This study proposed a new and more flexible S-shaped rock damage evolution model from a phenomenological perspective based on an improved Logistic function to describe the characteristics of the rock strain softening ...This study proposed a new and more flexible S-shaped rock damage evolution model from a phenomenological perspective based on an improved Logistic function to describe the characteristics of the rock strain softening and damage process.Simultaneously,it established a constitutive model capable of describing the entire process of rock pre-peak compaction and post-peak strain softening deformation,considering the nonlinear effects of the initial compaction stage of rocks,combined with damage mechanics theory and effective medium theory.In addition,this research verified the rationality of the constructed damage constitutive model using results from uniaxial and conventional triaxial compression tests on Miluo granite,yellow sandstone,mudstone,and glutenite.The results indicate that based on the improved Logistic function,the theoretical damage model accurately describes the entire evolution of damage characteristics during rock compression deformation,from maintenance through gradual onset,accelerated development to deceleration and termination,in a simple and unified expression.At the same time,the constructed constitutive model can accurately simulate the stress-strain process of different rock types under uniaxial and conventional triaxial compression,and the theoretical model curve closely aligns with experimental data.Compared to existing constitutive models,the proposed model has significant advantages.The damage model parameters a,r and β have clear physical meanings and interact competitively,where the three parameters collectively determine the shape of the theoretical stress−strain curve.展开更多

Their properties and antithesis characteristics are analyzed. The rough function model is generalized based on rough set theory, and the scheme of rough function theory is made more distinct and complete. Therefore, the transformation of the real function analysis from real line to scale is achieved. A series of basic concepts in rough function model including rough numbers, rough intervals, and rough membership functions are defined in the new scheme of the rough function model. Operating properties of rough intervals similar to rough sets are obtained. The relationship of rough inclusion and rough equality of rough intervals is defined by two kinds of tools, known as the lower (upper) approximation operator in real numbers domain and rough membership functions. Bedding structural planes significantly influence the mechanical properties and stability of engineering rock masses.This study conducts uniaxial compression tests on layered sandstone with various bedding angles(0...Bedding structural planes significantly influence the mechanical properties and stability of engineering rock masses.This study conducts uniaxial compression tests on layered sandstone with various bedding angles(0°,15°,30°,45°,60°,75°and 90°)to explore the impact of bedding angle on the deformational mechanical response,failure mode,and damage evolution processes of rocks.It develops a damage model based on the Logistic equation derived from the modulus’s degradation considering the combined effect of the sandstone bedding dip angle and load.This model is employed to study the damage accumulation state and its evolution within the layered rock mass.This research also introduces a piecewise constitutive model that considers the initial compaction characteristics to simulate the whole deformation process of layered sandstone under uniaxial compression.The results revealed that as the bedding angle increases from 0°to 90°,the uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus of layered sandstone significantly decrease,slightly increase,and then decline again.The corresponding failure modes transition from splitting tensile failure to slipping shear failure and back to splitting tensile failure.As indicated by the modulus’s degradation,the damage characteristics can be categorized into four stages:initial no damage,damage initiation,damage acceleration,and damage deceleration termination.The theoretical damage model based on the Logistic equation effectively simulates and predicts the entire damage evolution process.Moreover,the theoretical constitutive model curves closely align with the actual stress−strain curves of layered sandstone under uniaxial compression.The introduced constitutive model is concise,with fewer parameters,a straightforward parameter determination process,and a clear physical interpretation.This study offers valuable insights into the theory of layered rock mechanics and holds implications for ensuring the safety of rock engineering.展开更多

