In this manuscript, a triaxial creep test on deep coal at various pore pressures using a test system that combines in-situ mechanical loading with real-time nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) detection was conducted.Full-scale quantitative characterization, online real-time detection, and visualization of MPFS during coal creep influenced by pore pressure and stress coupling were performed using NMR and NMR imaging(NMRI) techniques. The results revealed that seepage pores and microfractures(SPM) undergo the most significant changes during coal creep, with creep failure gradually expanding from dense primary pore fractures. Pore pressure presence promotes MPFS development primarily by inhibiting SPM compression and encouraging adsorption pores(AP) to evolve into SPM. Coal enters the accelerated creep stage earlier at lower stress levels, resulting in more pronounced creep deformation. The connection between the micro and macro values was established, demonstrating that increased porosity at different pore pressures leads to a negative exponential decay of the viscosity coefficient. The Newton dashpot in the ideal viscoplastic body and the Burgers model was improved using NMR experimental results, and a creep model that considers pore pressure and stress coupling using variable-order fractional operators was developed. The model’s reasonableness was confirmed using creep experimental data. The damagestate adjustment factors ω and β were identified through a parameter sensitivity analysis to characterize the effect of pore pressure and stress coupling on the creep damage characteristics(size and degree of difficulty) of coal.展开更多

文摘The stability of open-pit mine slopes is crucial for safe and efficient mining operations. However, the presence of weak interlayers poses significant challenges in maintaining the stability of slopes. To explore the impact of the rock arching effect on slopes during excavation, understand the deformation zones and evaluation stages in such environments, and analyze the formation and characteristics of cracks, this study investigated the instability mechanism of open-pit mine slopes with weak interlayers through physical and numerical modeling.Focusing on the Zaharnur open-pit coal mine in China as a prototype,a sophisticated physical model test employing particle image velocimetry and Brillouin optical frequency domain analysis was conducted to comprehensively analyze the displacement and strain variation characteristics of open-pit mine slopes. The displacement, strain, stress redistribution, and failure processes of slopes under excavation were comprehensively analyzed through physical and numerical modeling. The results showed that the slope model exhibited a strain pattern in which the strain incrementally increased from its center toward the edges, and the landslide thrust was converted into an internal force along the arch axis and transmitted to the supports. The concept of the rock arching effect specific to soft rocks was proposed, shedding new light on an important phenomenon specific to open-pit slopes with weak interlayers.Based on its deformation characteristics, the slope could be divided into three areas:The excavation influence area, the crack area and the failure area.In addition, the ratios of the height and width of the outermost cracks to the excavation width fluctuated in the ranges of 0.36–0.49 and0.72–1.00,respectively.These findings contribute to a better understanding of the instability mechanisms in open-pit mine slopes with weak interlayers and provide valuable guidelines for safe mining practices.

