Effective disturbance indices for Hyrcanian forests in Kheyroud,Nowshahr,Iran were determined.The study area was divided into landscape mosaics based on ecosystem parameters including profile type,slope and elevation....Effective disturbance indices for Hyrcanian forests in Kheyroud,Nowshahr,Iran were determined.The study area was divided into landscape mosaics based on ecosystem parameters including profile type,slope and elevation.Co-occurrence texture indices were derived as forest disturbance factors on the first five bands of Landsat TM,ETM+and OLI images for the prevailing wood harvest disturbance regimes.These indices were screened using ten types of trend analyses and used for modeling disturbance of the harvesting regime through artificial neural networks.The results show that the selected indices can be useful in distinguishing areas with different disturbance intensities and as such,used in the context of health assessment through the health distance method.The accuracy of the health maps derived from the indices[increasing disturbance]led to give rise higher disturbance classification accuracy.展开更多

The goal of this work is to remove too many limitations for pure panning motion. The best reference block is important for the block-matching method for improving the robustness and performance. It is automatically selected in the h igh-frequency image, which always contains the plenty visible features. In orde r to reduce accumulated registration errors, the global registration using the p hase-correlation matching method with rotation adjustment is applied to the who le sequence of images, which results in an optimal image mosaic with resolving t ranslational or rotational motion. The local registration using the Levenberg-M arquardt iterative non-linear minimization algorithm is applied to compensating for small amounts of motion parallax introduced by translations of the camera a nd other unmodeled distortions, then minimizing the discrepancy after applying t he global registration. The accumulated misregistration errors may cause a visib le gap between the two images. A smoothing filter is introduced for removing the visible artifact.展开更多
To improve the performance of the scale invariant feature transform ( SIFT), a modified SIFT (M-SIFT) descriptor is proposed to realize fast and robust key-point extraction and matching. In descriptor generation, ...To improve the performance of the scale invariant feature transform ( SIFT), a modified SIFT (M-SIFT) descriptor is proposed to realize fast and robust key-point extraction and matching. In descriptor generation, 3 rotation-invariant concentric-ring grids around the key-point location are used instead of 16 square grids used in the original SIFT. Then, 10 orientations are accumulated for each grid, which results in a 30-dimension descriptor. In descriptor matching, rough rejection mismatches is proposed based on the difference of grey information between matching points. The per- formance of the proposed method is tested for image mosaic on simulated and real-worid images. Experimental results show that the M-SIFT descriptor inherits the SIFT' s ability of being invariant to image scale and rotation, illumination change and affine distortion. Besides the time cost of feature extraction is reduced by 50% compared with the original SIFT. And the rough rejection mismatches can reject at least 70% of mismatches. The results also demonstrate that the performance of the pro- posed M-SIFT method is superior to other improved SIFT methods in speed and robustness.展开更多