In order to obtain accurate prediction model and compensate for the influence of model mismatch on the control performance of the system and avoid solving nonlinear programming problem,an adaptive fuzzy predictive fun...In order to obtain accurate prediction model and compensate for the influence of model mismatch on the control performance of the system and avoid solving nonlinear programming problem,an adaptive fuzzy predictive functional control(AFPFC) scheme for multivariable nonlinear systems was proposed.Firstly,multivariable nonlinear systems were described based on Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy models;assuming that the antecedent parameters of T-S models were kept,the consequent parameters were identified on-line by using the weighted recursive least square(WRLS) method.Secondly,the identified T-S models were linearized to be time-varying state space model at each sampling instant.Finally,by using linear predictive control technique the analysis solution of the optimal control law of AFPFC was established.The application results for pH neutralization process show that the absolute error between the identified T-S model output and the process output is smaller than 0.015;the tracking ability of the proposed AFPFC is superior to that of non-AFPFC(NAFPFC) for pH process without disturbances,the overshoot of the effluent pH value of AFPFC with disturbances is decreased by 50% compared with that of NAFPFC;when the process parameters of AFPFC vary with time the integrated absolute error(IAE) performance index still retains to be less than 200 compared with that of NAFPFC.展开更多

Modelling and simulation of projectile flight is at the core of ballistic computer software and is essential to the study of performance of rifles and projectiles in various engagement conditions.An effective and repr...Modelling and simulation of projectile flight is at the core of ballistic computer software and is essential to the study of performance of rifles and projectiles in various engagement conditions.An effective and representative numerical model of projectile flight requires a relatively good approximation of the aerodynamics.The aerodynamic coefficients of the projectile model should be described as a series of piecewise polynomial functions of the Mach number that ideally meet the following conditions:they are continuous,differentiable at least once,and have a relatively low degree.The paper provides the steps needed to generate such piecewise polynomial functions using readily available tools,and then compares Piecewise Cubic Hermite Interpolating Polynomial(PCHIP),cubic splines,and piecewise linear functions,and their variant,as potential curve fitting methods to approximate the aerodynamics of a generic small arms projectile.A key contribution of the paper is the application of PCHIP to the approximation of projectile aerodynamics,and its evaluation against a set of criteria.Finally,the paper provides a baseline assessment of the impact of the polynomial functions on flight trajectory predictions obtained with 6-degree-of-freedom simulations of a generic projectile.展开更多
Tunnel water inrush is one of the common geological disasters in the underground engineering construction.In order to effectively evaluate and control the occurrence of water inrush,the risk assessment model of tunnel...Tunnel water inrush is one of the common geological disasters in the underground engineering construction.In order to effectively evaluate and control the occurrence of water inrush,the risk assessment model of tunnel water inrush was proposed based on improved attribute mathematical theory.The trigonometric functions were adopted to optimize the attribute mathematical theory,avoiding the influence of mutation points and linear variation zones in traditional linear measurement functions on the accuracy of the model.Based on comprehensive analysis of various factors,five parameters were selected as the evaluation indicators for the model,including tunnel head pressure,permeability coefficient of surrounding rock,crushing degree of surrounding rock,relative angle of joint plane and tunnel section size,under the principle of dimension rationality,independence,directness and quantification.The indicator classifications were determined.The links among measured data were analyzed in detail,and the objective weight of each indicator was determined by using similar weight method.Thereby the tunnel water inrush risk assessment model is established and applied in four target segments of two different tunnels in engineering.The evaluation results and the actual excavation data agree well,which indicates that the model is of high credibility and feasibility.展开更多

By solving a nonlinear optimization problem with equality constraint of model output and boundary constraint of controller output using Nelder-Mead simplex direct search method, a sub-optimal control law was achieved in feature space. The effect of the controller was demonstrated on a recognized benchmark problem and a continuous-stirred tank reactor. The simulation results show that the multi-step-ahead predictive controller can be well applied to nonlinear system, with better performance in following reference trajectory and disturbance-rejection.展开更多

The interface of the soil layers is assumed to be positioned above the tunnel roof. In the framework of limit analysis, a rotational failure mechanism is adopted to describe the face failure considering different shear strength parameters in the two layers. The surrogate Kriging model is introduced to replace the actual performance function to perform a Monte Carlo simulation. An active learning function is used to train the Kriging model which can ensure an efficient tunnel face failure probability prediction without loss of accuracy. The deterministic stability analysis is given to validate the proposed tunnel face failure model. Subsequently, the number of initial sampling points, the correlation coefficient, the distribution type and the coefficient of variability of random variables are discussed to show their influences on the failure probability. The proposed approach is an advisable alternative for the tunnel face stability assessment and can provide guidance for tunnel design.展开更多

