Reducing the vulnerability of a platform,i.e.,the risk of being affected by hostile objects,is of paramount importance in the design process of vehicles,especially aircraft.A simple and effective way to decrease vulne...Reducing the vulnerability of a platform,i.e.,the risk of being affected by hostile objects,is of paramount importance in the design process of vehicles,especially aircraft.A simple and effective way to decrease vulnerability is to introduce protective structures to intercept and possibly stop threats.However,this type of solution can lead to a significant increase in weight,affecting the performance of the aircraft.For this reason,it is crucial to study possible solutions that allow reducing the vulnerability of the aircraft while containing the increase in structural weight.One possible strategy is to optimize the topology of protective solutions to find the optimal balance between vulnerability and the weight of the added structures.Among the many optimization techniques available in the literature for this purpose,multiobjective genetic algorithms stand out as promising tools.In this context,this work proposes the use of a in-house software for vulnerability calculation to guide the process of topology optimization through multi-objective genetic algorithms,aiming to simultaneously minimize the weight of protective structures and vulnerability.In addition to the use of the in-house software,which itself represents a novelty in the field of topology optimization of structures,the method incorporates a custom mutation function within the genetic algorithm,specifically developed using a graph-based approach to ensure the continuity of the generated structures.The tool developed for this work is capable of generating protections with optimized layouts considering two different types of impacting objects,namely bullets and fragments from detonating objects.The software outputs a set of non-dominated solutions describing different topologies that the user can choose from.展开更多

By equivalent disposing, the reliability constraints were changed into conventional forms. The performance-based passive control analysis of the Maxwell dampers between one 10-story and one 6-story adjacent RC frames is conducted in this work.Not only the optimal parameters but also the optimal arrangements...The performance-based passive control analysis of the Maxwell dampers between one 10-story and one 6-story adjacent RC frames is conducted in this work.Not only the optimal parameters but also the optimal arrangements of the Maxwell dampers are proposed based on the optimal target of making the total exceeding probability of the adjacent structures to be minimal.The applicability of the analytical expressions of the Maxwell damper damping parameters under different seismic performance targets are firstly examined and then the preferable damping parameters of the Maxwell dampers are proposed through the extensive parametric studies.Furthermore,the optimal arranging positions and optimal arranging numbers of the Maxwell dampers between the adjacent buildings are derived based on a large number of seismic fragility analyses,as well.The general arranging laws of the Maxwell dampers between the adjacent buildings are generated based on the discussion of the theoretical method through the simplified plane model.The optimal parameters and optimal arrangement of the Maxwell dampers presented make both the adjacent structures have preferable controlled effects under each seismic performance target which can satisfy the requirements of multi-performance seismic resistance of the modern seismic codes.展开更多
Based on a simplified 3-DOF model of twin-tower structure linked by a sky-bridge,the frequency response functions,the displacement power spectral density(PSD)functions,and the time-averaged total vibration energy were...Based on a simplified 3-DOF model of twin-tower structure linked by a sky-bridge,the frequency response functions,the displacement power spectral density(PSD)functions,and the time-averaged total vibration energy were derived,by assuming the white noise as the earthquake excitation.The effects of connecting parameters,such as linking stiffness ratio and linking damping ratio,on the structural vibration responses were then studied,and the optimal connecting parameters were obtained to minimize the vibration energy of either the independent monomer tower or the integral structure.The influences of sky-bridge elevation position on the optimal connecting parameters were also discussed.Finally,the distribution characteristics of the top displacement PSD and the structural responses,excited by El Centro,Taft and artificial waves,were compared in both frequency and time domain.It is found that the connecting parameters at either end of connection interactively affect the responses of the towers.The optimal connecting parameters can greatly improve the damping connections on their seismic reduction effectiveness,but are unable to reduce the seismic responses of the towers to the best extent simultaneously.It is also indicated that the optimal connecting parameters derived from the simplified 3-DOF model are applicable for two multi-story structures linked by a sky-bridge with dampers.The seismic reduction effectiveness obtained varies from 0.3 to 1.0 with different sky-bridge mass ratio.The displacement responses of the example structures are reduced by approximately 22% with sky-bridge connections.展开更多