文摘To explore the geological characteristics and exploration potential of the Carboniferous Benxi Formation coal rock gas in the Ordos Basin, this paper presents a systematic research on the coal rock distribution, coal rock reservoirs, coal rock quality, and coal rock gas features, resources and enrichment.Coal rock gas is a high-quality resource distinct from coalbed methane, and it has unique features in terms of burial depth, gas source, reservoir, gas content, and carbon isotopic composition. The Benxi Formation coal rocks cover an area of 16×104km^(2),with thicknesses ranging from 2 m to 25 m,primarily consisting of bright and semi-bright coals with primitive structures and low volatile and ash contents, indicating a good coal quality. The medium-to-high rank coal rocks have the total organic carbon(TOC)content ranging from 33.49%to 86.11%,averaging75.16%.They have a high degree of thermal evolution(Roof 1.2%-2.8%),and a high gas-generating capacity. They also have high stable carbon isotopic values(δ13C1of-37.6‰to-16‰;δ13C2of-21.7‰to-14.3‰).Deep coal rocks develop matrix pores such as gas bubble pores, organic pores, and inorganic mineral pores, which, together with cleats and fractures, form good reservoir spaces. The coal rock reservoirs exhibit the porosity of 0.54%-10.67%(averaging 5.42%)and the permeability of(0.001-14.600)×10^(-3)μm^(2)(averaging 2.32×10^(-3)μm^(2)).Vertically,there are five types of coal rock gas accumulation and dissipation combinations, among which the coal rock-mudstone gas accumulation combination and the coal rock-limestone gas accumulation combination are the most important, with good sealing conditions and high peak values of total hydrocarbon in gas logging.A model of coal rock gas accumulation has been constructed, which includes widespread distribution of medium-to-high rank coal rocks continually generating gas, matrix pores and cleats/fractures in coal rocks acting as large-scale reservoir spaces, tight cap rocks providing sealing,source-reservoir integration, and five types of efficient enrichment patterns(lateral pinchout complex,lenses,low-amplitude structures,nose-like structures, and lithologically self-sealing).According to the geological characteristics of coal rock gas,the Benxi Formation is divided into 8 plays, and the estimated coal rock gas resources with a buried depth of more than 2000 m are more than 12.33×10^(12)m^(3).The above understandings guide the deployment of risk exploration. Two wells drilled accordingly obtained an industrial gas flow, driving the further deployment of exploratory and appraisal wells.Substantial breakthroughs have been achieved, with the possible reserves over a trillion cubic meters and the proved reserves over a hundred billion cubic meters, which is of great significance for the reserves increase and efficient development of natural gas in China.

文摘The relationship between support and surrounding rock is of great significance to the control of surrounding rock in mining process. In view of the fact that most of the existing numerical simulation methods construct virtual elements and stress servo control to approximately replace the hydraulic support problem, this paper establishes a new numerical model of hydraulic support with the same working characteristics as the actual hydraulic support by integrating numerical simulation software Rhino,Griddle and FLAC3D,which can realize the simulation of different working conditions.Based on this model, the influence mechanism of the supporting strength of hydraulic support on surrounding rock stress regulation and coal stability in front of the top coal caving face in extra thick coal seam were researched.Firstly, under different support intensity, the abutment pressure of the bearing coal and the coal in front of it presents the “three-stage”evolution characteristics. The influence range of support intensity is 15%–30%.Secondly,1.5 MPa is the upper limit of impact that the support strength can have on the front coal failure area.Thirdly, within a displacement range of 2.76 m from the coal wall,a support strength of1.5 MPa provides optimal control of the horizontal displacement of the coal.

文摘Understanding the variations in microscopic pore-fracture structures(MPFS) during coal creep under pore pressure and stress coupling is crucial for coal mining and effective gas treatment. The damagestate adjustment factors ω and β were identified through a parameter sensitivity analysis to characterize the effect of pore pressure and stress coupling on the creep damage characteristics(size and degree of difficulty) of coal.

文摘Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS)has become a widely used atomic spectroscopic technique for rapid coal analysis. However, the vast amount of spectral information in LIBS contains signal uncertainty, which can affect its quantification performance. In this work,we propose a hybrid variable selection method to improve the performance of LIBS quantification.Important variables are first identified using Pearson's correlation coefficient, mutual information, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)and random forest, and then filtered and combined with empirical variables related to fingerprint elements of coal ash content.Subsequently, these variables are fed into a partial least squares regression(PLSR).Additionally,in some models, certain variables unrelated to ash content are removed manually to study the impact of variable deselection on model performance. The proposed hybrid strategy was tested on three LIBS datasets for quantitative analysis of coal ash content and compared with the corresponding data-driven baseline method. It is significantly better than the variable selection only method based on empirical knowledge and in most cases outperforms the baseline method. The results showed that on all three datasets the hybrid strategy for variable selection combining empirical knowledge and data-driven algorithms achieved the lowest root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP)values of 1.605,3.478 and 1.647,respectively,which were significantly lower than those obtained from multiple linear regression using only 12 empirical variables, which are 1.959,3.718 and 2.181,respectively.The LASSO-PLSR model with empirical support and 20 selected variables exhibited a significantly improved performance after variable deselection, with RMSEP values dropping from 1.635,3.962 and 1.647 to 1.483,3.086 and 1.567,respectively.Such results demonstrate that using empirical knowledge as a support for datadriven variable selection can be a viable approach to improve the accuracy and reliability of LIBS quantification.