Material properties of the BDFG plate change in both the thickness and length directions via power-law distributions and Mori-Tanaka model. The governing equation of motion of BDFG plate in the fluid-plate system is formulated basing on Hamilton's principle and the refined quasi three-dimensional (3D) plate theory with improved function f(z). The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to determine the added mass. The discrete system of equations is derived from the Galerkin weak form and numerically analyzed by IGA. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with those published in the literature. Moreover, the effects of the various parameters such as the interaction boundary condition, geometric parameter, submerged depth of plate, fluid density, fluid level, and the material volume control coefficients on the free vibration behavior of BDFG plate in the fluid medium are investigated in detail. Some major findings regarding the numerical results are withdrawn in conclusions.展开更多
The state estimation of a maneuvering target,of which the trajectory shape is independent on dynamic characteristics,is studied.The conventional motion models in Cartesian coordinates imply that the trajectory of a ta...The state estimation of a maneuvering target,of which the trajectory shape is independent on dynamic characteristics,is studied.The conventional motion models in Cartesian coordinates imply that the trajectory of a target is completely determined by its dynamic characteristics.However,this is not true in the applications of road-target,sea-route-target or flight route-target tracking,where target trajectory shape is uncoupled with target velocity properties.In this paper,a new estimation algorithm based on separate modeling of target trajectory shape and dynamic characteristics is proposed.The trajectory of a target over a sliding window is described by a linear function of the arc length.To determine the unknown target trajectory,an augmented system is derived by denoting the unknown coefficients of the function as states in mileage coordinates.At every estimation cycle except the first one,the interaction(mixing)stage of the proposed algorithm starts from the latest estimated base state and a recalculated parameter vector,which is determined by the least squares(LS).Numerical experiments are conducted to assess the performance of the proposed algorithm.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better performance than the conventional coupled model-based algorithms in the presence of target maneuvers.展开更多

In this work, an improved constrained model predictive control algorithm is presented for Hammerstein-Wiener systems. In the new approach, the maximum and minimum of partial derivative for input and output nonlinearities are solved in the neighbourhood of the equilibrium. And several parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions, each one corresponding to a different vertex of polytopic descriptions models, are introduced to analyze the stability of Hammerstein-Wiener systems, but only one Lyapunov function is utilized to analyze system stability like the traditional method. Consequently, the conservation of the traditional quadratic stability is removed, and the terminal regions are enlarged. Simulation and field trial results show that the proposed algorithm is valid. It has higher control precision and shorter blowing time than the traditional approach.展开更多

文摘The rapid evolution of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)technology and autonomous capabilities has positioned UAV as promising last-mile delivery means.Vehicle and onboard UAV collaborative delivery is introduced as a novel delivery mode.Spatiotemporal collaboration,along with energy consumption with payload and wind conditions play important roles in delivery route planning.This paper introduces the traveling salesman problem with time window and onboard UAV(TSPTWOUAV)and emphasizes the consideration of real-world scenarios,focusing on time collaboration and energy consumption with wind and payload.To address this,a mixed integer linear programming(MILP)model is formulated to minimize the energy consumption costs of vehicle and UAV.Furthermore,an adaptive large neighborhood search(ALNS)algorithm is applied to identify high-quality solutions efficiently.The effectiveness of the proposed model and algorithm is validated through numerical tests on real geographic instances and sensitivity analysis of key parameters is conducted.
文摘Modelling and simulation of projectile flight is at the core of ballistic computer software and is essential to the study of performance of rifles and projectiles in various engagement conditions.An effective and representative numerical model of projectile flight requires a relatively good approximation of the aerodynamics.The aerodynamic coefficients of the projectile model should be described as a series of piecewise polynomial functions of the Mach number that ideally meet the following conditions:they are continuous,differentiable at least once,and have a relatively low degree.The paper provides the steps needed to generate such piecewise polynomial functions using readily available tools,and then compares Piecewise Cubic Hermite Interpolating Polynomial(PCHIP),cubic splines,and piecewise linear functions,and their variant,as potential curve fitting methods to approximate the aerodynamics of a generic small arms projectile.A key contribution of the paper is the application of PCHIP to the approximation of projectile aerodynamics,and its evaluation against a set of criteria.Finally,the paper provides a baseline assessment of the impact of the polynomial functions on flight trajectory predictions obtained with 6-degree-of-freedom simulations of a generic projectile.

