The open-circuit fault is one of the most common faults of the automatic ramming drive system(ARDS),and it can be categorized into the open-phase faults of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM)and the open-circuit ...The open-circuit fault is one of the most common faults of the automatic ramming drive system(ARDS),and it can be categorized into the open-phase faults of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM)and the open-circuit faults of Voltage Source Inverter(VSI). The stator current serves as a common indicator for detecting open-circuit faults. Due to the identical changes of the stator current between the open-phase faults in the PMSM and failures of double switches within the same leg of the VSI, this paper utilizes the zero-sequence voltage component as an additional diagnostic criterion to differentiate them.Considering the variable conditions and substantial noise of the ARDS, a novel Multi-resolution Network(Mr Net) is proposed, which can extract multi-resolution perceptual information and enhance robustness to the noise. Meanwhile, a feature weighted layer is introduced to allocate higher weights to characteristics situated near the feature frequency. Both simulation and experiment results validate that the proposed fault diagnosis method can diagnose 25 types of open-circuit faults and achieve more than98.28% diagnostic accuracy. In addition, the experiment results also demonstrate that Mr Net has the capability of diagnosing the fault types accurately under the interference of noise signals(Laplace noise and Gaussian noise).展开更多

However, most of the existing data-d...For the fault detection and diagnosis problem in largescale industrial systems, there are two important issues: the missing data samples and the non-Gaussian property of the data. However, most of the existing data-driven methods cannot be able to handle both of them. Thus, a new Bayesian network classifier based fault detection and diagnosis method is proposed. At first, a non-imputation method is presented to handle the data incomplete samples, with the property of the proposed Bayesian network classifier, and the missing values can be marginalized in an elegant manner. Furthermore, the Gaussian mixture model is used to approximate the non-Gaussian data with a linear combination of finite Gaussian mixtures, so that the Bayesian network can process the non-Gaussian data in an effective way. Therefore, the entire fault detection and diagnosis method can deal with the high-dimensional incomplete process samples in an efficient and robust way. The diagnosis results are expressed in the manner of probability with the reliability scores. The proposed approach is evaluated with a benchmark problem called the Tennessee Eastman process. The simulation results show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method in fault detection and diagnosis for large-scale systems with missing measurements.展开更多

Aiming at these problems, an optimal test selection method for fault detection and isolation in the multi-operating mode system is proposed by using the fault pair coding and rollout algorithm. Firstly,the faults in fault-test correlation matrices under different operating modes are combined to fault-pairs, which is used to construct the fault pair-test correlation matrices under different operating modes.Secondly, the final fault pair-test correlation matrix of the multioperating mode system is obtained by operating the fault pair-test correlation matrices under different operating modes. Based on the final fault pair-test correlation matrix, the necessary tests are selected by the rollout algorithm orderly. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by examples of the optimal test selection in the multi-operating mode system with faults isolated to different levels. The result shows that the proposed method can effectively mine the fault detection and isolation ability of tests and it is suitable for the optimal test selection of the multi-operating mode system with faults isolated to the replacement unit and specific fault.展开更多

The most reliable phase current among the three phase currents was selected using an approach that employs the fuzzy entropy measure. Data were trained with a neural network system, and the fault detection algorithm was verified using the unknown data. Results of the proposed approach based on Fourier and wavelet transformations indicate that the faults can be properly classified into six categories. This algorithm not only makes full use of the existing valid information of systems and has a faster tracking con- vergent speed than the proportional-type (P-type) algorithm, but also calculates more simply than the proportional-derivative-type (PD-type) algorithm and avoids the unstable effects of differential operations in the system. Based on the obtained NCS model, employing an observer-based fault detection filter as the residual generator, the addressed fault detection problem is converted into an auxiliary nonlinear H∞ control problem. Then, with the help of Lyapunov functional approach, a sufficient condition for the desired fault detection filter is constructed in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities, which depend on not only the delay interval but also the delay interval occurrence rate and successful packet communication rate. Especially, a trade-off phenomenon between the maximum allowable delay bound and successful data packet transmission rate is found, which is typically resulted from the limited bandwidth of communication networks. Dynamic PCA is an extension of PCA, which can effect...In order to improve reliability of the excavator's hydraulic system, a fault detection approach based on dynamic principal component analysis(PCA) was proposed. Dynamic PCA is an extension of PCA, which can effectively extract the dynamic relations among process variables. With this approach, normal samples were used as training data to develop a dynamic PCA model in the first step. Secondly, the dynamic PCA model decomposed the testing data into projections to the principal component subspace(PCS) and residual subspace(RS). Thirdly, T2 statistic and Q statistic performed as indexes of fault detection in PCS and RS, respectively. Several simulated faults were introduced to validate the approach. The results show that the dynamic PCA model developed is able to detect overall faults by using T2 statistic and Q statistic. By simulation analysis, the proposed approach achieves an accuracy of 95% for 20 test sample sets, which shows that the fault detection approach can be effectively applied to the excavator's hydraulic system.展开更多