With the help of the structures, crash kinetic-energy can be completely absorbed or dissipated for the aim of safety. Two composite structures(circumscribed circle structure and inscribed circle structure) were constructed. In addition, comparison and optimization of the crashworthy characteristic of the two structures were carried out based on the method of explicit finite element analysis(FEA) and Kriging surrogate model. According to the result of Kriging surrogate model, conclusions can be safely drawn that the specific energy absorption(SEA) and ratio of specific energy absorption to initial peak force(REAF) of circumscribed circle structure are lager than those of inscribed circle structure under the same design parameters. In other words, circumscribed circle structure has better performances with higher energy-absorbing ability and lower initial peak force. Besides, error analysis was adopted and the result of which indicates that the Kriging surrogate model has high nonlinear fitting precision. What is more, the SEA and REAF optimum values of the two structures have been obtained through analysis, and the crushing results have been illustrated when the two structures reach optimum SEA and REAF.展开更多

By analyzing the relation of honing wheel structure parameters and workpiece machining accuracy, the relation of honing wheel and wear coefficient, then this paper gets honing wheel structure parameters in the condition of best accuracy coefficient and wear coefficient, and resolve the problem of choosing honing wheel structure parameters in ultra-precision plane honing at last. This paper analyses the relation of honing wheel structure parameters and workpiece machining accuracy coefficient and wear coefficient, by building relative movement math model of honing wheel and workpiece in plane honing. Through theory calculating, the result indicate: about honing machine tools for large volume manufacture, honing wheel wear is main effect factor, so honing wheel should adopt obverse triangle radial structure. About honing machining for high accuracy and low-batch quantities, machining accuracy coefficient is main factors; so honing wheel should adopt reverse triangle radial structure. In order to optimize the crashworthy characteristic of energy-absorbing structures, the surrogate models of specific energy absorption (SEA) and ratio of SEA to initial peak force (REAF) with respect to the design...In order to optimize the crashworthy characteristic of energy-absorbing structures, the surrogate models of specific energy absorption (SEA) and ratio of SEA to initial peak force (REAF) with respect to the design parameters were respectively constructed based on surrogate model optimization methods (polynomial response surface method (PRSM) and Kriging method (KM)). Firstly, the sample data were prepared through the design of experiment (DOE). Then, the test data models were set up based on the theory of surrogate model, and the data samples were trained to obtain the response relationship between the SEA & REAF and design parameters. At last, the structure optimal parameters were obtained by visual analysis and genetic algorithm (GA). The results indicate that the KM, where the local interpolation method is used in Gauss correlation function, has the highest fitting accuracy and the structure optimal parameters are obtained as: the SEA of 29.8558 kJ/kg (corresponding toa=70 mm andt= 3.5 mm) and REAF of 0.2896 (corresponding toa=70 mm andt=1.9615 mm). The basis function of the quartic PRSM with higher order than that of the quadratic PRSM, and the mutual influence of the design variables are considered, so the fitting accuracy of the quartic PRSM is higher than that of the quadratic PRSM.展开更多

Consequently, the jet scatters, which deceases the jet penetration capability. In the present study, a multi-section method was proposed to design the spin-compensation liner. The spincompensation rate(SCR) of the liner was defined as the specific angular velocity that a fluted liner can offset. Based on the plain stress theory, SPH numerical method was applied to study the converging process of the 2D fluted structure. The spin-compensation mechanism of the fluted structure was illustrated. Then, nine cross sections were chosen along the liner axis equidistantly. On each of the section, a 2D fluted structure was designed to offset a given initial angular velocity. After, the optimized fluted structures were integrated into a 3D fluted liner. Jet appearances of the normal liner and the fluted liners under different initial angular velocities were compared, which verifies the practicality of the multi-sectional method. The multi-section optimization method provides a new efficient method of designing the shaped charge liner for a specific usage.展开更多