文摘Tunnel water inrush is one of the common geological disasters in the underground engineering construction.In order to effectively evaluate and control the occurrence of water inrush,the risk assessment model of tunnel water inrush was proposed based on improved attribute mathematical theory.The trigonometric functions were adopted to optimize the attribute mathematical theory,avoiding the influence of mutation points and linear variation zones in traditional linear measurement functions on the accuracy of the model.Based on comprehensive analysis of various factors,five parameters were selected as the evaluation indicators for the model,including tunnel head pressure,permeability coefficient of surrounding rock,crushing degree of surrounding rock,relative angle of joint plane and tunnel section size,under the principle of dimension rationality,independence,directness and quantification.The indicator classifications were determined.The links among measured data were analyzed in detail,and the objective weight of each indicator was determined by using similar weight method.Thereby the tunnel water inrush risk assessment model is established and applied in four target segments of two different tunnels in engineering.The evaluation results and the actual excavation data agree well,which indicates that the model is of high credibility and feasibility.
文摘A support vector machine with guadratic polynomial kernel function based nonlinear model multi-step-ahead optimizing predictive controller was presented. A support vector machine based predictive model was established by black-box identification. And a quadratic objective function with receding horizon was selected to obtain the controller output. By solving a nonlinear optimization problem with equality constraint of model output and boundary constraint of controller output using Nelder-Mead simplex direct search method, a sub-optimal control law was achieved in feature space. The effect of the controller was demonstrated on a recognized benchmark problem and a continuous-stirred tank reactor. The simulation results show that the multi-step-ahead predictive controller can be well applied to nonlinear system, with better performance in following reference trajectory and disturbance-rejection.

文摘The Radial Basis Functions Neural Network (RBFNN) is used to establish the model of a response system through the input and output data of the system. The synchronization between a drive system and the response system can be implemented by employing the RBFNN model and state feedback control. In this case, the exact mathematical model, which is the precondition for the conventional method, is unnecessary for implementing synchronization. The effect of the model error is investigated and a corresponding theorem is developed. The effect of the parameter perturbations and the measurement noise is investigated through simulations. The simulation results under different conditions show the effectiveness of the method.

文摘Application research of neural networks to geotechnical engineering has become a hotspot nowadays.General model may not reach the predicting precision in practical application due to different characteristics in different fields.In allusion to this,an elasto-plastic constitutive model based on clustering radial basis function neural network(BC-RBFNN) was proposed for moderate sandy clay according to its properties.Firstly,knowledge base was established on triaxial compression testing data;then the model was trained,learned and emulated using knowledge base;finally,predicting results of the BC-RBFNN model were compared and analyzed with those of other intelligent model.The results show that the BC-RBFNN model can alter the training and learning velocity and improve the predicting precision,which provides possibility for engineering practice on demanding high precision.

文摘This paper is devoted to the probabilistic stability analysis of a tunnel face excavated in a two-layer soil. The interface of the soil layers is assumed to be positioned above the tunnel roof. In the framework of limit analysis, a rotational failure mechanism is adopted to describe the face failure considering different shear strength parameters in the two layers. The surrogate Kriging model is introduced to replace the actual performance function to perform a Monte Carlo simulation. An active learning function is used to train the Kriging model which can ensure an efficient tunnel face failure probability prediction without loss of accuracy. The deterministic stability analysis is given to validate the proposed tunnel face failure model. Subsequently, the number of initial sampling points, the correlation coefficient, the distribution type and the coefficient of variability of random variables are discussed to show their influences on the failure probability. The proposed approach is an advisable alternative for the tunnel face stability assessment and can provide guidance for tunnel design.