文摘To investigate a class of nonlinear network control system, a robust fault diagnosis method is presented based on the robust state observer. To access the objective that the designed robust filter is maximally tolerant to disturbances and sensitive to fault, the robustness and stability properties of the fault diagnosis scheme are established rigorously. Using the residual vector, a fault tolerant controller is established in order to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system, and the controller law can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Then, some relevant sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution are given by applying Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, a simulation example is performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
文摘An application of the multiobjective fault detection and isolation(FDI) approach to an air-breathing hypersonic vehicle(HSV) longitudinal dynamics subject to disturbances is presented.Maintaining sustainable and safe flight of HSV is a challenging task due to its strong coupling effects,variable operating conditions and possible failures of system components.A common type of system faults for aircraft including HSV is the loss of effectiveness of its actuators and sensors.To detect and isolate multiple actuator/sensor failures,a faulty linear parameter-varying(LPV) model of HSV is derived by converting actuator/system component faults into equivalent sensor faults.Then a bank of LPV FDI observers is designed to track individual fault with minimum error and suppress the effects of disturbances and other fault signals.The simulation results based on the nonlinear flexible HSV model and a nominal LPV controller demonstrate the effectiveness of the fault estimation technique for HSV.

文摘Focusing on the networked control system with long time-delays and data packet dropout,the problem of observerbased fault detection of the system is studied.According to conditions of data arrival of the controller,the state observers of the system are designed to detect faults when they occur in the system.When the system is normal,the observers system is modeled as an uncertain switched system.Based on the model,stability condition of the whole system is given.When conditions are satisfied,the system is asymptotically stable.When a fault occurs,the observers residual can change rapidly to detect the fault.A numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘Fault detection of an induction motor was carried out using the information of the stator current. After synchronizing the actual data, Fourier and wavelet transformations were adopted in order to obtain the sideband or detail value characteristics under healthy and various faulty operating conditions. The most reliable phase current among the three phase currents was selected using an approach that employs the fuzzy entropy measure. Data were trained with a neural network system, and the fault detection algorithm was verified using the unknown data. Results of the proposed approach based on Fourier and wavelet transformations indicate that the faults can be properly classified into six categories. The training error is 5.3×10-7, and the average test error is 0.103.

文摘To deal with fault detection and diagnosis with incomplete model for dead reckoning system of mobile robot,an integrative framework of particle filter detection and fuzzy logic diagnosis was devised.Firstly,an adaptive fault space is designed for recognizing both known faults and unknown faults,in corresponding modes of modeled and model-free.Secondly,the particle filter is utilized to diagnose the modeled faults and detect model-free fault according to the low particle weight and reliability.Especially,the proposed fuzzy logic diagnosis can further analyze model-free modes and identify some soft faults in unknown fault space.The MORCS-1 experimental results show that the fuzzy diagnosis particle filter(FDPF) combinational framework improves fault detection and identification completeness.Specifically speaking,FDPF is feasible to diagnose the modeled faults in known space.Furthermore,the types of model-free soft faults can also be further identified and diagnosed in unknown fault space.

文摘Aiming at a class of nonlinear systems that contains faults, a novel iterative learning scheme is applied to fault detec- tion, and a novel algorithm of fault detection and estimation is proposed. This algorithm first constructs residual signals by the output of the practical system and the output of the designed fault tracking estimator, and then uses the residuals and the difference- value signal of the adjacent two residuals to gradually revise the introduced virtual faults, which can cause the virtual faults to close to the practical faults in systems, thereby achieving the goal of fault detection for systems. This algorithm not only makes full use of the existing valid information of systems and has a faster tracking con- vergent speed than the proportional-type (P-type) algorithm, but also calculates more simply than the proportional-derivative-type (PD-type) algorithm and avoids the unstable effects of differential operations in the system. The final simulation results prove the validity of the proposed algorithm.