文摘The sublevel top coal caving(SLTCC)mining technology is extensively employed in steeply inclined thick coal seams.Because of the typical characteristics of the short coal face in this mining method,a signifi-cant portion of the top coal is lost at the face end.For reducing the coal loss, the partially reverse drawing technique(PRDT)is proposed as a novel top coal drawing technique.Meanwhile, based on the Bergmark-Roos model(B-R model),a theoretical method for calculating the recovery ratio of top coal based on the top coal boundary equation and residual top coal amount is proposed. The mechanism of PRDT to reduce top coal loss at the face end is revealed by comparing with single-round sequential drawing technique(SSDT).Physical experiments and in-site observation data were used to verify the theoretical model. The results show that PRDT can effectively reduce the amount of residual coal near the roof by optimizing the shape characteristics of top coal boundary.Suggestions for improve recovery ratio in Wudong Coal Mine were given based on its face parameters.

文摘Based on the latest results of near-source exploration in the Middle and Lower Jurassic of the Tuha Basin,a new understanding of the source rocks, reservoir conditions, and source-reservoir-cap rock combinations of the Jurassic Shuixigou Group in the Taibei Sag is established using the concept of the whole petroleum system, and the coal-measure whole petroleum system is analyzed thoroughly. The results are obtained in three aspects.First, the coal-measure source rocks of the Badaowan Formation and Xishanyao Formation and the argillaceous source rocks of the Sangonghe Formation in the Shuixigou Group exhibit the characteristics of long-term hydrocarbon generation, multiple hydrocarbon generation peaks, and simultaneous oil and gas generation, providing sufficient oil and gas sources for the whole petroleum system in the Jurassic coal-bearing basin.Second,multi-phase shallow braided river delta–shallow lacustrine deposits contribute multiple types of reservoirs,e.g.sandstone,tight sandstone, shale and coal rock,in slope and depression areas, providing effective storage space for the petroleum reservoir formation in coal-measure strata.Third, three phases of hydrocarbon charging and structural evolution,as well as effective configuration of multiple types of reservoirs, result in the sequential accumulation of conventional-unconventional hydrocarbons. From high structural positions to depression, there are conventional structural and structural-lithological reservoirs far from the source,low-saturation structural-lithological reservoirs near the source, and tight sandstone gas, coal rock gas and shale oil accumulations within the source.Typically, the tight sandstone gas and coal rock gas are the key options for further exploration, and the shale oil and gas in the depression area is worth of more attention. The new understanding of the whole petroleum system in the coal measures could further enrich and improve the geological theory of the whole petroleum system, and provide new ideas for the overall exploration of oil and gas resources in the Tuha Basin.

文摘The optimization of government subsidies to enhance the efficiency of coal companies’green transformation constitutes a critical component in the pursuit of global sustainability. We investigate the influence mechanism of government subsidies on the green transformation using data from the listed coal companies in China from 2007 to 2022.According to our findings and hypothesis testing, previous government subsidies did not have a significant direct impact on coal companies’green transformation.Nevertheless, government subsidies can help coal companies transition to greener practices by promoting innovative green initiatives.Furthermore,we confirmed an indirect route:that government subsidies enable the adoption of low-carbon initiatives, which in turn could facilitate the transition of coal companies towards green practices. In addition,we discovered that the coal company’s digitization will improve this indirect route. Thus,we propose increasing the effectiveness of government subsidies in facilitating coal companies’transition to green practices by focusing on technological advancements and enhancing company digitalization.

