Enhanced oil recovery(EOR) is a crucial method for significantly increasing the amount of crude oil extracted from mature and declining oil fields. Nanomaterials have shown great potential in improving EOR methods due to their unique properties, such as high surface area, tunable surface chemistry, and the ability to interact at the molecular level with fluids and rock surfaces. This study examines the potential use of incorporating ethoxylated molybdenum disulfide with a unique three-dimensional flower-like morphology for overcoming the challenges associated with oil recovery from reservoirs characterized by complex pore structures and low permeability. The synthesized nanomaterial features a chemical composition that encompasses a polar ethoxy group linking molybdenum disulfide nanosheets and an alkylamine chain. The ethoxy group promotes interactions with water molecules through hydrogen bonding and electrostatic forces, disrupting the cohesive forces among water molecules and reduction surface tension at the oil-water interface. As a result, the nanomaterial achieves an ultra-low interfacial tension of 10^(-3) mN/m. Core flooding experiments demonstrate a significant oil recovery of approximately 70% at a concentration as low as 50 ppm. This research paves the way for the design and synthesis of advanced extended surfactant-like nanomaterials, offering a promising avenue for enhancing oil recovery efficiency.展开更多

Here we report that the catalytic performance of molybdenum carbide nanoparticles(MoC_x NPs) for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) process can be enhanced by encapsulation within single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) with a diameter of 1–2 nm. The catalyst with MoC_x NPs located on the interior surface of SWNTs(MoCx@SWNTs) exhibits a lower onset over-potential and a smaller Tafel slope than the one with MoC_x NPs attached on the exterior surface(MoCx/SWNTs). This is likely attributed to the much smaller particle size and the more reduced states of the confined MoC_x NPs, as well as the larger specific surface area of MoCx@SWNTs compared with Mo Cx/SWNTs. In addition, the electronic structure of the confined MoC_x NPs might be modified by the confinement effects of SWNTs, and hence the adsorption free energy of H atoms on the confined MoC_x NPs, which could also contribute to their higher performance. These results suggest that the SWNTs can be further explored for constructing novel catalysts with beneficial catalytic performance.展开更多

Reported herein is the preparation of molybdenum carbide nanoparticles uniformly decorated on nitrogen-modified carbons (Mo2C/NC) through the carbonization of Mo-based polymers under hydrogen atmosphere by using poly(p-phenylenediamine) and ammonium heptamolybdate polymer analogue as precursors. And the molybdenum nitride nanoparticles loaded on porous N-doped carbons (Mo2N/NC) are also fabricated by calcination the polymer precursors in nitrogen gas. The Mo2C/NC shows more excellent electrocatalytic activity than Mo2N/NC in 0.5 M H2SO4, together with robust long-term durability. The well-crystalline nanoparticles and the increased electron conductivity are the main characters responded for the high catalytic efficiency of the fabricated electrocatalysts. This easily fabrication procedure may provide a facile route to prepare non-noble metal carbide/nitride catalysts featuring wellengineered structural and textural peculiarities for realistic energy conversion system.展开更多

The phenomena of particle melting, flattening, and stacking were investigated. The effect of process parameters such as plasma power, chamber pressure, and spray distance on the phenomena mentioned above was studied. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze the plasma-processed powder, splats formed, and deposits obtained. Experimental results show that less Mo particles are spheroidized when compared to the number of spheroidized tungsten (W) particles at the same powder feed rate under the same plasma spray condition. Molten Mo particles can be sufficiently flattened on substrate. The influence of the process parameters on the flattening behavior is not significant. Mo deposit is not as dense as W deposit, due to the splash and low impact of molten Mo particles. Oxidation of the Mo powder with a large particle size is not evident under the low pressure plasma spray.展开更多

In this work, a homogeneously dispersed molybdenum carbide hybrid catalyst with sub-nanosized cluster(the average size as small as 0.5 nm) is prepared via a facile carbothermal treatment for highly selective CO2-CO reduction. The partially disordered Mo2C clusters are characterized by synchrotron high-resolution XRD and atomic resolution HAADF-STEM analysis, for which the source cause of the disorder is pinpointed by XAFS analysis to be the nitrogen intercalants from the carbonaceous precursor. The partially disordered Mo2C clusters show a RWGS rate as high as 184.4 μmol gMo2C-1s-1 at 400 ℃ with a superior selectivity toward CO(> 99.5%). This work 2 highlights a facile strategy for fabricating highly dispersed and partially disordered Mo2C clusters at a sub-nano size with beneficial N-doping for delivering high catalytic activity and operational stability.展开更多

In the cleaning process, the contrast experiments of one regrinding, the regrinding and scrubbing, two-stage regrinding was carried. The result shows that the grade of molybdenum ore concentrate is 45.31%, the recovery is 65.98% and the rich ore ratio reaches 20.59% by the regrinding and scrubbing seven cleaning, the regrinding of concentrations from middling of molybdenum-sulfur separation. This easily fabrication procedure may provide a facile route to prepare non-noble metal carbide/nitride catalysts featuring wellengineered structural and textural peculiarities for realistic energy conversion system.
文摘The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used to investigate the surface characteristic of potassium-promoted or un-promoted both β-Mo2C and α-MoC1-x pretreated by syngas at different temperatures, and the promotional effect of potassium on the catalytic performance was also studied.XPS results revealed that the content of surface Mo and its valence distribution between β-Mo2C and α-MoC1-x were quite different.Promoted by potassium, the remarkable changes were observed for surface composition and valence of Mo distribution over β-Mo2C.Potassium had strong electronic effect on β-Mo2C,which led to a higher Mo4+ content. On the contrary, potassium had little electronic effect on α-MoC1-x,and K-Mo interaction was weak.Therefore,Mo0 and Mo2+ became the dominant species on the catalyst surface, and the Mo4+ content showed almost no increase as the pretreatment temperature enhanced. In terms of catalytic performance of molybdenum carbides, the increase in Mo0 most likely explained the increase in hydrocarbon selectivity, yet Mo4+ might be responsible for the alcohols synthesis.