In order to obtain a new-type short cylindrical cup-shaped flexspline that can be applied to space mechanisms,the APDL language of ANSYS software was employed to develop a parameterized equivalent contact model betwee...In order to obtain a new-type short cylindrical cup-shaped flexspline that can be applied to space mechanisms,the APDL language of ANSYS software was employed to develop a parameterized equivalent contact model between a flexspline and a wave generator. The validity of the parameterized equivalent contact model was verified by comparing the results of the analytic value of the contact model and the value calculated by the theoretical formula. The curvilinear trend of stress was obtained by changing the structural parameter of the flexspline. Based on the curvilinear trend of stress,multi-objective optimizations of key structural parameters were achieved. Flexspline,wave generator,and circular spline of a new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer were designed and manufactured. A performance test bench to carry out tests on the harmonic reducer was designed. Contrast experiments were implemented to determine the efficiency of the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer and the conventional 32-type harmonic reducer under different conditions. The experimental results reveal that there is approximately equality in terms of efficiency between the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer and the conventional 32-type harmonic reducer. The volume of the flexspline of the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer is reduced by approximately 30% through multi-objective optimization. When the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer is used on the wheel of a rover prototype,the mass of the wheel hub is decreased by 0.42 kg. Test analysis of wheel motion verifies that the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer can meet the requirements regarding bearing capacity and efficiency.展开更多

According to the result of Kriging surrogate model, conclusions can be safely drawn that the specific energy absorption(SEA) and ratio of specific energy absorption to initial peak force(REAF) of circumscribed circle structure are lager than those of inscribed circle structure under the same design parameters. In other words, circumscribed circle structure has better performances with higher energy-absorbing ability and lower initial peak force. Besides, error analysis was adopted and the result of which indicates that the Kriging surrogate model has high nonlinear fitting precision. What is more, the SEA and REAF optimum values of the two structures have been obtained through analysis, and the crushing results have been illustrated when the two structures reach optimum SEA and REAF.

文摘The potential role of formal structural optimization was investigated for designing foldable and deployable structures in this work.Shape-sizing nested optimization is a challenging design problem.Shape,represented by the lengths and relative angles of elements,is critical to achieving smooth deployment to a desired span,while the section profiles of each element must satisfy structural dynamic performances in each deploying state.Dynamic characteristics of deployable structures in the initial state,the final state and also the middle deploying states are all crucial to the structural dynamic performances.The shape was represented by the nodal coordinates and the profiles of cross sections were represented by the diameters and thicknesses.SQP(sequential quadratic programming) method was used to explore the design space and identify the minimum mass solutions that satisfy kinematic and structural dynamic constraints.The optimization model and methodology were tested on the case-study of a deployable pantograph.This strategy can be easily extended to design a wide range of deployable structures,including deployable antenna structures,foldable solar sails,expandable bridges and retractable gymnasium roofs.
文摘Free abrasive particle machining in simple machine such as: honing, polishing can get higher surface finish mirror, but surface error, and working procedure is hard to control. Therefore, the vertical disposed ultra-precision plane honing method by ultra-particle diamond honing wheel is put forward to. The results of experiments indicate: plane-honing wheel has higher machining accuracy and machining efficiency. But at the same time the structure parameters of honing wheel effects on machining accuracy. By analyzing the relation of honing wheel structure parameters and workpiece machining accuracy, the relation of honing wheel and wear coefficient, then this paper gets honing wheel structure parameters in the condition of best accuracy coefficient and wear coefficient, and resolve the problem of choosing honing wheel structure parameters in ultra-precision plane honing at last. This paper analyses the relation of honing wheel structure parameters and workpiece machining accuracy coefficient and wear coefficient, by building relative movement math model of honing wheel and workpiece in plane honing. Through theory calculating, the result indicate: about honing machine tools for large volume manufacture, honing wheel wear is main effect factor, so honing wheel should adopt obverse triangle radial structure. About honing machining for high accuracy and low-batch quantities, machining accuracy coefficient is main factors; so honing wheel should adopt reverse triangle radial structure. Neglected the manufacturing factors of honing wheel, then we can design honing wheel with high power curve structure to meet the need of machining accuracy coefficient and honing wheel wear coefficient in higher accuracy honing.