文摘This paper for first time proposes an isogeometric analysis (IGA) for free vibration response of bi-directional functionally graded (BDFG) rectangular plates in the fluid medium. Material properties of the BDFG plate change in both the thickness and length directions via power-law distributions and Mori-Tanaka model. The governing equation of motion of BDFG plate in the fluid-plate system is formulated basing on Hamilton's principle and the refined quasi three-dimensional (3D) plate theory with improved function f(z). The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to determine the added mass. The discrete system of equations is derived from the Galerkin weak form and numerically analyzed by IGA. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with those published in the literature. Moreover, the effects of the various parameters such as the interaction boundary condition, geometric parameter, submerged depth of plate, fluid density, fluid level, and the material volume control coefficients on the free vibration behavior of BDFG plate in the fluid medium are investigated in detail. Some major findings regarding the numerical results are withdrawn in conclusions.

文摘The state estimation of a maneuvering target,of which the trajectory shape is independent on dynamic characteristics,is studied.The conventional motion models in Cartesian coordinates imply that the trajectory of a target is completely determined by its dynamic characteristics.However,this is not true in the applications of road-target,sea-route-target or flight route-target tracking,where target trajectory shape is uncoupled with target velocity properties.In this paper,a new estimation algorithm based on separate modeling of target trajectory shape and dynamic characteristics is proposed.The trajectory of a target over a sliding window is described by a linear function of the arc length.To determine the unknown target trajectory,an augmented system is derived by denoting the unknown coefficients of the function as states in mileage coordinates.At every estimation cycle except the first one,the interaction(mixing)stage of the proposed algorithm starts from the latest estimated base state and a recalculated parameter vector,which is determined by the least squares(LS).Numerical experiments are conducted to assess the performance of the proposed algorithm.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better performance than the conventional coupled model-based algorithms in the presence of target maneuvers.

文摘Based on Bishop's model and by applying the first and second order mean deviations method, an approximative solution method for the first and second order partial derivatives of functional function was deduced according to numerical analysis theory. After complicated multi-independent variables implicit functional function was simplified to be a single independent variable implicit function and rule of calculating derivative for composite function was combined with principle of the mean deviations method, an approximative solution format of implicit functional function was established through Taylor expansion series and iterative solution approach of reliability degree index was given synchronously. An engineering example was analyzed by the method. The result shows its absolute error is only 0.78% as compared with accurate solution.
文摘Based on the modified plastic strain energy approach, an elasto-plastic constitutive modeling for sand was proposed. The hardening function between the modified plastic strain energy and a stress parameter was presented, which was independent of stress history and stress paths. The proposed model was related to an isotropically work-hardening and softening, non-associated and elasto-plastic material description. It is shown that the constitutive modeling, the inherent and stress system-induced cross-anisotropic elasticity is also considered. The constitutive model is capable of simulating the effects on the deformation characteristics of stress history and stress path, pressure level and anisotropic strength.

文摘Many industry processes can be described as Hammerstein-Wiener nonlinear systems. In this work, an improved constrained model predictive control algorithm is presented for Hammerstein-Wiener systems. In the new approach, the maximum and minimum of partial derivative for input and output nonlinearities are solved in the neighbourhood of the equilibrium. And several parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions, each one corresponding to a different vertex of polytopic descriptions models, are introduced to analyze the stability of Hammerstein-Wiener systems, but only one Lyapunov function is utilized to analyze system stability like the traditional method. Consequently, the conservation of the traditional quadratic stability is removed, and the terminal regions are enlarged. Simulation and field trial results show that the proposed algorithm is valid. It has higher control precision and shorter blowing time than the traditional approach.
