying this new algorithm to practical research.展开更多

For the given n jobs to be processed on m machines, it is assumed that the processing times and the due dates are nonnegative fuzzy numbers and all the weights are positive, crisp numbers. Based on credibility measure, three parallel machine scheduling problems and a goal-programming model are formulated. Feasible schedules are evaluated not only by their objective values but also by the credibility degree of satisfaction with their precedence constraints. The genetic algorithm is utilized to find the best solutions in a short period of time. An illustrative numerical example is also given. Simulation results show that the proposed models are effective, which can deal with the parallel machine scheduling problems with fuzzy parameters and precedence constraints based on credibility measure.展开更多

Recently,the memory elements-based circuits have been addressed frequently in the nonlinear circuit theory due to their unique behaviors.Thus,the modeling and characterizing of the mem-elements become essential.In thi...Recently,the memory elements-based circuits have been addressed frequently in the nonlinear circuit theory due to their unique behaviors.Thus,the modeling and characterizing of the mem-elements become essential.In this paper,the analysis of the multiple fractional-order voltage-controlled memcapacitors model in parallel connection is studied.Firstly,two fractional-order memcapacitors are connected in parallel,the equivalent model is derived,and the characteristic of the equivalent memcapacitor is analyzed in positive or negative connection.Then a new understanding manner according to different rate factor K and fractional orderαis derived to explain the equivalent modeling structure conveniently.Additionally,the negative order appears,which is a consequence of the combination of memcapacitors in different directions.Meanwhile,the equivalent parallel memcapacitance has been drawn to determine that multiple fractional-order memcapacitors could be calculated as one composite memcapacitor.Thus,an arbitrary fractional-order equivalent memcapacitor could be constructed by multiple fractional-order memcapacitors.展开更多

The pneumatic muscle actuator(PMA)has many advantages,such as good flexibility,high power/weight ratio,but its nonlinearity makes it difficult to build a static mathematical model with high precision.A new method is p...The pneumatic muscle actuator(PMA)has many advantages,such as good flexibility,high power/weight ratio,but its nonlinearity makes it difficult to build a static mathematical model with high precision.A new method is proposed to establish the model of PMA.The concept of hybrid elastic modulus which is related to the static characteristic of PMA is put forward,and the energy conservation law is used to achieve the expression of the hybrid elastic modulus,which can be fitted out based on experimental data,and the model of PMA can be derived from this expression.At the same time,a 3-DOF parallel mechanism(a new bionic shoulder joint)driven by five PMAs is designed.This bionic shoulder joint adopts the structure of two antagonistic PMAs actualizing a rotation control and three PMAs controlling another two rotations to get better rotation characteristics.The kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the mechanism are analyzed and a new static model of PMA is used to control it.Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this new static model.展开更多

A parallel reaction scheme to descri...The kinetic model of vacuum gas oil (VGO) hydrocracking based on discrete lumped approach was investigated, and some improvement was put forward at the same time in this article. A parallel reaction scheme to describe the conver- sion of VGO into products (gases, gasoline, and diesel) proposed by Orochko was used. The different experimental data were analyzed statistically and then the product distribution and kinetic parameters were simulated by available data. Fur- thermore, the kinetic parameters were correlated based on the feed property, reaction temperature, and catalyst activity. An optimization code in Matlab 2011b was written to fine-me these parameters. The model had a favorable ability to predict the product distribution and there was a good agreement between the model predictions and experiment data. Hence, the ki- netic parameters indeed had something to do with feed properties, reaction temperature and catalyst activity.展开更多