文摘The damping material optimal placement for the structure with damping layer is studied based on evolutionary structural optimization (ESO) to maximize modal loss factors. A mathematical model is constructed with the objective function defined as the maximum of modal loss factors of the structure and design constraints function defined as volume fraction of damping material. The optimal placement is found. Several examples are presented for verification. The results demonstrate that the method based on ESO is effective in solving the topology optimization of the structure with unconstrained damping layer and constrained damping layer. This optimization method suits for free and constrained damping structures.

文摘Backfill hydraulic support is the key equipment in achieving coal mining and solid backfilling simultaneously in solid backfill mining technology.Based on the summary and analysis of main types,basic structural properties and filed application of backfill hydraulic support,this work has firstly proposed the basic principle of backfill hydraulic support optimization design and provided the method of optimal design of key structural components,like four-bar linkage,rear canopy and tamping structure;the method is further elaborated as changing hinging position of upper bar to optimize four-bar linkage,by lengthening or shortening the rear canopy to optimize length ratio of canopy;and by changing length and hinging position of tamping structure as well as suspension height of backfill scrape conveyor to realize optimization of tamping structure.On this basis,the process of optimal design of backfill hydraulic support is built.The optimal design case of ZC5200/14.5/30 six columns-four bar linkage used in 7203 W workface of Zhaizhen Coal Mine shows that the backfill properties like horizontal roof gap,vertical horizontal gap,tamping angle and tamping head gap are improved obviously through optimizing four-bar linkage,canopy length and tamping structure according to the optimal design method proposed in this work.

文摘In order to optimize the crashworthy characteristic of energy-absorbing structures, the surrogate models of specific energy absorption (SEA) and ratio of SEA to initial peak force (REAF) with respect to the design parameters were respectively constructed based on surrogate model optimization methods (polynomial response surface method (PRSM) and Kriging method (KM)). Firstly, the sample data were prepared through the design of experiment (DOE). Then, the test data models were set up based on the theory of surrogate model, and the data samples were trained to obtain the response relationship between the SEA & REAF and design parameters. At last, the structure optimal parameters were obtained by visual analysis and genetic algorithm (GA). The results indicate that the KM, where the local interpolation method is used in Gauss correlation function, has the highest fitting accuracy and the structure optimal parameters are obtained as: the SEA of 29.8558 kJ/kg (corresponding toa=70 mm andt= 3.5 mm) and REAF of 0.2896 (corresponding toa=70 mm andt=1.9615 mm). The basis function of the quartic PRSM with higher order than that of the quadratic PRSM, and the mutual influence of the design variables are considered, so the fitting accuracy of the quartic PRSM is higher than that of the quadratic PRSM.
文摘In this work,a variable structure control(VSC)technique is proposed to achieve satisfactory robustness for unstable processes.Optimal values of unknown parameters of VSC are obtained using Whale optimization algorithm which was recently reported in literature.Stability analysis has been done to verify the suitability of the proposed structure for industrial processes.The proposed control strategy is applied to three different types of unstable processes including non-minimum phase and nonlinear systems.A comparative study ensures that the proposed scheme gives superior performance over the recently reported VSC system.Furthermore,the proposed method gives satisfactory results for a cart inverted pendulum system in the presence of external disturbance and noise.
文摘In this research,a Multidisciplinary Design Optimization approach is proposed for the dual-spin guided flying projectile design considering external and internal parts of the body as design variables.In this way,a parametric formulation is developed.All related disciplines,including structure,aerodynamics,guidance,and control are considered.Minimum total mass,maximum aerodynamic control effectiveness,minimum miss distance,maximum yield stress in all subsystems,controllability and gyroscopic stability constraints are some of objectives/constraints taken into account.The problem is formulated in All-At-Ones Multidisciplinary Design Optimization approach structure and solved by Simulated Annealing and minimax algorithms.The optimal configurations are evaluated in various aspects.The resulted optimal configurations have met all design objectives and constraints.