文摘Coal pyrolysis is a fundamental reaction in the thermal processing and utilization of coal.Investigating the behavior and kinetics of coal pyrolysis is crucial for optimizing, designing, and developing a composite riser for the staged pyrolysis gasification process of pulverized coal.In this study, the non-isothermal pyrolysis behavior and kinetics of coal were examined at different heating rates(30,50,100,300,500,700,and 900℃/min)using thermogravimetry(TG)coupled with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.Analysis of the TG/derivative TG(TG/DTG)curves indicated that coal pyrolysis mainly occurred between 300℃ and 700℃.Higher heating rates led to more volatiles being released from the coal, and a higher temperature was required to achieve rapid pyrolysis.Kinetic analysis showed that both the model-free methods(Friedman,Flynn-Wall-Ozawa,and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose)and the model-based method(Coats-Redfern)effectively describe the coal pyrolysis process. The change in the Ea values between the two kinetic models was consistent throughout the pyrolysis process, and the most probable mechanism was the F2 model(secondary chemical reaction). In addition, the heating rate did not change the overall reaction order of the pyrolysis process;however,a higher heating rate resulted in a decrease in the Ea value during the initial pyrolysis stage.
文摘Hydroconversion of coal tar to produce aromatic hydrocarbons(BTX)represents a crucial strategy for the highvalue hierarchical utilization of coal. This study focused on the hydrocracking of hydrorefined products derived from coal tar to enhance the production of benzene, toluene, and xylene(BTX).Various reaction conditions, including reaction temperature, hydrogen pressure, space velocity, and hydrogen-to-oil volume ratio, were systematically explored to optimize BTX yields while also considering the process’s economic feasibility. The results indicate that increasing the reaction temperature from 360℃ to 390℃ significantly favors the production of BTX,with yields increasing from 21.42%to 41.14%.Similarly,an increase in hydrogen pressure from 4 MPa to 6 MPa boosts BTX production, with yields rising from 36.31%to 41.14%.Reducing the space velocity from 2 h^(-1) to 0.5 h^(-1) also favors the BTX production process, with yields increasing from 37.96%to 45.13%.Furthermore,raising the hydrogen-to-oil volume ratio from 750 to 1500 improves BTX yields from 41.61%to 45.44%.Through economic analysis, the optimal conditions for BTX production were identified as a reaction temperature of 390℃,hydrogen pressure of 5-6 MPa,space velocity of 1 h^(-1),and hydrogen-to-oil volume ratio of 1000,achieving a BTX yield of 43.73%.This investigation highlights the importance of a holistic evaluation of hydrocracking conditions to optimize BTX production.Furthermore, the findings offer valuable insights for the design and operation of industrial hydrocracking processes aimed at efficiently converting coal tar-derived hydrorefined feedstock into BTX.

文摘The fluidity of coal-water slurry(CWS)is crucial for various industrial applications such as long-distance transportation, gasification, and combustion. However, there is currently a lack of rapid and accurate detection methods for assessing CWS fluidity. This paper proposed a method for analyzing the fluidity using videos of CWS dripping processes.By integrating the temporal and spatial features of each frame in the video,a multi-cascade classifier for CWS fluidity is established. The classifier distinguishes between four levels(A,B,C,and D)based on the quality of fluidity. The preliminary classification of A and D is achieved through feature engineering and the XGBoost algorithm.Subsequently, convolutional neural networks(CNN)and long short-term memory(LSTM)are utilized to further differentiate between the B and C categories which are prone to confusion. Finally, through detailed comparative experiments, the paper demonstrates the step-by-step design process of the proposed method and the superiority of the final solution. The proposed method achieves an accuracy rate of over 90%in determining the fluidity of CWS,serving as a technical reference for future industrial applications.

文摘Methane(CH_(4))and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))are primary components of coal seam gas(CSG).Understanding their adsorption-desorption hysteresis characteristics, along with the fundamental mechanism,is crucial for CSG exploitation and related hazards mitigation. This research focused on the representative Bulli coal seam in the Sydney Basin,Australia.Through the purpose-built indirect gravimetric high-pressure isothermal adsorption-desorption hysteresis experiment,a novel Langmuir-based desorption model, incorporating hysteresis effect and residual gas,was proposed.Quantitative characterization of the adsorption-desorption hysteresis degrees of CO_(2)and CH_(4)i n coal particles of various sizes and inΦ50mm 100 mm intact coal samples were achieved using the improved hysteresis index(IHI).The experimental findings validated that the proposed desorption model accurately describes the desorption behavior of CO_(2)and CH_(4)in coal(R^(2)>0.99).Based on the adsorption-desorption properties of inkbottle-shaped micropores and pore deformation caused by gas adsorption-induced coal expansion, the occurrence mechanism of adsorption–desorption hysteresis and the fundamental reasons for the presence of residual gas were elucidated.Furthermore, the study explored the impact of CO_(2)and CH_(4)adsorption-desorption hysteresis effects on coal and gas outbursts, suggesting that coal seams rich in CO_(2)do not have a higher propensity for outbursts than those rich in CH_(4).