文摘This paper addresses the problem of fault detection(FD) for networked systems with access constraints and packet dropouts.Two independent Markov chains are used to describe the sequences of channels which are available for communication at an instant and the packet dropout process,respectively.Performance indexes H∞ and H_ are introduced to describe the robustness of residual against external disturbances and sensitivity of residual to faults,respectively.By using a mode-dependent fault detection filter(FDF) as residual generator,the addressed FD problem is converted into an auxiliary filter design problem with the above index constraints.A sufficient condition for the existence of the FDF is derived in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities(LMIs).When these LMIs are feasible,the explicit expression of the desired FDF can also be characterized.A numerical example is exploited to show the usefulness of the proposed results.

文摘The fault detection problem for the nonlinear networked control system (NCS) with packet dropout and delay is investigated. A nonlinear stochastic system model is proposed to account for the NCS with random packet dropout and network- induced non-uniformly distributed time-varying delay in both from sensor to controller (S/C) and from controller to actuator (C/A). Based on the obtained NCS model, employing an observer-based fault detection filter as the residual generator, the addressed fault detection problem is converted into an auxiliary nonlinear H∞ control problem. Then, with the help of Lyapunov functional approach, a sufficient condition for the desired fault detection filter is constructed in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities, which depend on not only the delay interval but also the delay interval occurrence rate and successful packet communication rate. Especially, a trade-off phenomenon between the maximum allowable delay bound and successful data packet transmission rate is found, which is typically resulted from the limited bandwidth of communication networks. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a simulation example.

文摘The observer-based robust fault detection filter design and optimization for networked control systems (NOSs) with uncer- tain time-varying delays are addressed. The NCSs with uncertain time-varying delays are modeled as parameter-uncertain systems by the matrix theory. Based on the model, an observer-based residual generator is constructed and the sufficient condition for the existence of the desired fault detection filter is derived in terms of the linear matrix inequality. Furthermore, a time domain opti- mization approach is proposed to improve the performance of the fault detection system. To prevent the false alarms, a new thresh- old function is established, and the solution of the optimization problem is given by using the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the matrix. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

文摘Since any disturbance and fault may lead to significant performance degradation in practical dynamical systems,it is essential for a system to be robust to disturbances but sensitive to faults.For this purpose,this paper proposes a robust fault-detection filter for linear discrete time-varying systems.The algorithm uses H∞ estimator to minimize the worst possible amplification from disturbances to estimate errors,and H_ index to maximize the minimum effect of faults on the residual output of the filter.This approach is applied to the MEMS-based INS/GPS.And simulation results show that the new algorithm can reduce the effect of unknown disturbances and has a high sensitivity to faults.

文摘The problem of fault detection for linear discrete timevarying systems with multiplicative noise is dealt with.By using an observer-based robust fault detection filter(FDF) as a residual generator,the design of the FDF is formulated in the framework of H ∞ filtering for a class of stochastic time-varying systems.A sufficient condition for the existence of the FDF is derived in terms of a Riccati equation.The determination of the parameter matrices of the filter is converted into a quadratic optimization problem,and an analytical solution of the parameter matrices is obtained by solving the Riccati equation.Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘In order to improve reliability of the excavator's hydraulic system, a fault detection approach based on dynamic principal component analysis(PCA) was proposed. Dynamic PCA is an extension of PCA, which can effectively extract the dynamic relations among process variables. With this approach, normal samples were used as training data to develop a dynamic PCA model in the first step. Secondly, the dynamic PCA model decomposed the testing data into projections to the principal component subspace(PCS) and residual subspace(RS). Thirdly, T2 statistic and Q statistic performed as indexes of fault detection in PCS and RS, respectively. Several simulated faults were introduced to validate the approach. The results show that the dynamic PCA model developed is able to detect overall faults by using T2 statistic and Q statistic. By simulation analysis, the proposed approach achieves an accuracy of 95% for 20 test sample sets, which shows that the fault detection approach can be effectively applied to the excavator's hydraulic system.