文摘Spin effect of the small diameter shaped charge results in the centrifugal stress during the jet stretching process. Consequently, the jet scatters, which deceases the jet penetration capability. In the present study, a multi-section method was proposed to design the spin-compensation liner. The spincompensation rate(SCR) of the liner was defined as the specific angular velocity that a fluted liner can offset. Based on the plain stress theory, SPH numerical method was applied to study the converging process of the 2D fluted structure. The spin-compensation mechanism of the fluted structure was illustrated. Then, nine cross sections were chosen along the liner axis equidistantly. On each of the section, a 2D fluted structure was designed to offset a given initial angular velocity. After, the optimized fluted structures were integrated into a 3D fluted liner. Jet appearances of the normal liner and the fluted liners under different initial angular velocities were compared, which verifies the practicality of the multi-sectional method. The multi-section optimization method provides a new efficient method of designing the shaped charge liner for a specific usage.
文摘Optimization of structural parameters aimed at improving the load carrying capacity of spatial flexible redundant manipulators is presented in this paper. In order to increase the ratio of load to mass of robots, the cross-sectional parameters and constructional parameters are optimized respectively. The cross-sectional and configurational parameters are optimized simultaneously. The numerical simulation of a 4R spatial manipulator is performed. The results show that the load capacity of robots has been greatly improved through the optimization strategies proposed in this paper.

文摘Finding out reasonable structures from bulky data is one of the difficulties in modeling of Bayesian network (BN), which is also necessary in promoting the application of BN. This pa- per proposes an immune algorithm based method (BN-IA) for the learning of the BN structure with the idea of vaccination. Further- more, the methods on how to extract the effective vaccines from local optimal structure and root nodes are also described in details. Finally, the simulation studies are implemented with the helicopter convertor BN model and the car start BN model. The comparison results show that the proposed vaccines and the BN-IA can learn the BN structure effectively and efficiently.

文摘Eccentric decoupling blasting is commonly used in underground excavation.Determination of perimeter hole parameters(such as the blasthole diameter,spacing,and burden)based on an eccentric charge structure is vital for achieving an excellent smooth blasting effect.In this paper,the Riedel-Hiermaier-Thoma(RHT)model was employed to study rock mass damage under smooth blasting.Firstly,the parameters of the RHT model were calibrated by using the existing SHPB experiment,which were then verified by the existing blasting experiment results.Secondly,the influence of different charge structures on the blasting effect was investigated using the RHT model.The simulation results indicated that eccentric charge blasting has an obvious pressure eccentricity effect.Finally,to improve the blasting effect,the smooth blasting parameters were optimized based on an eccentric charge structure.The overbreak and underbreak phenomena were effectively controlled,and a good blasting effect was achieved with the optimized blasting parameters.

文摘In order to obtain a new-type short cylindrical cup-shaped flexspline that can be applied to space mechanisms,the APDL language of ANSYS software was employed to develop a parameterized equivalent contact model between a flexspline and a wave generator. The validity of the parameterized equivalent contact model was verified by comparing the results of the analytic value of the contact model and the value calculated by the theoretical formula. The curvilinear trend of stress was obtained by changing the structural parameter of the flexspline. Based on the curvilinear trend of stress,multi-objective optimizations of key structural parameters were achieved. Flexspline,wave generator,and circular spline of a new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer were designed and manufactured. A performance test bench to carry out tests on the harmonic reducer was designed. Contrast experiments were implemented to determine the efficiency of the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer and the conventional 32-type harmonic reducer under different conditions. The experimental results reveal that there is approximately equality in terms of efficiency between the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer and the conventional 32-type harmonic reducer. The volume of the flexspline of the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer is reduced by approximately 30% through multi-objective optimization. When the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer is used on the wheel of a rover prototype,the mass of the wheel hub is decreased by 0.42 kg. Test analysis of wheel motion verifies that the new 32-type short cylindrical cup-shaped harmonic reducer can meet the requirements regarding bearing capacity and efficiency.