文摘Transition metal nitrides have attracted considerable attention as great potential anode materials due to their excellent metallic conductivity and high theoretical specific capacity. However, their cycling performance is impeded by their instability caused by the reaction mechanism.Herein,we report the engineering and synthesis of a novel hybrid architecture composed of MoO2.0N0.5 atomic nanoclusters bonded in nanosheets of N-doped carbon hierarchical hollow microspheres(MoO2.0N0.5/NC)as an anode material for sodium-ion batteries. The facile self-templating strategy for the synthesis of MoO2.0N0.5/NC involves chemical polymerization and subsequent one-step calcination treatments. The design is benefi-cial to improve the electrochemical kinetics, buffer the volume variation of electrodes during cycling, and provide more interfacial active sites for sodium uptake.Due to these unique structural and compositional merits, these MoO2.0N0.5/NC exhibits excellent sodium storage performance in terms of superior rate capability and stable long cycle life. The work shows a feasible and effective way to design novel host candidates and solve the long-term cycling stability issues for sodium-ion batteries.
文摘Radio frequency (RF) induction plasma was used to make free-standing deposition of molybdenum (Mo). Oxidation of the Mo powder with a large particle size is not evident under the low pressure plasma spray.

文摘Molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))-based materials as the non-noble metal catalysts have displayed the potential capability to drive electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)for green hydrogen production along with their intrinsic activity, tunable electronic properties, low cost, and abundance reserves, which have attracted intensive attention as alternatives to the low-abundance and high-cost platinum-based catalysts. However, their insufficient catalytic HER activities and stability are the major challenges for them to become practically applicable.Hereby, the MoS_(2)-based electrocatalysts for HER are comprehensively reviewed to explain the fundamental science behind the manipulations of the crystal structure, microstructure, surface, and interface of MoS_(2) in order to enhance its catalytic performance through changing the electrical conductivity, the number of active sites, surface wettability, and the Gibbs free energy for hydrogen adsorption(ΔGH).Recent studies in surface/interface engineering, such as phase engineering, defect engineering, morphology design, and heterostructure construction, are analyzed to reveal the state-of-the-art strategies for designing and preparing the cost-effective and highperformance MoS_(2)-based catalysts through optimizing the charge transfer,surface-active sites,ΔGH,and surface hydrophilicity.Lastly, the perspectives, challenges, and future research directions of HER electrocatalysis are also given to facilitate the further research and development of HER catalysts.

文摘Molybdenum carbides are highly active for CO2 conversion to CO via the reverse water-gas shift(RWGS)reaction, however the large grain size up to micrometers renders its relatively lower active sites utilization efficiency while generating CH4 as a by-product. This work 2 highlights a facile strategy for fabricating highly dispersed and partially disordered Mo2C clusters at a sub-nano size with beneficial N-doping for delivering high catalytic activity and operational stability.

文摘Because of the low grade, high oxidation rate and the accumulation of little associated metal sulfide ore in the molybdenum concentrate during flotation, the Qingyang molybdenum ore is difficult to beneficiate. The experimental studies of grinding fineness, the amount of roughing modifier, depressant and collector were completed. The regularly-concentrated material from the apparatus was as the middling products. Hence, ideal beneficiation index can be obtained with a rational mineral processing, which offers new beneficiating technology for the refractory low-grade molybdenum ore in China.

文摘We report the measurement of total molybdenum ion density for L-mode and H-mode plasmas on EAST using spectral lines observation and calculation based on an impurity transport code.A flat-filed extreme ultraviolet spectrometer with some spatial resolution is used to obtain the radial profiles of molybdenum spectral line emissions. The absolute calibration for the extreme ultraviolet spectrometer is finished by comparing the calculated bremsstrahlung intensity with the readings of CCD detector.Molybdenum ion transport study is performed using the radial ion density profiles and one-dimensional impurity transport code STRAHL.The total molybdenum density profiles are determined from the transport analysis. The molybdenum density during L-mode and H-mode phases are obtained, which are about 3 and 4 orders of magnitude smaller than the electron density, respectively. An inward pinch is found during the H-mode phase that leads to the peaked profile of molybdenum density.

文摘The hierarchical structure of molybdenum disulfide(MoS2)nanosheet arrays stemmed from nickelcobalt layered double hydroxide(NiCo-LDH)/carbon cloth was prepared by growing the MoS_(2) nanosheet arrays onto the NiCo-LDH template which was pre-deposited onto the carbon cloth substrate. In this electrode configuration, carbon cloth is the three dimensional and conductive skeleton;NiCo-LDH nanosheets,as the template, ensure the oriented growth of MoS2 nanosheet arrays. Therefore, more MoS_(2) active sites are exposed and the catalyst exhibits good hydrogen evolution reaction activity.