文摘Effective separation of residual carbon and ash is the basis for the resource utilization of coal gasification fine slag(CGFS).The conventional flotation process of CGFS has the bottlenecks of low carbon recovery and high collector dosage. In order to address these issues,CGFS sample taken from Shaanxi,China was used as the study object in this paper.A new process of size classification-fine grain ultrasonic pretreatment flotation(SC-FGUF)was proposed and its separation effect was compared with that of wholegrain flotation(WGF)as well as size classification-fine grain flotation(SC-FGF).The mechanism of its enhanced separation effect was revealed through flotation kinetic fitting, flotation flow foam layer stability, particle size composition, surface morphology, pore structure, and surface chemical property analysis. The results showed that compared with WGF,pre-classification could reduce the collector dosage by 84.09%and the combination of pre-classification and ultrasonic pretreatment could increase the combustible recovery by 17.29%and up to 93.46%.The SC-FGUF process allows the ineffective adsorption of coarse residual carbon to collector during flotation stage to be reduced by pre-classification,and the tightly embedded state of fine CGFS particles is disrupted and surface oxidizing functional group occupancy was reduced by ultrasonic pretreatment, thus carbon and ash is easier to be separated in the flotation process. In addition, some of the residual carbon particles were broken down to smaller sizes in the ultrasonic pretreatment, which led to an increase in the stability of flotation flow foam layer and a decrease in the probability of detachment of residual carbon particles from the bubbles. Therefore,SCFGUF could increase the residual carbon recovery and reduce the flotation collector dosage, which is an innovative method for carbon-ash separation of CGFS with good application prospect.
文摘The quality upgrading and deashing of inferior coal by chemical method still faces great challenges. The dangers of strong acid, strong alkali, waste water and exhaust gas as well as high cost limit its industrial production. This paper systematically investigates the ash reduction and desilicification of two typical inferior coal utilizing ammonium fluoride roasting method.Under the optimal conditions, for fat coal and gas coal, the deashing rates are 69.02%and 54.13%,and the desilicification rates are 92.64%and 90.27%,respectively.The molar dosage of ammonium fluoride remains consistent for both coals;however, the gas coal, characterized by a lower ash and silica content(less than half that of the fat coal),achieves optimum deashing effect at a reduced time and temperature. The majority of silicon in coal transforms into gaseous ammonium fluorosilicate, subsequently preparing nanoscale amorphous silica with a purity of 99.90%through ammonia precipitation. Most of the fluorine in deashed coal are assigned in inorganic minerals, suggesting the possibility of further fluorine and ash removal via flotation. This research provides a green and facile route to deash inferior coal and produce nano-scale white carbon black simultaneously.

文摘Multistage hydraulic fracturing of horizontal wells(MFHW)is a promising technology for controlling coal burst caused by thick and hard roofs in China. However, challenges remain regarding the MFHW control mechanism of coal burst and assessment of the associated fracturing effects. In this study, these challenges were investigated through numerical modelling and field applications, based on the actual operating parameters of MFHW for hard roofs in a Chinese coal mine.A damage parameter(D)is proposed to assess the degree of hydraulic fracturing in the roof. The mechanisms and effects of MFHW for controlling coal burst are analyzed using microseismic(MS)data and front-abutment stress distribution. Results show that the degree of fracturing can be categorized into lightly-fractured(D≤0.3),moderately fractured(0.3<D≤0.6),well-fractured(0.6<D≤0.9),and over-fractured(0.9<D≤0.95).A response stage in the fracturing process, characterized by a slowdown in crack development, indicates the transition to a wellfractured condition. After MFHW,the zone range and peak value of the front-abutment stress decrease.Additionally,MS events shift from near the coal seam to the fractured roof layers, with the number of MS events increases while the average MS energy decreases. The MFHW control mechanisms of coal bursts involve mitigating mining-induced stress and reducing seismic activity during longwall retreat, ensuring stresses remain below the ultimate stress level. These findings provide a reference for evaluating MFHW fracturing effects and controlling coal burst disasters in engineering.

