Based on the centre manifold reduction technique, nonlinear consensus protocols are presented. We prove that a group of agents can reach a β-consensus, the value of which is the group decision value varying from the minimum and the maximum values of the initial states of the agents. Moreover, we derive the conditions to guarantee that all the agents reach a β-consensus on a desired group decision value. Finally, a simulation study concerning the vertical alignment manoeuvere of a team of unmanned air vehicles is performed. Simulation results show that the nonlinear consensus protocols proposed are more effective than the linear protocols for the formation control of the agents and they are an improvement over existing protocols.展开更多

The proposed controller eliminates the unknown nonlinear function by using a fuzzy system, whose inputs are not the state variables but feedback error signals. The underlying stability analysis as well as parameter update law design are carried out by using the Lyapunov-based technique. The proposed method indicates that the nonlinear inversion-based control approach can also be applied to uncertain chaotic systems. Theoretical results are illustrated through two simulation examples.展开更多

Using the Lyapunov direct method and the comparison method, conditions are derived under which the zero solution of the system is stable with respect to all variables and asymptotically stable with respect to a part of variables. Moreover, the impact of nonstationary perturbations with zero mean values on the stability of the zero solution is investigated. In addition, the corresponding time-delay system is considered for which delay-independent partial asymptotic stability conditions are found. Three examples are presented to demonstrate effectiveness of the obtained results.展开更多

For a typical class of nonlinear systems disturbed by random noises, mixed multiple models consisting of adaptive model and fixed models were considered to design the switching con- trol law. Under certain assumptions, the nonlinear system with the switching control law was proved rigorously to be stable and optimal A simulation example was provided to compare the performance of the switching control and the traditional adaptive control.展开更多