文摘To reveal the enrichment conditions and resource potential of coal-rock gas in the Ordos Basin, this paper presents a systematic research on the sedimentary environment, distribution, physical properties, reservoir characteristics,gas-bearing characteristics and gas accumulation play of deep coals. The results show that thick coals are widely distributed in the Carboniferous–Permian of the Ordos Basin. The main coal seams Carboniferous 5~#and Permian 8~#in the Carboniferous–Permian have strong hydrocarbon generation capacity and high thermal evolution degree, which provide abundant materials for the formation of coal-rock gas.Deep coal reservoirs have good physical properties, especially porosity and permeability.Coal seams Carboniferous 5^(#)and Permian 8^(#)exhibit the average porosity of 4.1%and 6.4%,and the average permeability of 8.7×10^(-3)μm^(2)and 15.7×10^(-3)μm^(2),respectively.Cleats and fissures are developed in the coals, and together with the micropores, constitute the main storage space. With the increase of evolution degree, the micropore volume tends to increase. The development degree of cleats and fissures has a great impact on permeability. The coal reservoirs and their industrial compositions exhibit significantly heterogeneous distribution in the vertical direction. The bright coal seam, which is in the middle and upper section, less affected by ash filling compared with the lower section, and contains well-developed pores and fissures,is a high-quality reservoir interval. The deep coals present good gas-bearing characteristics in Ordos Basin, with the gas content of 7.5–20.0 m^(3)/t,and the proportion of free gas(greater than 10%,mostly 11.0%–55.1%)in coal-rock gas significantly higher than that in shallow coals. The enrichment degree of free gas in deep coals is controlled by the number of macropores and microfractures. The coal rock pressure testing shows that the coal-limestone and coal-mudstone combinations for gas accumulation have good sealing capacity, and the mudstone/limestone(roof)-coal-mudstone(floor)combination generally indicates high coal-rock gas values. The coal-rock gas resources in the Ordos Basin were preliminarily estimated by the volume method to be 22.38×10^(12)m^(3),and the main coal-rock gas prospects in the Ordos Basin were defined. In the central-east of the Ordos Basin,Wushenqi,Hengshan-Suide,Yan'an,Zichang,and Yichuan are coal-rock gas prospects for the coal seam#8 of the Benxi Formation, and Linxian West,Mizhi,Yichuan-Huangling,Yulin,and Wushenqi-Hengshan are coal-rock gas prospects for the coal seam#5 of the Shanxi Formation, which are expected to become new areas for increased gas reserves and production.

文摘Understanding the impact of mining disturbances and creep deformation on the macroscopic deformation and the microscopic pore and fracture structures(MPFS)of coal is paramount for ensuring the secure extraction of coal resources. This study conducts cyclic loading-unloading and creep experiments on coal using a low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)experimental apparatus which is equipped with mechanical loading units, enabling real-time monitoring the T2spectrum.The experiments indicated that cyclic loading-unloading stress paths initiate internal damage within coal samples.Under identical creep stress conditions, coal samples with more initial damages had more substantial instantaneous deformation and creep deformation during the creep process. After undergoing nearly 35 h of staged creep, the total strains for coal samples CC01,CC02,and CC03 reach 2.160%,2.261%,and 2.282%,respectively.In the creep stage, the peak area ratio of seepage pores and microfractures(SPM)gradually diminishes.A higher degree of initial damage leads to a more pronounced compaction trend in the SPM of coal samples.Considering the porosity evolution of SPM during the creep process, this study proposes a novel fractional derivative model for the porosity evolution of SPM.The efficacy of the proposed model in predicting porosity evolution of SPM is substantiated through experimental validation.Furthermore,an analysis of the impact mechanisms on key parameters in the model was carried out.
